Pros The biggest pros of Pages is its user-friendly interface and intuitive design. Cons It's not so great for collaborating with people who don't use Apple products. Some problems are present, but with constant updates, things have been improving in terms of user experience, file sharing, and file formatting. Pros The numerous features packed into the software make it a very suitable word-processing software. Furthermore, the application is free and acts as a perfect alternative to the expensive Microsoft Word. Additionally, the pre-designed templates in Pages are one of the most well-curated and well-designed templates, unlike other word processors. Cons The fact that the software is only limited to Apple products, makes the process of Document management very cumbersome and time-consuming. Pros Pages is a nice app to have on a Mac as you do not need to install Word. It comes preinstalled and the learning curve is very short. Cons Pages seems very underpowered. It has everything you need to write and edit documents, and the layout is clear, crisp, and modern. Pros I was hesitant about Pages at first because I'd spent years using Microsoft Word. Then, when my laptop fried and I had to get a new one, I was forced to use Pages, but I was quickly surprised at how much I liked it. Marking up documents using Track Changes is easy, and the layout is clean. Also, you're able to export documents to a .doc file anyway, which is almost as good as using Word. Cons It's a bit harder to navigate the tools (I still cannot find a thesaurus or dictionary on the software). I don't like the highlighting tool as much, as it's a bit harder to "unhighlight" than in Microsoft Word. Pros As a professional Graphic Designer I often work with clients who have little to no experience with design software. I really like that I can set up a layout design for them and they can maintain it. It also has many of the functionality that is extremely useful such as leading, space before/after, and more. It also makes it really easy to be on the phone with a client and walk through how to achieve a particular thing. Cons Some of the features are not quite as intuitive as I would like. For example, when Pages adds a page to the document but there is nothing on it (not even a space) you have to hunt around for the right view and controls in order to remove that page. Also, importing an image, it doesn't import at the original size, you have to tell it to be that size. I would think it should be the other way around. Review Source WS Walter S. I can create beautiful documents that I can send for personal use. Pros There are many templates for your project making your documents look beautiful with little effort. Also, you can export in multiple formats if you want to send a file to something other than a Mac. Cons You can export into multiple formats, however you can't import any other format. Pros What’s nice about pages is it’s free for any Apple user and it can do everything that Microsoft word can do. It’s super easy to use and if you’re already a Mac user then Pages is worth using.
