Great Piece of software easy to use with an easy workflow. Pros I love the ease of use and being able to import either text for video, pictures and video clips, or a link from a Blog to create a video. This was created as a replacement for another platform that failed. This is my go-to in stock video creation for you to and social platforms. Cons Unfortunately they did not live up to the promises made for LTD buyers when they sold us the LTD they said that we would get all premium Pro features and unfortunately I am now paying monthly on two separate plans for church that they said would be included for all future upgrades. I do understand that upgrades are expensive but if you are not planning on including upgrades you should not promise all future upgrades in your sales copy. It makes a huge difference in the final product. Pros The final product is high quality. The availability of Eleven Labs voice library and Getty images make Pictory hard to beat. Cons There are some issues with visual selection in the initial draft of a video that require some editing. However, I have never been disappointed with my final selection of visuals. I start with Pictory to get the base slide graphics, animated graphics and on-screen titles. I use HeyGen to create the talking-head spokesman videos. Then I bring everything together using Wondershare Filmora which has really gotten very sophisticated for the low cost. I supplement the presentation with graphics and additional video from Canva. It's a dynamite combination. Pros You just paste your script and it selects the videos and the music. There is a TON of high-quality music and videos to choose from, and it's all included in the program which sells at a very affordable price. Cons It's doesn't create "talking head" videos. By that I mean having an AI-generated spokesperson reading the script. That would be the only thing I would like to see added. August 15, 2023 5.0 They have a great Facebook group and they roll new features all the time!I love getting a Pictory update email and seeing what new cutting edge features they released and watching the really helpful tutorial videos that always accompany the new features.It is so easy to use. There is zero learning curve. It has made me so much more presentable via video because I typically use a lot of filler words like umm, so, right?, etc. Pictory deletes these with the flip of a toggle. I feel so much more confident with my video content because of these features. Pros Being able to cut out text from transcription of my recording and the video deleting that exact scene instantly is so amazing. It save soooo much time. Cons I'd love to see them amp up their folders / video organization system. It is a little tough to navigate your files at a glance and I'd love a sub folder feature. Pros I just input the text, and the software will select the videos for me and caption them. I just need to spend some time editing the videos for some scenes and also splitting scenes when there's too much text on a particular scene. The recent collaboration with ElevenLabs and Getty Images has boosted the quality of the videos. Cons The auto voice generator can often mispronounce certain terms. Pictory got us about 90% of the way there fairly easily and quickly. It gave us a great approach to bringing words to life so, we're hooked. If you have a big budget, this isn't for you, and the quality of your video will depend on you, it's garbage in, garbage out. If your sense of taste is all in your mouth, you'll probably want to get someone else to use this for you. I recently saw a truly horrific promo webinar that used it where it had no artistic sense. But that wasn't Pictory's fault... Pros The way Pictory turns your script into a pretty usable video with little effort or investment in time. August 5, 2023 5.0 Pros I love that Pictory is so easy to use that one can figure it out without having to watch a bunch of tutorials. My goal is to save time and Pictory definitely does that! I can upload my transcript and then while it is processing, I can work on other tasks. After it is ready, I can then edit the script, graphics, add voice-overs and background music, adjust the timing of each slide, add transitions, and much more to truly make it my own. I have a hit podcast with high levels of audio production and great content. I wanted to move that to video and YouTube, but its daily and at least for the conceivable future will not earn money. So I needed a quick way to construct a video to augment the audio, but it has to look professional and have excellent graphics. Pros It's the ease of use and speed with which it produces a quality product. I don't have time to learn all of the mechanics of editing and production with a new tool. It automates the whole process, but it looks great. Cons There are a couple of things about it that are problematic or not as easy. I find placing your own text on a scene (or slide) is workable but not easy. I've made some mistakes that took time to fix. I wish the branding elements were as easy and as creative as the rest. Cons I would like it to have an option to place the whole music as "main character", for background music and subliminal affirmations kinds of video. The "main character" for now, is the text/voiceover, so I need to come up with some tricks to come around it, like repeating the same video many times to fill the music length. Cons Pictory operates as if its under a beta testing mode. Randomly, you'll experience site failures and inconsistencies. For the past 2 weeks, the video generation option has been down. No word (literally) on its status changing.Audio / Voice over upload to text is off. A 5 min audio, read from a script, will generate an 8-10 min video - which results in unnecessary time spent editing.Some of their background music does not pass Youtube copyright claims - meaning you get a strike, not a copyright claim with approved use.I could go on ... Pictory was very clever to see there was a place to be taken, and it was indeed! At first, the app was buggy and basic, but it evolved fast, listening to the users advice. If a company listens to its customers, it is generally a sign of quality and confidence. I don't regret my investment when the company was a small startup. Pros I used it primarily for text to video in a corporate setting. The UI is very intuitive and easy to use. Pictory selected a wide range of clips that aligned with my text, and these were most often usable without changes. I replaced a few of the clips and images with my own media, and this process was quick and easy. If you're looking for a simple way to create videos, without learning high-end production software, Pictory is the best option I've found. Cons The AI generated voices were better than some, but I felt it was obvious that they were AI. This won't work in my particular environment, so I uploaded my own audio. I will then have to copy the content from my blog post into a text to speech SaaS and then export to my computer and import to Davinci resolve to a timeline. I will then have to upload the stock videos to Davinci Resolve and then trim to match the specific sentence. The entire process takes almost an hour. Although, with Pictory, the process takes less than 20 minutes tops. Pros \- Ease of Use when selecting videos to match text - Fairly accurate transcription - Good feature set. Pictory UI is very intuitive. I was able to easily jump in and use the Article to Video module for my existing blog posts. The Ai b-roll video selection isn't the best but the ability to perform a refined search for a replacement video was easy. The additional tweaking necessary to create a usable video still requires less time, then having to manually go to a stock video website download the asset, then import to a video editing program and then match with a specific sentence. The edit videos with voice using text feature is amazing. The ability to quickly edit out all the filler words is amazing. The cut is a little abrupt, but it's better than hearing the filler word. I was also able to trim down an existing video asset to include only highlights at record time. Before, I had to remember certain sections of the video to cut. Now, I can easily skim through the script and highlight the key talking points in the video and voilà, done and done. I love it. Cons \- Filler word cut out is abrupt - Limited number of usable Ai text to speech voices - Inability to use pre-recorded voice over for all slides. (I currently have to use another text to speech software for each slide) this just takes too long. I ended up just using Pictory text to speech voice out of frustration.
