April 18, 2023 4.0 Pros Since the merger of INE and Elearnsecurity, the number of courses and certifications available has hit a good balance of the cost and quality. There is a commitment to continuously upgrade the certifications. Pros I like the content library and the certifications especially for cybersecurity. The content is solid and helps to provide the learner with a solid foundation in the skills before entering into the field or transitioning from networking/systems adminstration. Cons The courses are great, but I wish they would be up to date much quicker. Also I wish the content contained more big picture explanations about why something is done rather than just showing how to use a specific tool. Then dive into the tool and provide comprehensive capstone like assignments. Some of the videos look like like they are playing from a VHS tape on a CRT display. Pros Their marketing is on point and good enough to trick you in thinking these are a partner you can trust. Cons Labs suck. Old platform. Laggy as heck. Half of the time things freeze as you are working and guess what? Start again. I implement in my network what I learn. Also I use INE as a starting point when I want to discover a new technology. Pros Every topic is explained very well, by the qualified people. I used INE mainly for networking courses but in the years INE platform was growing from networking (CCIE preparation) to Cyber Security, Cloud, Data Science. Any people who work in IT will find a course suitable for them. Cons I wish INE to provide more labs, and the process of starting the lab to be more faster.I wish the topology and primary config used for the courses to be in CML, EVE-NG and GNS3 format. December 15, 2023 4.0 Previously, I used e-Learn Security, which was mainly PDF + Labo-based, but its successor service, INE, is movie + Labo-based. Both have their advantages and disadvantages, but I personally prefer the PDF + Labo-based learning, which allows me to progress at my own pace. This is because I am not a native English speaker and learning by the video is very time consuming. Also, I sometimes have to watch the same one over and over again to understand it. You can also add subtitles, which helps somewhat. It would be nice if translations in Japanese could also be added to all videos. Pros In Labo, where explanations of questions can be viewed on video. This is helpful because it is easier to understand than reading the text. Cons Having too much content and not knowing which to choose. This also makes me unsure if the course I'm choosing is the right one, and I still don't know what Skill Dive is for or if it's worth the money (so I haven't bought it). Review Source BS Baljit S. It's very practical, because we don't need to download anything to our machine, everything is already available in the INE itself so that we can continue our studies. Pros Having laboratories for us to practice in helps us to develop faster. Quizzes also help to reinforce what we've studied. Well-structured content for beginners, so that at the end of your studies, as well as gaining the practice and knowledge to work in the market, you also have the chance to become certified.
