August 30, 2025 5.0 Overall, I have enjoyed using Doordash to try food at local places that aren't available on other apps that are out there. Pros Doordash has helped alot in places where other apps have not. I've used it across different states and in different cities, it has given me access to different restaurants that were unavailable on more popular, mainstream apps. Cons At the moment, I honestly cannot think of any cons that are a reflection on the app. Usually any issues I've had were because the restaurant did not send my order correctly or did not see the order because only just started using the online ordering feature and were not used to using the system. Owner Restaurants Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Brings in new business to your restaurant" June 21, 2025 5.0 While the fees were high, Doordash is the most popular food delivery app in our area and did bring us a lot of business. It brought in new customers that otherwise wouldn't have tried us as well. The customer service when we did have issues was fantastic. Pros Doordash is easy to use for both the consumer and the business. Everything is laid out in an easy to follow way. The customer service is fast, responsive, and courteous. It integrated well on our website and was easy to set up. Cons The fees are high, forcing us to raise our prices and push that cost onto our customer. We tried to keep our prices affordable and someone who has only ordered through Doordash and not come into our restaurant would assume those are our regular prices, which may drive some customers away. Alternatives considered [Postmates](https://www.capterra.com/p/229317/Postmates/) Reason for choosing DoorDash for Merchants Postmates is not popular in this area. It seems to be very big in Europe, but in Buffalo NY it is not incredibly well known. Switched from [GrubHub](https://www.capterra.com/p/210141/GrubHub/) Grubhub is not as popular in the area as doordash and did not garner as many customers. No communication by for dash when order unavailable. It's been fun, but bye. Pros Nothing. 2 out of 3 orders in a month have had half or more of the order canceled, without notification. Paid a tip based on more than double of the food i received. Tonight almost 30 dollars of my order canceled due to bring out of stock, yet for dash didn't call, was going to send me the rest of the order, 2 biscuits, for 10 dollars. If i hadn't paid extensive attention to my order status, not a common action, I'd be paying for nothing. The store seems to be attempting to contact dd to inform them as well. They say they are getting hung up on by dd. However, over time my use has diminished, as it is a very expensive way to access a meal. Pros The best feature of the DoorDash app is the ease at which you can order food for home (or work) delivery. Cons The least appealing thing about the DoorDash app is the high fees and additional costs associated with ordering food to be delivered. If we dont meet sales expectations, they refund us the fee which they collect. Pros That can be integrated with our POS system. Which allow us to use our own system for ticket printing and order tracking rather than having different tablets and printers. Cons Because we are integrated with DoorDash trough our POS, our DoorDash menu is managed and controlled by our POS, but sometimes that fails, because we see orders containing sides which were removed already long time ago. And they are not showing in our POS menu which is the one synchronized with DoorDash one. Their tracking system is awesome you know exactly when you're meal will arrive and it gets to you hot & you have a choice and option to leave a great tip for the driver. I recommend Door Dash to anyone worldwide they get the job done. Pros I love the way that Door Dash keeps you comfortable and confident knowing exactly where your order is and when it will be arriving to you fresh, hot and on time. Great customer service. Cons What I can say I like least is when I get an order and there is never any sauces or ketchup . Other than that Door Dash will continue to be on my list when I want to place an order for delivery. They tried to deliver a wrong order. We had to instruct the driver to bring it back to the restaurant. He returned it to the restaurant but then just left without delivering it. Another food order from Cub - they went to a completely wrong address. They wouldn’t return it to the store either. Just left it there. Pulling up our address in any GPS comes up correctly. Driver claims that they put in the wrong city - correct address and city was verified by Cub in a follow up call between Door Dash and Cub - driver says the address comes up about 4 or 5 miles south of where we are located. There is. Nothing in that area with our street address. There is a major issue with Door Dash. I will never purposely order thru Door Dash. Pros Nothing. I like nothing about Door Dash. Pros \- Fast and affordable deliveries. - A large variety of products and gifts now available for delivery. - Great customer service, if something went wrong, they usually make it right. Cons \- Sometimes you might get a wrong item if the store made a mistake, I received the wrong drink a few times just because the restaurant no longer had what I ordered. - Dasher car occasionally remains still and delivery time can be slightly delayed. You can see where your order is at as a customer and, as a Dasher, easily select from a menu an update on the food to provide the customer. DoorDash has great customer service- I was always refunded if my delivery was wrong, very late or never arrived. Cons DoorDash obviously has competitors and sometimes their fees are less. I think you can minimize such fees by subscribing to DashPass. Otherwise, you can be hit with a fee each order that can add up. Dashers don't usually get much of this fee in terms of pay. They have ZERO customer service and they are a rip off company! Cons Someone hacked my account and ordered a $33 breakfast pizza. I don't even eat breakfast pizza. I tried to cancel the order and Doordash said no. I told them I DID NOT place the order. They insisted that I had. I canceled the order with the dasher and they thanked me for saving them a trip and that I would get a refund. Nope, Doordash said no refund. Love how easy it is to get the things I need last minute just delivered to my door. Never had any issues with DoorDash. I’m so glad I’m able to use it. Pros I’m a college student, so I was able to get a dash pass for very cheap. It’s so helpful for me because I use DoorDash all the time. I think it’s great they have a cheap option for us college students. Cons Sometimes they can’t find a dasher in a certain amount of time. Which is okay. It hasn’t happened to me, but others have told me it’s happened to them. But they always refund the money if they can’t find someone to deliver your things. Which is very thoughtful. June 3, 2021 5.0 Overall my experience with DoorDash has been okay, over the time that I've been using it I have had a couple of incidents where I've had to call customer service for a refund of my money because the Dasher didn't bring all of my food or either the restaurant messed something up with my order. Other than that I never get my food cold, I always get it on time and the food's good when I get it and the Dashers are usually really nice. Pros What I like most about DoorDash is that it's very accessible. I can order online or through their app. Also I always receive my order within 40 minutes of ordering, which isn't too bad. I like that they have each restaurant's full menu that they offer accessible to the customer. I also like that I can leave reviews on my delivery driver. Cons What I least like about DoorDash is the taxes and fees that they apply on your delivery. I would spend like $15 on my food then I would get to the checkout and see my total and the details that come along with the total and my taxes and fees would be like $6. Not including the delivery fee which is most the time around $4. So I would be sitting there at the checkout page with $10 worth of extra charges plus my $15 of my food charges. When Doordash was delivery partner of Walmart, they did a great job delivering groceries efficiently 4. Discounts Cons 1\. I kept getting notifications that I am eligible for a discount, but the promo codes never worked when I used them. This was very annoying. I have planned to order just because of promo codes, only to be disappointed later 2. Often there is $1-2 difference in prices between dining in and online, which is really disappointing.
