August 30, 2025 5.0 Overall, I have enjoyed using Doordash to try food at local places that aren't available on other apps that are out there. Pros Doordash has helped alot in places where other apps have not. I've used it across different states and in different cities, it has given me access to different restaurants that were unavailable on more popular, mainstream apps. Cons At the moment, I honestly cannot think of any cons that are a reflection on the app. Usually any issues I've had were because the restaurant did not send my order correctly or did not see the order because only just started using the online ordering feature and were not used to using the system. It brought in new customers that otherwise wouldn't have tried us as well. The customer service when we did have issues was fantastic. Pros Doordash is easy to use for both the consumer and the business. Everything is laid out in an easy to follow way. The customer service is fast, responsive, and courteous. It integrated well on our website and was easy to set up. Cons The fees are high, forcing us to raise our prices and push that cost onto our customer. We tried to keep our prices affordable and someone who has only ordered through Doordash and not come into our restaurant would assume those are our regular prices, which may drive some customers away. Alternatives considered [Postmates](https://www.capterra.com/p/229317/Postmates/) Reason for choosing DoorDash for Merchants Postmates is not popular in this area. It seems to be very big in Europe, but in Buffalo NY it is not incredibly well known. Switched from [GrubHub](https://www.capterra.com/p/210141/GrubHub/) Grubhub is not as popular in the area as doordash and did not garner as many customers. Deliveries are also harder to coordinate and get out on time as there are not as many drivers. Review Source DR Donald R. No communication by for dash when order unavailable. It's been fun, but bye. Pros Nothing. 2 out of 3 orders in a month have had half or more of the order canceled, without notification. Paid a tip based on more than double of the food i received. Tonight almost 30 dollars of my order canceled due to bring out of stock, yet for dash didn't call, was going to send me the rest of the order, 2 biscuits, for 10 dollars. If i hadn't paid extensive attention to my order status, not a common action, I'd be paying for nothing. The store seems to be attempting to contact dd to inform them as well. They say they are getting hung up on by dd. However, over time my use has diminished, as it is a very expensive way to access a meal. Pros The best feature of the DoorDash app is the ease at which you can order food for home (or work) delivery. Cons The least appealing thing about the DoorDash app is the high fees and additional costs associated with ordering food to be delivered. If we dont meet sales expectations, they refund us the fee which they collect. Pros That can be integrated with our POS system. Which allow us to use our own system for ticket printing and order tracking rather than having different tablets and printers. Cons Because we are integrated with DoorDash trough our POS, our DoorDash menu is managed and controlled by our POS, but sometimes that fails, because we see orders containing sides which were removed already long time ago. And they are not showing in our POS menu which is the one synchronized with DoorDash one. Pros I love the way that Door Dash keeps you comfortable and confident knowing exactly where your order is and when it will be arriving to you fresh, hot and on time. Great customer service. Cons Someone hacked my account and ordered a $33 breakfast pizza. I don't even eat breakfast pizza. I tried to cancel the order and Doordash said no. I told them I DID NOT place the order. They insisted that I had. I canceled the order with the dasher and they thanked me for saving them a trip and that I would get a refund. Nope, Doordash said no refund. I'm disputing now with my bank. Cons I will no longer be using Doordash after the nonsense I've had to deal with getting charged for food I never received. I was first told by their costumer service that I would be refunded since I never received my order. A week later I didn't get any refund, so I contacted them again. I was then told it needed to be evaluated to their superiors who would contact me be email within a few hours. I never got an email all weekend, so I called again on Monday, having to re-explain everything again, which the first customer service representative simply stated he won't help me and then hung up on me. The second call I asked to first not get hung up on, then re-explained everything yet another time and had to go through the whole spiel again to just be told again that they cannot do anything and their superiors would email me within 12 hours. 24 hours later and still no email, I contacted them yet again, but this time was told their superiors decline to reimburse me. I couldn't believe that they insisted on charging me for something I never received and was originally told it would be refunded. Luckily I have USAA and filed a dispute with them against the charge. Hopefully it comes through. Doordash customer service is absolutely horrible, they are of little use, say they can't put you in contact with a person who can actually do something about your situation, are ride at times (I got hung up on just for asking about my refund), and their superiors I guess feel they're too good to email a customer about a situation and are completely fine with stealing someone's money. I never get a rude Dasher.They all seem to be kind and make sure my delivery is left for me to easily access it. They knock and wait for us to say Thank you and then they leave it! It's just an easy process honestly when it comes to what I need for ordering and very easy from the start to the end of ordering and delivery. I know some apps are a little harder for a person not so computer or internet savvy, however using door dash even beginners can easily use the app with no foreseeable issues. Pros Door Dash saves so much time out of my already busy day. It allows me to save gas and allows me more time to finish my daily duties! While they're doing the shopping and delivery for me, it amazes me how uninterrupted my day is and how much I can complete instead of stopping and having to leave and go do this all myself kl. There’s a great amount of restaurants to choose from, and I believe that it makes life easier for everyone because you can have food delivered directly to your door without having to leave the house. I highly recommend DoorDash! Pros I love that it is very simple to use, and the app always runs efficiently, and my food is always delivered to me quickly. The delivery drivers are always polite and respectful. This app is also great to use if you don’t feel like leaving your house, and would prefer to have your food delivered directly to your door. I believe that DoorDash has been a lifesaver for many people throughout the pandemic because many people were not comfortable with leaving their home because the COVID-19 cases were at an all-time high. I think that this app prevented many people from getting sick. DoorDash has been very beneficial for me, and the app has so much to offer. Love how easy it is to get the things I need last minute just delivered to my door. Never had any issues with DoorDash. I’m so glad I’m able to use it. Pros I’m a college student, so I was able to get a dash pass for very cheap. It’s so helpful for me because I use DoorDash all the time. I think it’s great they have a cheap option for us college students. Cons Sometimes they can’t find a dasher in a certain amount of time. Which is okay. It hasn’t happened to me, but others have told me it’s happened to them. But they always refund the money if they can’t find someone to deliver your things. Which is very thoughtful. It can be expensive and there can be mistakes with the order, but the overall benefits outweigh the bad parts. Pros DoorDash has made it almost too easy to order food online and have it show up to your door in under an hour. They have an impressive display of restaurants to order from. The app got even better lately with the integration of grocery shopping and picking up your packages. Cons The thing I like the least about the software is the added cost that is baked into every item. If I compare the prices on the app to the prices at the restaurant, it is inflated by a significant amount on the app. There are also a decent amount of mistakes to your order when you get it.
