### "An industry standard must have"

February 3, 2026

5.0

I have been using Photoshop for a couple of decades back when it was sold in a box. It has changed a lot and you can do so much more with it. It is my go to for graphic creations for my website or album covers. I use it a lot, actually, nearly everyday. It is a necessity if you do anything with graphics. Definitely an industry standard,

Pros

This is a very robust product. Once you get used to it, you can move around it with ease, especially with the keyboard shortcuts. I like the select object feature to gab and object quickly and the built in AI generation to easily replace or remove things from the picture. I integrates with premiere pro so that when you change something in photoshop it automatically updates in premiere. I also like how you can import a video and edit or pull off a single frame. They also offer a student discount which makes it affordable. There is a cloud storage feature and a way to share projects. I haven't needed to contact support as their help pages seem to cover my questions.

Cons

They have gotten rid of some old feature that I used to use a lot, like the tint option, and now I have to use the hue function which took some getting used it. Also, it is now part of a subscription instead of being able to buy it outright, but seem most software is like that now. It does take up some computer processing, but they also have a stripped down on-line version.

### "AI isn't magic, and even if it were, you don't get much for your money."

January 4, 2026

2.0

I still use Photoshop CS3 regularly and have done since 2010. It was paid outright, and if Photoshop were still available as a perpetual licence product, it would probably rate higher. I did a thorough test of the latest version of Photoshop at the very end of 2025 and decided it was definitely not worth the subscription. Affinity, while far from perfect, is a much preferable alternative for 99% of the work that can be done in Photoshop.

Pros

It goes without saying that its long history as a household name and industry standard photo editor is not unearned. For a wedding photographer, it's an excellent tool and can definitely do the job most of the time, in the right hands.

Cons

Its expensive pay monthly subscription model and reliance on AI is not in its favour. Many other options are available, and despite the hype over AI, the results are unsatisfactory when digging deeper, and equally good (or bad) results can be achieved with free alternatives, albeit with a little extra work and hardware. In case you're thinking of renting Photoshop for its AI features to do the work for you, bear in mind that with the basic Photoshop subscription you get very little use of its generative AI features per month unless you pay for an even more expensive add-on package. If you don't need generative AI, there are many other options out there. While I find generative AI underwhelming and grossly over-hyped, I have conducted many hours of tests and experimented with many models and workflows, including custom ComfyUI set-ups and decided that using Krita with AI produced just as good (or bad), and sometimes better results than Photoshop's, for free.

### "Photoshop: Brilliant Software, Disappointing Business Model"

August 22, 2025

4.0

Overall, Photoshop has been an extraordinary tool in my career, offering unrivalled editing capabilities and creative flexibility. It set the benchmark for professional image editing, and I relied on it heavily for decades. However, my relationship with the software changed the moment Adobe moved to the subscription-only model. Despite its brilliance, I stopped upgrading once ownership was taken away from users. I still admire what it can do, but I no longer feel the same sense of value or fairness in using it.

Pros

Photoshop has been the industry standard for a reason. Its power and precision in photo editing, image manipulation, and digital artwork are unmatched. Over the decades, I’ve used it for everything from photo retouching to complex composites, and it consistently delivers professional results. The breadth of tools, filters, and adjustments makes it incredibly versatile.

Cons

Adobe’s shift to a subscription-only model was the biggest drawback. I purchased Photoshop outright decades ago and for years and kept up with upgrades, but now that investment is meaningless. Being forced into ongoing payments, regardless of how often I use the software, feels unfair to long-term loyal users. It turned a great tool into one I no longer wish to support financially.

### "By far the best Photo editing software available"

December 9, 2025

4.0

I have a friend that is a professional photographer. I have seen him do amazing things with Adobe photoshop. He told me it was easy and suggested I try it out. I love all the functions but even after two years of use it's a bit overwhelming at times. This is the standard for almost every professional photographer, many graphic designers and digital artists. Well worth the cost in my opinion.

Pros

Love the multitude of available tools available for basic photo touch ups to highly detailed digital art projects. I have tried several other photo editing programs and none compare.

Cons

Photoshop is not for amateurs unless they have a lot of time to invest in learning how to use Adobe photoshop. I actual hired a friend that is adept at it to show me what he knows but there are still features I have never tried.

### "More Than Just a Photo Tool"

August 28, 2025

5.0

Overall, it is a great product with multiple uses. There are so many different features and is a constant learning experience.

Pros

I love all the different things that can be done with adobe photoshop. It can be used in my personal life as well as with my business. It works great for editing photos. I use it for designing my business cards. The logo and graphics can all be edited in the same place. I like that I can a yearly fee to use all of the tools. I can switch from my personal use to business use using a login giving it an extra security feature.

Cons

Their is a lot of learning to use photoshop. I am constantly watching video tutorials to do different designs. I had a problem with billing and trying to get an actual person to help me took a lot of effort.

### "Photoshop is the GOAT"

August 25, 2025

5.0

Overall this is my go-to for graphic design and all things design really. It integrates with all adobe products seamlessly and makes it easy to go from rough idea to fully finished project.

Pros

Photoshop is extremely easy to use for entry level graphic designers. There are so many compatible add-ons and features that make your graphics look top-notch.

Cons

The new update for photoshop takes a little getting used to as it has added guidelines and a slew of other things including generative AI. Its annoying when companies update things in ways the community never asked for.

### "It might be time to look for better options"

January 2, 2026

3.0

I have to admin. I used photoshop for years both at works and on my personal computer but know both me and my friends do not trust their privacy over their 360 degree a.i. adoption

Pros

It is still the leader of digital editing and creation, with painting, design, graphic and editing tools. Basically everything it is needed to create or edit images.

Cons

the massive adoption of a.i. tools, the automatic ingestion of your own images for training, the ongoing changes in their ToS to accomodate their a.i. building makes now everything shady and doubtful.

### "Best Graphic Software "

October 4, 2025

5.0

Overall, Photoshop remains my go-to software for image editing and design creation. It’s powerful, reliable, and constantly evolving with new AI tools that save time. Despite the price and learning curve, the quality of results and creative control make it well worth it.

Pros

Adobe Photoshop offers incredible flexibility for photo editing, graphic design, and logo creation. I like how precise its tools are — especially layers, masking, and blending modes, which allow me to refine every detail. The integration with other Adobe apps like Illustrator and Lightroom also makes my workflow smoother. It’s an all-in-one platform for both beginners and professionals.

Cons

The subscription cost can be quite high for freelancers or small business users. It also requires a powerful computer to run smoothly, and updates sometimes slow down performance. The learning curve for new users can be steep if you’re unfamiliar with advanced tools

### "Crucial piece of software"

December 19, 2025

4.0

I use Photoshop on a daily basis, whether I am colour correcting or cleaning up images, it is a vital piece of software for me.

Pros

It is a fully comprehensive piece of software which is crucial in my role as a graphic designer and pre-press technician. The customer support is good with some really helpful tutorials and there is a lot of automation built in in regards to image editing making it a lot easier to use when creating designs.

Cons

It is hard to keep up to date with the changes and updates. It is capable of some clever things and it is a learning curve! Also the worst thing I find is that it no longer supports Pantone colours. This has been a huge set back.

### "Photoshop - the best image enhancement program there is"

June 23, 2025

5.0

I have been using Photoshop for more than 20 years. It gets better and better as improvements in computers and data storage allow the Photoshop engineers to include more powerful features. Adobe spends enormous resources consulting with its user base. The results demonstrate the users' expertise.

Pros

Photoshop lets photographers and designers do amazing things to enhance their photographs and designs. It's Adobe Camera Raw plug-in greatly simplifies the process.

Cons

Photoshop has so many features and so many ways to do essentially the same thing (some of which work better in some situations, and others of which work better in other situations) that the learning curve is enormous--even with the vast learning aids Adobe provides.

Alternatives considered

[CorelDRAW](https://www.capterra.com/p/124823/CorelDRAW/)

Reason for choosing Adobe Photoshop

Photoshop is more widely used. Thus there is a much vaster array of tutorials, classes, and help from friends available.

### "Essential part of any designer's toolkit"

May 26, 2025

4.0

I've used Photoshop for 20+ years, primarily for print and publication design in both design, photo editing/correction and production environments. I've deployed it to teams and trained users on it. For anyone jumping into it for the first time, do lots of tutorials online, not just on creating but also setting up Photoshop for the best workflow - this is definitely a program you will learn by using.

Pros

Photoshop is an essential part of any designer's toolkit. It's a household name, and everyone has an idea of what it does. But the further you delve into it, the more productivity and time-saving tools you discover, and that is where you really start finding value in it as a busy designer.

Cons

Photoshop does have a steep learning curve and can be quite overwhelming to new users. Fortunately, this is offset by the number of tutorials, both free and paid, available online. The key for any new user is finding the workspace that suits you—having the right tools showing will make your life a lot easier.

Pros

Cons

### "Adobe Photoshop, a tool for all graphic styles"

July 6, 2025

5.0

My overall experience with adobe Photoshop is good. I have experienced so many updates and changes that improve quality of life. It's why I keep on subscribing.

Pros

I like the AI features and tools that allow me to generate images with precision and more control than other AI image generation tools do not allow.

Cons

I dislike that sometimes the new features are not always easy to find or highlighted in someway. I dislike that there no real time collaboration features.

Adobe Photoshop has a really steep learning curve, but once you get used to its tools and develop your own work style and macros it is by far the most efficient and powerful tool for not only photo editing but also creative work.

Cons

### "Photoshop: geniale, impegnativo e impossibile da abbandonare"

March 29, 2025

4.0

All’inizio l’ho odiato.

### "Aobe Photoshop is a great tool but at a cost"

December 25, 2025

4.0

Adobe Photoshop is a lot of fun to experiment with, with tools to explore and play around with. However, the price point is expensive, and I found the resources to be limited

Pros

Photoshop comes equipped with a lot of tools to create anything you want or make edits to an existing photo or item.

Cons

Adobe Photoshop, like most Adobe programs, can be quite expensive, especially for beginners or students. It can also be quite confusing if you don't know what you're looking for, so it's not as intuitive for beginners. I also found that the resources on the Aobe page are not as helpful. I was left confused and had to look for YouTube videos to find the answer.

### "Image Editor, Enhancer and Graphic Design tool. "

November 17, 2025

My experience with adobe photoshop was like a roller coaster, at the beginning it felt uphill because I was learning their tools and what I could with it, but with time it became fun to use, although when new updates come, it feels uphill again with the new tools, but then it becomes fun again.

Pros

I can edit and enhance pictures, create logos, marketing materials like banners, flyers, business cards, and I can change the dimension of my projects easily.

Cons

The learning curve for using photoshop can be overwhelming when you are a beginner, it took me several months to actually feel confident using it.

### "Photoshop is the best raster image editor, period"

July 25, 2025

5.0

Like any Adobe program, Photoshop has quite the steep learning curve, and I'm sure that I've only tapped about 30-40% of its capabilities, even having used it for over a decade. That being said, I don't feel like I've ever had a raster image edit task that I couldn't accomplish in Photoshop. You're limited only by your imagination and knowhow, not the software itself.

Pros

Photoshop is absolutely necessary for photo editing and creating professional-level imagery. Even if you intend to export to other tools like Figma or Canva, Photoshop is the number one tool for creating the perfect foundation. From professional headshots to product imagery to whatever creative thing you can come up with, Photoshop is top-notch at refining colors, textures, lighting, and edges.

Cons

I only wish that Photoshop was still available as a standalone downloadable program file as opposed to being part of yearly subscriptions. I don't necessarily need the ongoing updates and would be content with it as is for now.

### "Bringing Photos to Life with Photoshop!"

December 10, 2025

5.0

I’ve had a great experience using Photoshop and have edited lots of amazing photos for work. It’s been really rewarding to take raw images and bring out the best in them, whether it’s improving colors, cleaning up details, or creating something completely new.

Pros

I love Photoshop because it gives me so much control over my images and lets me fix or change almost anything. I also really like how the layers make it easy to experiment without messing up, and it feels like there’s no limit to what I can create.

Cons

Photoshop can be really overwhelming, especially when you’re just starting—it has so many tools and options it’s easy to get lost. It can also be a bit slow or heavy on your computer, and some features feel more complicated than they need to be.

### "Best photo editing software available."

March 11, 2025

5.0

I have been using Photoshop for over 15 years and in that time it has come a long way. The days of spending hours comping assets are over. You can work faster and get the better results. It makes life as a creative much easier and gives you more time to creative rather than spending time doing the boring tasks of old.

Pros

Photoshop is the best photo editing software out there and it keeps getting better. The new ai content aware fill and other AI generations, make editing photoshops quick and efficient. Rather than spending hours comping in elements or extending images, it can be done in seconds.

Cons

The only issue with Photoshop are in the text options. Its not really the best place to be adding text, but the options and features are bit off compared to adobes other programmes. Same with the artboards, if they were more like Illustrator, they would be a lot easier to use.

Pros

Photography studios love Photoshop's advanced picture editing and secure process, which allows them to produce spectacular graphics, intricate designs, and distinctive branded logos for customers.

Cons

Others dislike the graphic design and logo feature as too tricky to use, needing extra assistance and training time to work with, which delays project turnarounds on busy studio production timelines.
