Manager, Major Gifts Environmental Services Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "Excellent Value" February 1, 2022 4.0 Excellent overall experience. iWave returns ample data and advice targeted for fund raising professionals, as opposed to simply wealth data. Pros iWave makes it easy to find useful data on individuals or funders whom you suspect as being valuable as donors. This helps the "yes or no" decision on whether to pursue much easier. When donor profile databases are submitted, the returned data is very robust, making prospects lists easy to generate. Cons Drop downs on search fields can feel clumsy at times. May 10, 2018 4.0 iWave Pro is my first go-to online research resource. It is my starting place, providing links to other areas for further research. Pros The 360 Search feature is really great and will always run a search through this feature first, then branch out from there. I also appreciate the addition of the Dun and Bradstreet information as I like to compare that data with ZoomInfo. The Foundations/Charities tab is also highly useful. Being able to download giving history also saves valuable time. Cons The one thing I dislike about the giving history provided through iWave is the inconsistency/accuracy of giving history (donations). I understand this information is provided to iWave by a third party. I've been advised by others in my field that the donation history in iWave is more accurate than Noza however I find that I have to double check often to ensure the gift type is actually as it is listed; more often than not an "Annual Gift" is actually a "Cumulative" gift. I love seeing all the information in one place. Real estate is also great alternative to looking up property in county assessor's office. Cons Tricky to find certain details. Don't love that the screening software now only shows up 25 lines at a time. I wish it was the general search where you can look specifically at the set of data. It provides a lot of good information but not everything I want (and sometimes doesn't have anything on the person I am looking up). But I find it an important tool that I am glad we have. Pros I like the information it provides as far as work, emails, property owned, and donations. Cons I wish I could expand lists beyond seeing 10 results at a time. Ideally I could export so I can manipulate in Excel (for example donations - they may have many and some in one spouse's name, others in the other's name, and some in both (with Mr. & Mrs. ) so an alpha sort doesn't necessarily group them all together so have to toggle around. Also can be a little confusing when looking up multiple properties owned - hard to navigate to all. Cons iWave seems to have a fair bit of tips and tricks for each source offered within the database. It can be challenging to remember which sources offer certain functionalities to effortlessly make the most of each source offered. Cons With the constantly changing features, it often requires administrators to re-teach sections of the software but that’s true of any product. I can find donations that aren't on any other site. Cons The way the search works sometimes in only allowing very specific searches, primarily in the real estate tab. May 10, 2018 5.0 Pros Using PROSearch and validating the excellent results it returns makes my job so much easier. Also, when I'm updating the propensity of a prospect, VeriGift oftentimes gives me more recent and numerous gifts than other tools I've tried. iWave's training and customer service is top notch, too. I switched from another well-known prospect research tool a few years back and I'm so glad I did. We're a smaller organization and for the money, iWave is the best prospect research tool out there! Cons The only potential drawback is that iWave does not currently integrate as easily with our donor management system, but what's really cool is iWave listened to it's clients and is working out a solution. May 16, 2018 4.0 Pros The info I find in Real Estate, Political Giving, Donations and Foundations/Charities is very helpful. When I can't find the name of a property owner, I like how I can enter the address and it shows me the name of the owner. I also like how it shows all the properties that a person owns and the value of the property. Depending on how in depth I want to get, I can just check out what's on my screen or do a PROscreen and download or print. Cons I don't usually get much from ZoomInfo, RelSci, Dun and Bradstreet, Thomson Reuters and Insider Filings that is usable for me. Also, I always wonder how reliable Prospects of Wealth is. It collects so many different data points onto one screen and is super easy to use and understand. Cons There are no significant cons for me. I use it every day, all day. Pros Interface is very easy to use. Makes a good resource to use with other products when comparing results especially for finding donations from other non-profits. Listens to customers and adds enhancements according customer suggestions. Cons Adding dates is cumbersome in profiles. Pros Keep trying to enhance the product and its offerings for non-profits. Some of the changes have set us back but the trade-offs have been mostly positive. This is one of our main go-tos for screening and for rating information. Cons Would like to be able to put a name and company in to get company address information other than HQ. Would like the stock information and donation information to be more robust. Pros The lookup tools for real estate and charitable giving are really unmatched in this sector, and extremely useful Cons SEC forms are somewhat jumbled, screening function needs work to make sense for large organizations. Pros iWave is easy to use and we get good information out of our screens. Cons At this point, I cannot think of any additional features that we would like.
