I've had a good experience with AWS Management Console overall. It's one of those tools that gets easier the more you use it. I use it regularly for monitoring systems, checking deployments, remotely accessing EC2 instances, and investigating issues. It's become a tool I rely on almost every day.

Pros

I spend most of my time in AWS because once everything is running there, it becomes the central place for checking on systems, logs, deployments, and infrastructure. I like that I can quickly jump into CloudWatch to investigate an issue, check the status of an EC2 instance, or verify a config change without having to switch between a bunch of different tools. The breadth of services is probably AWS's biggest strength - if there's something I need, there's usually already a service for it.

Cons

AWS can feel complex sometimes. Even after using it for years, I still find myself clicking through multiple screens trying to remember where a particular setting lives. IAM permissions are powerful but can be frustrating when you're debugging why something doesn't have access.

My overall experience with the AWS Management Console has been positive. It provides virtually everything needed to manage cloud infrastructure and applications, from compute and storage to monitoring and security. Despite the learning curve and some usability challenges, I find it to be a robust, reliable platform suitable for both small projects and large enterprise environments.

Pros

The AWS Management Console provides centralized access to a wide range of services. I like the integration between services, the extensive set of features available, and the ability to perform operational tasks without relying solely on the command line. The documentation and infrastructure visibility are also very valuable.

Cons

The interface can be overwhelming for new users, and some settings are spread across multiple screens. Finding specific options sometimes requires several clicks, and navigation is not always intuitive. Additionally, the large number of services can make the overall experience feel complex.

I love the AWS Management Console. There are still some bugs the team need to work on. For example, when signed in, sometimes, the first URL request never loads so you have to refresh the page twice. Some CloudFront distribution graphs also break or reset if you're trying to do anything complex. I still love AWS.

Pros

The AWS Management Console was updated a while back with new UI and it has been so much easier to use since. There are updates daily on the UI almost I can tell that a LOT of effort went into this. The simple and clean design makes it so easy to provision and manage most AWS resources.

Cons

I dislike how naming can sometimes be a little weird. For example, if you set up an AWS EC2 instance on the console, it will name the VPC using weird names which aren't bad but it can be confusing because the VPC then has an internal name and a display name.

Reasons for choosing AWS Management Console

I was provided GCP access with lots of credit for free at university years ago. It was an AWFUL and unreliable experience. You would up a server and it wouldn't show and then show randomly but then disappear again. The GCP docs were also quite poor compared to AWS at the time.

From the perspective of a smaller business and a solo AWS administrator without prior experience, engaging with AWS infrastructure has been a steep learning curve but never fails in fascinating me with the never ending array of services and complex architectures that can be achieved. Coming from a Windows On-prem background the security management is not intuitive initially, but the interfaces are clean and easy to look at, meaning that the inevtiable hours you'll spend staring at the console troubleshooting permissions or errors feels that little bit less tedious.

Pros

It provides direct access to a plethora of enterprise services and solutions in a centralised console that would have traditionally required enormous investment of time, resources and expertise to be able to investigate and/or utilise. The management console has what seems to be an extremely deep learning curve, but if you are somewhat familiar with the way the services are delivered (i.e interactions and distinctions between IAM users; roles; groups; manager vs in-line policies etc) then it can begin to grow into a powerful tool. Once familiarised enough there are plenty of options and third party solutions that can be integrated and architected to automate and standardise on processes for service delivery which I think is where AWS really begins to excel.

Cons

It is a gargantuan task to undertake with little or no experience, unless coming from another cloud provider potentially such as Azure or GCP. To that end you could spend a hundred hours on the platform and still find new services and errors that are completely new to you; when paired with frequent updates and changes to services, architecture and command formatting this can make managing in small or medium businesses a very daunting task. The use of third party tools such as Intruder (automatically scans your env for security concerns) feels like a baseline requirement for security and risk management.

Overall, I’m pretty happy with my experience using the AWS Management Console. The interface is clean, organized, and easy to navigate, making it simple to manage services, deploy resources, and monitor performance in one place. Most tasks like launching VMs, configuring storage, and adjusting settings can be done quickly without much hassle. While some advanced features require add-ons or extra costs, the console itself feels reliable, responsive, and user-friendly. It’s a solid platform that makes cloud management efficient and convenient.

Pros

Easy to use, fast VM creation, and blazing internet speeds. Reliable cloud for teams daily usage and collaboration!

Cons

Good core services, but some features cost extra and require paid add-ons to fully utilize AWS today

Overall experience would be positive. I don't have any experience with it so any page/tab I get to is my first time getting to it. It is easy to navigate, but their documentation is very detailed in teh event I need help with something.

Pros
