### "I have been scammed by a bluehost"

December 11, 2023

1.0

I have been scammed by a bluehost - they have renewed automatically ssl purchase, there is no option to cancel the renew, remove the card, and event though they promised to refund me and cancel auto renew twice, they didn't. What can I do?

Pros

Can't find any to my biggest regret, just know how to charge money

Cons

They are charging money for ssl renewal and for domain renewal two weeks ahead, promissing you can get a refund and cancel, but they lie to you, and just keep you waiting until you can't do anything. You can't remove your credit card, so you have to apply to credit card to block them. They are fraud

### "You shouldn't ever try this host "

August 16, 2024

1.0

I was assigned three different account numbers for various services and domains. Customer support couldn’t tell me which account number was associated with which service, and this information wasn’t displayed in the domain interface either. The interface is incredibly inconvenient. For some reason, I was shown two websites even though I only had one domain. No one could explain why this was happening, not even my developer and sysadmin, who were both surprised by how clunky everything was. When they launched their WordPress plugin, which installed itself without any warnings in the WordPress interface, it completely deleted my site. Support claimed it wasn’t their plugin, even though the auto-deletion continued daily until I figured out to remove the plugin from the site. They didn’t help me understand why this was happening and blamed it on a theme update. I have 20 other sites using the same theme, and none of them experienced this issue. Of course, they brushed me off since they didn’t want to compensate for the days when the site was down and traffic was lost. Their backup storage filled up, and I didn’t receive a single email notifying me that I needed to address this. As a result, backups simply didn’t happen. They told me this wasn’t their problem and that there was nothing they could do to help. I was expected to regularly log in and manually clean out old backups myself. When I finally decided to cancel my subscription, with seven months of hosting left, they refused to issue a refund, stating that the subscription had already started and therefore no refund would be provided.

Pros

It was easy to find and set up an account on Bluehost. However, that's where the advantages seem to end.

Cons

The customer support is terrible—I’ve never had any of my issues resolved, not even the simplest ones. It seems like their support team consists of people with poor English skills, likely based in the Philippines or India.

### "Great Technical Support for Quick Resolution"

November 19, 2024

4.0

I had purchased a web hosting plan and then transferred in an existing domain. I ran into some issues with some DNS records and reached out to support over a chat. The support team was very knowledgeable and they were able to identify and resolve my issues on this one interaction. Highly recommend them for web hosting for the support team alone!

Pros

Very responsive Technical Support through chat

Cons

Ideally, it would have been nice to have my domain transfer processed without my involvement, but I do understand that these can be complex.

### "Weeks to fix a security breach"

July 15, 2024

1.0

Absolutely terrible. Everyone is in their silo. Apparently, there is no place for a user that has a big problem to go to get help. 2/10 people I spoke with seemed to care and really tried to help but even their hands seemed to be tied. And I am still without a website.

Pros

Have used for years with good results until now.

Cons

Hours and hours and no relief from my site being hacked. In fact, it got worse with each call to support. First I just had a blog from an unknown source, then my site began redirecting to another site, then the site reappeared with no formatting, then the site disappeared entirely with a message to contact wordpress.

### "Don't waste your time with Bluehost! "

January 18, 2024

1.0

Horrible I feel like Bluehost scammed me and suckered me with the services. For anyone looking for hosting of any kind I would NOT suggest Bluehost unless you like unreliable and nonexisting tech support.

Pros

After my experience, I can not say anything that I liked about Bluehost. I guess it is a cool name but a horrible service.

Cons

Constant server issues, site outages, admin dashboard connection issues, or outages. ZERO support from the company. When I was making the purchase the sales people were \[sensitive content hidden\] on the spot but when there were issues there was no help. Not even an update, nothing is perfect I get that but communicate with your customers.

Reason for choosing Bluehost

I had read online somewhere that Bluehost was the best for Woocommerce and I unfortunately chose to use them. Looking back I did not put much time and research into looking for a good provider. But I thought about what would be the worst that could happen and boy I never guessed this.

### "Ripoff, abusive, lied to get my business "

May 31, 2024

2.0

Not trustworthy. When they withdrew the promise of a refund I filed a complaint with my credit card company. They said when I engaged them in 2022 for domain hosting I was told no refunds. That was supposed to also apply to web development in 2024, even though my engagement letter said nothing. Then they promised a refund (of $2000) and withdrew it.

Pros

They hosted 3 domains for 2 years. They seemed to have good reviews for web development.

Cons

Lied about design speed to snag my biz for a high price of $2000. Promised 10-14 days, then it became 5 weeks. Promised me a refund, then a few days later withdrew the promise.

### "It'll be 6 years with Bluehost this year."

January 13, 2023

5.0

I've been with Bluehost for six years now with minimal issues. I haven't needed customer support in ages and everything runs seamlessly. I think I chose wisely.

Pros

One stop shopping. I have found that it offer everything I need and the customer service is excellent.

Cons

I get importing errors more than I'd like and I have to figure out why. Also, while there are a lot of add on opportunities it can get expensive quickly for a small business.

### "Bluehost, a good website hosting tool."

September 5, 2022

5.0

This is a good product for anyone who wants to create a functional website. I recommend it.

Pros

What is Bluehost? It is a website hosting software for the WordPress versions and any other Open source category. The software is navigation-friendly with the different sections clearly separated. It is actually very intuitive and fluid to use. What I like the most about this product are: - The ability to upload and manage our files through either the basic FTP (Files Transfer Protocol) option or the secure FTP when it’s turned into an anonymous mode; - The three backups periods give a sufficient timeframe of backup for your sites. They are: daily, weekly, and monthly. A site backup is a process of saving its files into a Cloud storage space or straight up into hardware such as your local PC storage, memory card, or USB item. This is a security measure in case something happens to avoid losing your files; - The C-Panel (it is a Web-hosting control panel) offers good integrations: We can add an email auto-responder, apps that track marketing metrics like the numbers of clicks on our websites, and we can also set content management systems apps other than WordPress, such as Drupal or Joomla. It shows that the software gives importance to Automation. This is good because the automation trend will just keep raising.

Cons

\- Ads are recurrent with this software. It’s disturbing if you’re someone who doesn’t like seeing ads while working; - It’d be better if Bluehost diversifies its servers in other parts of the world outside of the U.S to boost its speed.

Have been using bluehost for around 12 years now. Has improved leaps and bounds.

Pros

1\. Its cheap 2. The customer support is top notch. It is unfortunate that one needs to contact the customer support for as many things as one needs to , for. e.g approving web forms for sending emails . That said, the support is efficient and it gets it dine fairly quickly

Cons

1\. Quality of Email services offered alongside the hosting packages are not as good as they should be 2. Mailing from the websites forms or via CTAs is not as straightforward as one would like

### "Good for simple things and having just one website per account."

November 19, 2023

2.0

Though we haven't had a great experience with Bluehost, I understand how it could be an okay option for an user with little experience on WebDev and DevOps.

Pros

If all you need is one website to manage, it is affordable and an okay service.

Cons

Their customer service is beyond bad, managing several websites from one account can be problematic and simple things like DNS records sometimes takes your through very convoluted menus and submenus.

### "BlueHost - Quality hosting services"

August 16, 2021

5.0

I have been used the Shared hosting services provided by Bluehost for hosting multiple small and medium scale websites on a single plan. Have observed good performance for all of the websites.

Pros

Bluehost offers a wide range of hosting plans for various levels of website development needs. The hosting services provided by Bluehost offer excellent performance in terms of server up-time. The best thing about Bluehost is the website loading time, which is very quick. Another feature which is of great help is that all annual plans at Bluehost come with Free SSL certificate. Finally when it comes to support, the customer support team at Bluehost provides good and timely support for any kind of technical issues.

Cons

Nothing specific in terms of dislike. Only word of caution is regarding the discounts offered on your first purchase. Bluehost offers heavy discounts on your first purchase (Generally for their 12-month, 24-month or 36-month plans). The discount offered may not be available when you renew the products. So carefully check the renewal prices before going ahead.

### "Bluehost provides good reliable webhosting for a low price. "

February 8, 2022

4.0

As I mentioned in my review, Bluehost just works. I have been building and maintaining websites since 1995 so I understand web hosting. Bluehost has an easy-to-use control panel where I can set up databases and file folders. The SSL feature is also easy to configure. Overall, it is a trouble-free experience.

Pros

I am a technology consultant and several of my clients use Bluehost for hosting WordPress and Joomla websites, and I have never had a problem with it. I have been using Bluehost since 2012 and I have never had to contact tech support. Bluehost just works and the price of shared hosting is very affordable.

Cons

In the many years that I have used Bluehost, I have had very few issues. Thinking back, I recall having issues with page speed, but this was very limited and it happened several years ago. I have not had any problems recently and I will continue to use and recommend Bluehost.

### "Disappointing overall experience"

January 18, 2022

3.0

Overall disappointing experience. They bill themselves as a bright shiny hosting provided that's easy to use, when in reality they're clunky, unprofessional, and unhelpful.

Pros

Bluehost has always been on the cheaper side, though this is balanced with requiring a bulk purchase of months upfront (before you even know if the service has worked out for you....).

Cons

Bluehost has been consistently unprofessional in my support conversations with them. First, my website is taken down when I'm not sent payment reminders to my email on file (though they claimed to), then they take my website down and, as a result, my business email inbox is permanently damaged to the point where half of every email sent to me never lands in my inbox. I lose clients because of it. Next, Bluehost takes no responsibility and says that, "everything looks good on their end" and that there's nothing they can do about it. My registrar (GoDaddy) confirms that the issue is on Bluehost's end and something which they did. Lastly, as the cherry on top, any time I've had to speak with Bluehost about a payment-related topic, their "customer service" reps become salespeople more than anything. I get sold to at multiple points in the support call and feel more like they care about upselling me than they do actually helping me with my support issue. Thanks, Bluehost, for permanently screwing up my business's inbox and refusing to help fix the problem. Then, upselling me instead of helping your customer. I've never written a review like this, but after that kind of treatment, I've been compelled to for all the wrong reasons.

### "Glad I Switched Over!"

October 27, 2021

5.0

I've had no issues with Bluehost. Once you find your way around on the platform, Bluehost is very easy to use to host WordPress websites. Bluehost is one of the hosting heavy weights that's been around for years. They are very popular and very reliable. Even WordPress.org recommends them as a hosting company. I now regret that I tried a different hosting platform for my websites first.

Pros

I love that you can easily create subdomains with Bluehost. With subdomains, I can easily make as many landing pages as I want for online lead generation in my business.

Cons

I wish there were clearer instructions on how to add-on domains to Bluehost and then install WordPress onto those add on domains. I had to go over to YouTube so I can figure it out. It turned out to be easy to get this done, but it would have been nice for it to be clearer inside of Bluehost on how I could've done that myself instead of having to watch different YouTube tutorials to figure this out.

### "Bluehost is needed but leaves questions "

September 16, 2022

Its been necessary to have the customer service support, to figure out all the confusion that comes with having a website, but over all I feel like I'm paying far more money than I actually need to be.

Pros

I know it gives me what I need to have a safe and professional website as well as professional domain, which helps me appear high quality to potential clients. It's also really great that there is customer service chat option at any time.

Cons

It all feels confusing, not very user friendly and theres been a number of times I've spoken to customer service trying to get something figured out between bluehost and another provider I'm integrating with. I wish there was a more clear explanation of how to use it and why we need it.

### "Bluehost is one of the best web hosting service provider"

September 18, 2021

5.0

My overall experience is good, I didn't get any huge type of hosting related problems yet. This hosting provider was able to help me perfectly and grow up my business. Bluehost presents itself so professionally, If someone asks me that hey what is the best host provider? I can tell them about Bluehost.

Pros

Bluehost is one of the best hosting providers, there are so many reasons I got working with Bluehost that make this company amazing to me. I like their server response time, integration with other software is easy, management and control are good, pricing is not too much, and many more. Bluehost does not provide a lot of things with their hosting packages, but whatever you'll get, you'll get 100% quality things.

Cons

I don't think Bluehost provide good customer service. They actually don't care about the problems that a customer will get. Delay in reply, but once they will reply to you, you'll get some useless things in a long message. Bluehost should improve their technical support part.

### "Gets the Job Done!"

February 5, 2023

Good! Recommended by our website designers and it was a good price, preferred by their team, and easy for us to use in-house once handed over.

Pros

Easy to use, links directly to and supports our WordPress site, and has user-friendly features for first-time website builders. Like any platform, I recommend customising where possible as the freemium or templated features are quite basic, however, they definitely get the job done if you need something published ASAP while finalising a better design/function.

Cons

We haven't found any yet--other than the obvious need to invest in a few better-option templates or premium features if you want a useful and insightful website.
