The transition from Mindbody to Momence happened over 1 weekend transferring the data of over 20,000 customers. I was very impressed. I love how my team can use the customer support function instead of coming to me. And since converting, we have been able to hit all of our benchmarks. As a business owner, tools like this help our organization focus on creating high quality service and better customer care.

Pros

My front desk team loves its ability to have anyone on my team communicate with clients and we can all see the history. This allows our team to streamline our efforts and the client feel well taken care of. They also appreciate how easy the POS is and the accuracy of payment processing. I also love its integration with META and Google for our Marketing efforts (Leads Funnels, Analytics, integrated forms, etc.) The Teachers love it for the Substitution feature, How it seamlessly integrates into their Google Calendars, and how they can verify the accuracy of their payroll.

Cons

The bookkeeping function is not helpful because you don't really need all that transactional detail in your books. If you need to see where the revenue is coming from, you can just pull up the reports in Momence.

Terrible experience. Do not recommend. So much time wasted trying to figure out the product without help from onboarding.

Pros

I liked that it had the potential to streamline operations, CRM, enrollment and booking, appointment management, leads. It was supposed to be an all in one platform.

Cons

Terrible onboarding experience. Onboarder launched me before everything was set up and ready to go. Product was not easy to use. Client support was days away. I was continued to be charged after canceling the service. Sales team was not truthful in what the software could do.

Overall, my experience was disappointing. Momence has a lot of potential, but it feels like a platform that’s still in development. I spent too much time troubleshooting issues, re-doing tasks, and chasing support for solutions. If reliability and seamless operations are important, there are other platforms that offer a smoother, more dependable workflow. Momence just wasn’t stable or intuitive enough for my needs.

Pros

The concept behind Momence is great; An all-in-one platform for scheduling, memberships, events, and communication. The interface is clean, the customer-facing pages look professional, and the automation options have real potential. When everything works, it can streamline a lot of operational tasks.

Cons

The platform is very buggy, and features don’t always work the way they’re advertised. Managing classes, memberships, and customer data often feels clunky, and the navigation isn’t intuitive. Reporting tools are limited and sometimes inaccurate, which makes decision-making harder. The biggest frustration, though, is the customer support; slow response times, inconsistent answers, and very little proactive help when something breaks. For a platform that’s supposed to simplify scheduling and client management, it often creates unnecessary friction.

I’m a wellness studio owner who was misled by Momence, a Y Combinator–funded technology company co-founded by Harvard Business School \[sensitive content hidden\]. On a recorded Zoom sales call, their sales team misrepresented a core integration to induce me into a contract. I run an appointment-only business and made my needs clear. They reassured me their class and appointment software would work. It didn’t. I gave them full onboarding access to my business system and invested weeks of time setting up their platform, preparing to switch. Only the day before launch did they finally admit their appointment scheduling platform could not actually do what they promised. That isn’t a simple mistake — that’s fraudulent inducement. When I asked for proof that my data was deleted, they sent a sham “certification” signed only as “Authorized Representative.” No name, no title, no accountability. When I sent them a proper certification letter requiring a real officer’s name and signature, they refused to sign and ignored my deadline. Their legal team now hides behind vague “litigation hold” language instead of certifying deletion. This isn’t how professional studio management software should behave. A company claiming to be an all-in-one platform for studios, gyms, spas, and dance schools should not be lying to close sales, mishandling data, and refusing accountability. \* Business owners: Protect your trust and your client relationships. Don’t risk them on Momence. \* Investors: Ask yourselves if this is really how a Y Combinator technology company should be operating. Dishonest. Evasive. Unprofessional.

Lame. horrible. torturous .disappointing. I was brushed over lied to and the worst- Stolen from. I kept getting passed from one representative to another until someone would say "we'll call you tomorrow" then they wouldn't.

Momence is updated/current.

Cons

Absolutely EVERYTHING! They are not paying me my money which I have 5 months of proof of and suddenly nobody is available to speak with about this dispite my countless attempt to resolve. They do not send out emails to clients after their first class even thought they said they would. You can't ring up two items at the same time if one item. is discounted. AND you can't cancel memberships they can only be "frozen". Also if you cancel a class it will appear on your website for eternity.

TERRIBLE. I wish I had the past 4 months of my life back and I know no one who likes it. They lock you into a 12 month contract and basically extort money from you.

Pros

Nothing, it has only increased our workload instead of reducing it! Nothing works and we have to fix issues daily.

Cons

The lack of support. They send you token emails saying they will support you for fixes and don't. They over promise and under deliver. Terrible company to deal with, terrible product to use.

Momence oversold and underdelivered. in the 6-7 months we've been a customer its actually gotten worse for us bc they no longer offer phone support - so getting ahold of someone who can actually help usually means emailing the co-founder, who will reply with brief non-answers that basically translate to : yes we hear you, no we don't care.

Pros

clean interface is pretty much the only thing that's a pro, and the cons monumentally outweigh any pros. If you're considering momence, please for your time/sanity/wallets sake... DONT SIGN A CONTRACT WITH THEM

Cons

i hate how clunky and non-custmizable the embeddable widget is - momence does not care that their widget isn't mobile friendly. I also HATE they force you to give them a backlink from your website to momence.com improving their SEO - we pay you $300 go buy your own backlinks don't force us to promote your product. The review generation sucks you can't customize the messaging or sequences sent for reviews so good luck getting your clients to leave reviews from the "automation" momence provides The CRM is even worse. They allow you to create custom fields for data you collect in your FB ads, but they DO NOT allow you to create custom fields in your email or SMS messaging - imagine how infuriating it is for us for example - we have a massage studio and when people respond to our ads they give us a prefered appt time - we have to MANUALLY reply to each one bc momence doesn't have features CRMS from 5 years ago have. Yes i've reached out to their team about this numerous times and from the bottom all the way to the co-founders, they have brushed off the suggestion. Oh - lead management? you're forced to manage leads in small batches - of course they provided a CSV IMPORT feature but no CSV export feature (probably bc they want to make it as difficult as possible for customers to leave) But bc of the limitations of their CRM today their support suggested the only way i can get to that data is to manually export data (since the lead management panel only shows a limited number of fields the task of exporting a months worth of leads so we can actually contact them the way we want to? that will literally take hours and hours and hours) Which btw, if you like chat support from overseas by people who are still learning english, you will LOVE momence. If you expect competent support from people who know and understand their own product? Yeah keep looking, momence aint it.

Customer service makes the whole experience deeply frustrating. They could introduce tiers of priorities for queries. And have at least one actual developer to hand. They could have extra VIP support for a fee... So much that could be done.

Pros

Easy-ish to set up and manage. Easy to embed on website. Basic immediate support for the easier questions. Regular features. Economical compared to most booking systems. Momence are constantly improving and changing things.

Cons

Customer service are polite but they use a script and it is infuriating. They also have almost no understanding of the app or how it works. The answers they can give are very very limited. After spending a long time going round in circles explaining to them their own app, they then escalate it to the developers/. The developers usually take a week, or more to reply. This is of course of no use if you are running a class that day or have an event which needs marketing. Losing a week is a long time. The developers respond by email and if not resolved will take anything from a day to two weeks to respond. After a year I am being driven quite mad with this. The limitations on embedding on a website are problematic, You can only embed one type of class/ event per web page. So I am having to design my site around that. Momence are constantly improving and changing things, but this can often affect the price - hugely. Especially for smaller businesses like mine. So I have to keep an eye on this and find ways around some of their higher fees. They are catering less and less for roaming businesses, that don't have a permanent home.

Overall Im quite pleased. There were a few occasions that it took quite a long time to get a response and repeated emails from our end were needed to find answers. The helpdesk chat usually response quickly and is helpful, but to talk with someone on the phone an appointment needs to be scheduled far out in advance. We are still figuring out a few things, not everything is straight forward. I cannot always find the help info/videos, unless a hepldesk person sends me a link. There are still functionalities that I need to explore. We are a bit surprised how long it takes for funds to show up in our account after running it in the system. This is longer than what we are used to with different processors. We also hope that the international component of our business can be figured out.

Pros

We are very happy with the online video library options. Also live streaming had a few more options that we were looking for that others didnt have. In general also happy with most other features of the software.

Cons

There some components that require extra steps to connect together, When a mistake was made or when we were trying to figure the best way to set things up for our use, it wasnt easy to just delete parts.

Excellent support and tutorials! Customers are very happy, so far!

Cons

We're still learning the system, so have some bumps to get over. Support is very helpful, but time to make appointments for live support may be weeks out. FAQ and video tutorials are very comprehensive and I can muddle through until my live appointments most of the time.

Momence support is poor. Their staff are not well trained to resolve issues when they arise. We also frequently get charged more than what is stipulated in our contract and have to contact them for refunds.

Pros

Momence is a rudimentary software for fitness businesses. They present themselves well and is simple to use if you don't have many clients or classes scheduled.

Cons

over time there have been multiple issues and glitches in the software. They can take months to respond and with our latest issue, it has been 2 months with no follow up even though they have said it's been escalated and put on high priority. I hate to think how slow low priority is. With other software we have used, a late cancellation would usually mean a lost credit however, we have noted multiple clients who have been able to rebook with their credit after a late cancellation. We were also overcharged by over $10000 once which was another mess. I could go on and on with all the issues we have faced. Any pros are most definitely outweighed by the cons.

As others have noted, there are serious glitches and Momence “support” is entirely lacking. I have awhile left on my contract but will switch the MOMENT I finish demos and researching new options. Dealing with Momence is a small business owner’s worst nightmare. I reported an issue a week and a half ago and they refuse to help me. First they said it was resolved, second they lied and said it was my fault and third they said I had to fix the problem myself. They will respond to your inquiry after a few days, but they won’t help you. I felt like pulling my hair out and banging my head against the wall with the nonsensical responses I received. In all that time, they could have just fixed the issue! In addition to my waivers and membership contracts being lost with “signature outdated” (a feature they added without my knowledge or consent), I have had confirmation emails go out with the WRONG time (I mean, come on! That’s basic!) and I’ve had students show up to the studio for classes that happened on the past because they displayed incorrectly. Save yourself the headache and choose a competent company! Facebook groups in my field are filled with other users who have had similar and even worse issues with Momence. I can’t wait to be done with them.

It used to be good 2+ years ago. Something drastic has changed and it’s very disappointing.

Customer service and support is beyond a joke.

Amazing! Everyone I worked with at Momence during the transition from our previous platform to Momence was incredibly helpful, knowledgeable, and kind. Since switching to Momence, we have a one person of contact that we reach out to with any issues and they have been extremely responsive and I don't have to worry about an issue being ignored. Momence also allows our staff members to be more hands off with the management of our Pilates classes and Massage appointments, which frees them up for other task.

Pros

We like how seamlessly our schedule and VOD was integrated into our website. We also like how easy the app is to use for our clients for purchasing packages and scheduling appointments and classes.

Cons

I feel the website integration could be improved by returning the clients to the businesses website to schedule more classes instead of taking the clients to Momence.com when they click "book more".

FACT: probably one of the best softwares I've experienced HOWEVER when you don't show up to a meeting, not once, not twice nor on the third time, I'm OUT! Not to forget mentioning my first onboarding manager quit during my onboarding process. (red flag number 1) The second red flag was when I was charged during my onboarding and then a second time in the same month. When I asked for a refund, it never came. Currently, I'm still waiting as we speak. The third red flag was that after my onboarding manager quit I was left out to dry until I contacted Momence. I was then being onboarded by the \[sensitive content hidden\] . The icing on the cake was, not even the \[sensitive content hidden\] could get our appointments scheduled, show up on time or show up at all. Unorganized, overwhelmed and lacking the customer support experience necessary to get the job done. A month of my life, and time wasted for what, during a holiday month and spent away from my family to end up with nothing and right back where I started. Shame on you MOMENCE. You claimed to be the best, you are very much the best and not following through. Such a shame. I would have been an excellent customer for you and probably your biggest cheerleader. I hope the rest of you can get a better experience than I. Good Luck!

Very pleased. It was referred to my by a friend who has been using Momence for her studio for nearly a year. Their onboarding + support team is super knowledgable and most have experience with MindBody, which I used in a previous studio, so its easy to get clarification on certain things. In general, the communication with Momence team has been outstanding.

Pros

Super easy to use interface, even our "tech challenged" staff and students are able to access their accounts and sign up for classes with ease. The tech support team at Momence is fantastic. They offer a ton of support and respond to inquiries within hours (sometimes even minutes). If there is not an answer for a question, they will figure it out and get back to you once its been resolved.

Cons

I wish there were more reporting options when running payroll to share with our staff. Currently we have the option to send them the rosters of their classes, and for teachers who are teaching multiple ones per week, its too much information. They are seeing who registered, what they paid for the class, how much the studio grossed for that one class, etc. I'd like to see this a bit more streamlined (ex. how many students attended each class and thats it).

Great. Receptive. Informative. Each member I deal with has been helpful, eager, enthusiastic. It is a wonderful product that fill in the spaces for the smaller studio and teacher and is designed to keep our focus on our community rather than our computer.

Pros

Easy to use, integrated functionality with everything I need in one place, constantly improving, adapting and responding to and open to my recommendations and needs.

Cons

The software is still growing so there are functions that are on their way, in beta or theory. If you are willing to be patient and grow with the software, all is good.

We set up a few things incorrectly, had good support to rectify it but maybe things were not super obvious to us (eg we set up one membership as a specific interval when it should have been an absolute interval) or we did not take all the training in or did not get enough training...

Seamless! I am beyond grateful to have found Momence. The software is beautiful, well organized, well executed, and incredibly managed.

Pros

This software is stunning. The capabilities are incredible and the customer service is top-notch. I have been beyond satisfied working with them and implementing Momence. I opened just opened a new yoga studio and having Momence from the very beginning has made the process quite easy.

Cons

When I find something I'll let you know :) Currently, I am in love with this software and the team.

Great app-based service for schedule management and livestream access, especially in the fitness space.

Pros

My yoga and meditation studio recently switched to this for appointment scheduling, and I can already say the reminders are top-notch. Links to livestream are also easily reached in the app.

Cons

Sometimes the calendar view is overwhelming, as in there's a lot of info displayed or scrolling is hindered.

### "Terrible customer service"

I decided to purchase, they charged me immediately, but did nothing my first on-boarding call. 2 weeks later was supposed to be my second but I couldn’t get a response for days. So I had paid for a product I was unable to use, they hadn’t set me up to use, and left me without an appointment to get it set up. I’ve asked to cancel, and they said they would 2 weeks ago but still have not and are attempting to charge me again.Their salesperson was great. I expected the same from the rest of the experience but their customer service past that point is awful. And they definitely should not be charging until you can use the software.

Pros

Seemed like it would be a good solution for my gym, easy to use

Cons

The customer service once they sign you up and take your money is awful.
