Overall I have built one website with Bluehost it was easy to use and easy to integrate. I have two users linked with my account for a successful implementation

Pros

I like how easy it is to connect with Wordpress and to add users with different permissions to the account

Cons

When users don’t accept the invite in time it glitches and won’t resend to the same email. Support did help with this

### "Bluehost is a Go To for Wordpress Users"

April 14, 2025

5.0

My overall experience has been very good. Customer service has been great as it’s available 24/7 for any assistance the user may need.

Pros

Bluehost has been a great host for my Wordpress website. It makes building a website easy and affordable.

Cons

I am not a fan of the upselling of add-ons that are often necessary for your website as well as the speed that can sometimes be a bit slow.

### "Bluehost Hosting PROBLEMS"

December 23, 2025

1.0

In a word: horrible. Level one support cannot directly talk to tech support for "escalated cases." This opens the door for a complete lack of ownership, liability or follow-up. In this case I have repeated the same request every day for 8 days. To say that note taking is subjective and reactions are basically gaslighting would be putting it lightly.

Pros

Initially the price but I have been repeatedly upgraded and my costs have more than doubled YoY. Initially the ease of WP management but cPanel access and tools are constantly changed as they juggle hosting plans.

Cons

Hosting plans change and my fees increase without added features. When I ask to get the new hosting plan rate, I am forced to pay additional migration fees.

### "Tailored for Small Businesses"

January 2, 2025

4.0

It is great for someone running a just few sites. It is very affordable and you get good basic features for keeping track of the sites.

Pros

Seamless hosting and transfer setup for a website. The ability to track multiple domains/sites at a time is handy. Works amazing well with Wordpress sites and allows for plugin to get an automatic update. But it is nice to be able to turn off certain plugin update if you need to. The ability to see the logs for different aspects the site is great, like the error or access logs.

Cons

The overall look and feel for the website is basic. It could use some new features like a realtime look at the statues of the sites. It can also run slow for the sties.

### "You get what you pay for."

April 18, 2025

2.0

We were long-time customers and came back this month to set up a business email. As we found with other companies that have offshore support, it's impossible to figure out their DNS instructions and get the product up and working. We tried for a week, then went to Google Workspace--rapid setup, instant help, no worries. Businesses like mine do not have time to wait around while a company like Bluehost responds to a trouble ticket.

Pros

There are a variety of options like web hosting, domain hosting and business email. The product is more affordable than some others.

Cons

After years of outstanding support based in the U.S., they moved to an outsourced overseas model, and it's a mess--no solutions, agents speak rudimentary English, poorly trained. Plus, the product setup up is not intuitive, takes forever, and you can't get help. Not for me.

### "You shouldn't ever try this host "

August 16, 2024

1.0

I was assigned three different account numbers for various services and domains. Customer support couldn’t tell me which account number was associated with which service, and this information wasn’t displayed in the domain interface either. The interface is incredibly inconvenient. For some reason, I was shown two websites even though I only had one domain. No one could explain why this was happening, not even my developer and sysadmin, who were both surprised by how clunky everything was. When they launched their WordPress plugin, which installed itself without any warnings in the WordPress interface, it completely deleted my site. Support claimed it wasn’t their plugin, even though the auto-deletion continued daily until I figured out to remove the plugin from the site. They didn’t help me understand why this was happening and blamed it on a theme update. I have 20 other sites using the same theme, and none of them experienced this issue. Of course, they brushed me off since they didn’t want to compensate for the days when the site was down and traffic was lost. Their backup storage filled up, and I didn’t receive a single email notifying me that I needed to address this. As a result, backups simply didn’t happen. They told me this wasn’t their problem and that there was nothing they could do to help. I was expected to regularly log in and manually clean out old backups myself. When I finally decided to cancel my subscription, with seven months of hosting left, they refused to issue a refund, stating that the subscription had already started and therefore no refund would be provided.

Pros

It was easy to find and set up an account on Bluehost. However, that's where the advantages seem to end.

Cons

The customer support is terrible—I’ve never had any of my issues resolved, not even the simplest ones. It seems like their support team consists of people with poor English skills, likely based in the Philippines or India.

### "Held domain hostage"

October 17, 2025

1.0

Pros

I honestly cannot think of anything. I was a hostmonster user before bluehost acquired them, once they acquired them, my host went downhill.

Cons

Held domain hostage for 60 days. Beware of trusting bluehost with your domains. They will quietly charge you more for the domain each year it renews. Once you realize this and try to transfer it to a fair at-cost service like Cloudflare, you will begin your journey down a maze of roadblocks aimed to prevent you from doing so. For myself, at the end of the maze, which took multiple weeks, calls, and emails, they chose to force a 60 day lock on domain transfers. The ICANN policy clearly states that registrars can offer an opt-out policy for users, but Bluehost chooses not to. Worst experience with a company in the last 10 years. Do yourself a favor and find an honest, no fluff company like Cloudflare to host your website on.

### "Blue Host raises prices by 60% without notice!"

January 11, 2025

1.0

After Blue Host raised our price by 60% without advanced notice, I recommend that customers steer clear from Blue Host. I am planning to file a claim with the North Carolina Attorney General's office unless I can get resolution from Blue Host.

Pros

We were a happy customer of Fatcow (now known as Blue Host) for many years. The service was affordable for small businesses that did not have a lot of traffic or require advanced services. The WordPress integration was nice too.

Cons

They recently charged my business 60% more than they did 3 years ago. I requested the Customer Service Representative to show me evidence that they informed me ahead of time they were going to dramatically increase our price and they could not provide any evidence. I also called and emailed Blue Host corporate and received no help.

### "Good for simple things and having just one website per account."

November 19, 2023

2.0

Though we haven't had a great experience with Bluehost, I understand how it could be an okay option for an user with little experience on WebDev and DevOps.

Pros

If all you need is one website to manage, it is affordable and an okay service.

Cons

Their customer service is beyond bad, managing several websites from one account can be problematic and simple things like DNS records sometimes takes your through very convoluted menus and submenus.

### "Bluehost is needed but leaves questions "

September 16, 2022

3.0

Its been necessary to have the customer service support, to figure out all the confusion that comes with having a website, but over all I feel like I'm paying far more money than I actually need to be.

Pros

I know it gives me what I need to have a safe and professional website as well as professional domain, which helps me appear high quality to potential clients. It's also really great that there is customer service chat option at any time.

Cons

It all feels confusing, not very user friendly and theres been a number of times I've spoken to customer service trying to get something figured out between bluehost and another provider I'm integrating with. I wish there was a more clear explanation of how to use it and why we need it.

I recommend bluehost for beginners and small companies as they have a really good first year offer and they have all the features needed for people that don’t have a lot of experience with hosting

Pros

### "Bluehost Service - Good luck!"

March 31, 2024

1.0

Dreadful customer service. Avoid Bluehost and their associate iPage. They just don't care. Look at the comments on their Facebook posts and you will see what I mean.

Pros

Bluehost offers a similar service to many other providers.

Cons

Their service is terrible! They offer an email address for affiliates, but not for customers. This should ring alarm bells. It also means that those who say good things about Bluehost are most likely being paid to do so.

### "Disappointing overall experience"

January 18, 2022

3.0

Overall disappointing experience. They bill themselves as a bright shiny hosting provided that's easy to use, when in reality they're clunky, unprofessional, and unhelpful.

Pros

Bluehost has always been on the cheaper side, though this is balanced with requiring a bulk purchase of months upfront (before you even know if the service has worked out for you....).

Cons

Bluehost has been consistently unprofessional in my support conversations with them. First, my website is taken down when I'm not sent payment reminders to my email on file (though they claimed to), then they take my website down and, as a result, my business email inbox is permanently damaged to the point where half of every email sent to me never lands in my inbox. I lose clients because of it. Next, Bluehost takes no responsibility and says that, "everything looks good on their end" and that there's nothing they can do about it. My registrar (GoDaddy) confirms that the issue is on Bluehost's end and something which they did. Lastly, as the cherry on top, any time I've had to speak with Bluehost about a payment-related topic, their "customer service" reps become salespeople more than anything. I get sold to at multiple points in the support call and feel more like they care about upselling me than they do actually helping me with my support issue. Thanks, Bluehost, for permanently screwing up my business's inbox and refusing to help fix the problem. Then, upselling me instead of helping your customer. I've never written a review like this, but after that kind of treatment, I've been compelled to for all the wrong reasons.

### "Easy for newbies , excellent customer support"

February 11, 2023

5.0

I like Bluehost, and I would definitely recommend it, especially to beginners.

Pros

When I started my website, I was completely new and had no outside help. Naturally, the technical aspects intimidated me. However, after several reviews and comparisons, I decided to go with Bluehost, and I was not disappointed. Overall for all the features it provides, the plans are pretty affordable. It is very user-friendly, and installing WordPress was a breeze and super easy.Though I haven't contacted their customer support frequently (because I don't have issues with Bluehos), from my few interactions, the help was exceptional as all my queries were addressed in one interaction.

Cons

To be quite honest, after almost two years of using Bluehost, there isn't anything I dislike. I would have to make up something, and that would be dishonest. Sometimes, I have read negative reviews on different forums, but I often find myself saying that is not my experience.

### "Reliable Website Hosting service"

April 1, 2022

4.0

Pros

I like that their shared hosting plan for the website are reliable enough if you are starting out with your very first website and can later upgrade if your hosting needs increase. The basic email they provide via Cpanel is reliable enough to receive and send an email, for me to conduct my daily business communications. They have good enough built-in integration to work with WordPress easily. Whenever I reach out to their support chat for help, I have got a live response and got all my queries resolved.

Cons

They promote Sitelock along with the hosting purchase, which I got for the first year but did not find good enough service to continue for the second year. I hope they stop promoting Sitelock as an addon in their purchase option as it isn’t that good. Their pricing has increased over the last few years.

Reason for choosing Bluehost

Fulfilling hosting needs for my WordPress website.

### "Bluehost review"

July 4, 2021

4.0

In general: We were a client for 3+ years however client service couldn't have cared less. Business should get going admirably when you couldn't care less about your drawn out clients. The help group would more than once push our inquiries to another person, wouldn't react for a few work days, and proposed that they weren't dependable if our locales were disconnected.

Pros

It is easy to use, even a novice can develop a website using bluehost, it has beautiful premade template that can be used.another fantastic thing about bluehost is, it is inexpensive and it came with a bonus. After purchasing hosting from bluehost, you get a free domain name for one year.

Cons

For the value, the assistance is in reality very great... at the point when it stays on the web. We became weary of rehashed vacation (1-2x each month) and a few times our destinations were disconnected two or three days. Client service was not in the least strong, in any event, attempting to say that it was on us to ensure our sites had reinforcements and that they weren't capable if our sites were away for acceptable.

### "Bluehost for Beginners "

December 16, 2021

5.0

Web presence is crucial, and Bluehost simply makes it more painless to create that presence.

Pros

Bluehost makes it easy to start a website. It’s not the very cheapest around, but that’s not a bad thing, because the value for the money is what matters. Ease of use and installation, quick help whenever necessary, strong wordpress integration, and beautiful presentation all make this software worth the buy for those that really have no idea what they’re doing.

Cons

I wish that customer service was a bit more clear. They were helpful with my problems so far, but I didn’t always understand all the things they were doing to solve those problems. This is only an issue because understanding the process more would help me solve problems on my own.
