Overcharged and They refused to close my account! I realized i had linktree running on a old clients instagram account for the past 2 years and was being charged. Asked LinkTree to close the account and they refused until my old client contacted them to close it. Even though there was zero activity on linktree service for over 2 years. My old client contacted them and requested to close the account in writing. They responded and refused because his email address was no longer active that he used on the old linktree account. They spent weeks making my old client jump thorugh hoops and STILL WILL NOT CLOSE THEIR ACCOUNT. Has to cancel credit cards, deal with banks.. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE!!! Their prices are not bad, the tool is easy to use, and they are trusted by social media users/everyone knows what Linktree is. While there are other alternatives (most of them are essentially the same thing with minor tweaks), I would recommend Linktree to most business owners due to the level of trust social media users have in the product. For example: If you are a new business and have a small following, you need to show potential customers that they can trust you. Since we inherently trust people with larger followings over people with small followings due to social proof, you are at a disadvantage. When a potential customer decides whether or not to click on the link in your IG bio, part of that decision comes down to risk (ie. Is this going to give my computer a virus?). You can decrease this level of perceived risk by using a trusted tool like Linktree. Every social media user has seen a Linktree link before, they know the format, and it reduces their level of perceived risk. Again, there are alternatives - great alternatives. However, for a small business, Linktree is probably the best bet. It is definitely value for money and due to all of this, I have recommended this app to my friends also. Pros Linktree is an excellent option to enhance our social profiles. I liked the variety of social website icons provided by the platform, which helps the user explore all the social profiles in one link. Another thing that I liked a lot, is the number of templates. There are a huge number of designs that we can set on our link. Cons I liked everything in Linktree except of the two things.1. Less number of features, for exp, they can provide an option to embed a map or video on the page and another feature of custom domain name . Also, there can be more features that can be included in the platform.2. Another thing I didn't like, is that whenever we open a link of social profile like youtube or Instagram, it opens in browser instead of it's app. It can be improved. Reason for choosing Linktree As it was value for money and it provided more features than other applications, I was attracted towards it. Also, it is very popular in my region. We weren't refunded. We weren't communicated with or informed I assume because Link tree has become an impersonal, top heavy, AI disaster and they don't actually care to communicate with their customers. I assume but I don't know because they make it so difficult to communicate with them about it. I tried starting one customer service thread that went cold on their end, not mine. The next time I tried starting a thread they'd introduced a customer service bot on their site and that didn't go anywhere. So the burden is on me to try and get a refund, figure out what's going on, give feedback, etc. But since they've made my experience a true pain I'm leaving this crappy review here. Maybe then they will start paying attention. Normally I don't take the time to leave crappy reviews but in this case I felt especially motivated. Pros Been using linktree for years, the product itself is at advertised and is fine. Never had too many problems with it. Cons The analytics were a little limited but other than that it performed as advertised. I renewed a paid subscription at the beginning of 2023. Pros I was looking for an App that would make it easier to spread my sales links on Instagram. Linktree helped me a lot with that. Besides having a super pretty page, where I can leave it with the colors and look I want, making the visual language look like my Instagram, it gives me the metrics and data, showing how many times each purchase link I attached there was clicked on. It's great and helps my work a lot. Cons The only thing is that it is entirely in English. I understand, but it would make it easier if you had the option to choose the language. I have reached out over 10 times since April 2022 to get this sorted out. I am continuously told it’s either fixed when it’s not, or after each message I continue to be forgotten. I have been nothing but kind and patient but after 9 months! This is absolutely ridiculous.I pay and work to have my website known to the public and I can’t when linktree and Instagram blocks if for no sensible reason. Pros It lives up to its name and functionality promises -- you have a page with a "tree" of links. I love that you can see how many people clicked on it and see your analytics. It is very easy to use and free! Cons In my opinion, the look of the page is quite limited. You get a limited choice of gradient backgrounds -- I would rather maybe even having a few solid colour backgrounds in there as well.
