It best aspect would be the simplicity of it's user interface and ease of use. Pros The ability to use pages across multiple devices and it updates live without needing to be saved. Cons It's not very compatible with Microsoft devices. Although you can export to Microsoft word and PDF sometimes formatting doesn't match with how you have it set up in pages. I would recommend sending your Pages document as a PDF or trying to view how it looks on Word before sending it for something important like customers or University work. - Wish it was also available on iCloud.com for non Mac users. For example, if I want to create an e-book, with Pages, I can take rough notes, proofread and edit those notes, layout a page style and even design a cover.Pages also allows me to make presentations, write letters, draft ideas, take notes on interviews with clients and more. Pros I love that Pages provides a powerful word processor that is specifically aimed at creatives, like me. It bridges the gap between word processor and design software in a seamless way. It is as easy to create a professional letter as it is to create a beautiful flyer. It can even be used to lay out a website, create newsletters and much more. Cons What I like least about Pages is that it is integrated into Apple products. For the most part, I utilize and prefer Google apps like Drive, Sheets, etc although Pages is my preferred word processor over Google Docs. Reason for choosing Pages I still use Google Docs for most of my word processing simply because it integrates better into Google Drive, etc, but I prefer pages for any design heavy projects like ebooks, newsletters, basic flyers etc. Review Source SA Summer A. " August 6, 2022 4.0 With Mac you do not have a choice, you really have to use pages. However, it is generally a good software without major glitches, and doesn't slow your computer down. It is relatively easy to use and self explanatory. It is of course NOT compatible with Microsoft / android so you have to always remember to export files as word or as pdf. Pros It works well isn't generally glitchy and has a lot of adaptability. You can export to other formats for other computers etc and you can actually open up a word document on a mac and then edit with pages. Cons My biggest issue with pages is its grumpiness. It randomly decides to stop allowing a document to be saved and says the document is not editable - even though all permissions are set. It is so strange and extremely frustrating! Pros Pages is great when you create a document from scratch and only use it within Pages or print it to PDF. It has almost all of the functions I ever need. I often create presentations in Pages and then export it to PDF to do powerpoint presentations because they use the least amount of space, are easy to create and edit, and even the lowest-quality presentation systems can handle the files. Pages is not as clunky or RAM-heavy as Microsoft software, which is great for slower devices. It also doesn't have as many superfluous buttons, so it's easier to use than some other programs while still being more or less aesthetically pleasing to work with. Cons It is very difficult to go back and forth between Pages and other word processing programs like Microsoft Word or Google Documents. There is a lack of compatibility between the programs, so documents get unformatted easily, and it is nearly impossible to fix them. This is especially difficult when you have multiple users working on the same projects and all use different programs, or when you just need to open the document on a different device (like a non-Apple computer or Android phone) when you're on the go. Cons The thing I least like about Pages is the fact the documents created on Pages cannot be opened elsewhere unless converted into a suitable format like PDF. I use other document software as well, but pages is my go to if I can us it. Pros Ive worked on many document creating systems. Pages is my favorite for creating a document from scratch. I've found it has more versatility and ease compared to other products. It allows for creativity without needing to move to adobe illustrator or the like (don't get me wrong, it is not the same as AI). Great for tables/graphs and integrates well with numbers. Cons There is a learning curve if you are not familiar with the operating system. It takes a moment to become familiar and find what you need. That being said, the help menu typically solves my problems in 30s or less. Give it a try! Apple lovers claim it’s far greater than Microsoft or Google’s versions. I tend to use all of them from time to time, moving to one after the other for different uses and reasons. Pros When compared with the other great document editing/office software tools, like Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), Google Workspace (formerly G-Suite; Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc.)... Apple iWork, which includes Pages, Numbers, and Keynote, is certainly one of the top competitors in the race! Against these major, billion dollar contemporaries, Apple shines through with distinction, diligence, and decadence! It is certainly much sleeker than the standard white-wash design of the other opponents. It’s interface is modern, like all Apple products, and it’s user-friendliness is unparalleled! Cons Versus the other major office software companies, as aforementioned, Apple iWork, and especially Apple Pages, does have a few cons that prove against it in the race for best document software. Apple Pages is not extremely useful in terms of user-collaboration. Google Docs and Sheets here win the prize, as it was the pioneer of collabs on a single document and still is at the head of the “multiplayer” doc editing game. Apple Pages is also pretty basic in terms of detailed, articulate document and spreadsheet editing and utilization, Word and Excel here takes the cake. October 12, 2022 5.0 If you're creating simple documents, or even media-loaded ebooks on a Mac, Pages is really powerful software considering it's free. It even streamlines uploading ebooks directly to the Apple Bookstore. And for not being professional software, it's giving Affinity and Adobe a run for their money. Pros If you use a Mac, the tight integration with the OS is a dream. We also enjoy the rich Ebook export features. We just finished a digital press kit for a client with embedded photo carousels and music and found that recipients of the ebook version were more likely to respond because of the experience. And putting that experience together was much easier than professional software from Affinity or Adobe. Cons Well, Pages isn't professional software and lacks advanced integrations (like Adobe Bridge) with all your connected brand resources. Calling the photo picker loads the local Photos library. Music picker loads the local music library, etc. I haven't used the software with MacOS Server, so I don't know if that changes things.
