### "Great Educational Tool"

March 18, 2022

4.0

Overall, I highly recommend EdPuzzle. It is a great tool for student engagement and holds student attention well.

Pros

EdPuzzle is an engaging tool for students to use. Students love learning through videos, and EdPuzzle holds student attention because it allows you to insert questions throughout the video. I also love that it has the automatic pause when the tab is changed; this requires students to focus on the video rather than just let it play. I appreciate that it automatically grades multiple choice questions. You are able to trim videos and delete sections to really customize the assignment to meet the needs of your students.

Cons

The limit on video storage with the free version is disappointing. I would like if the software had the capability of an answer key for open ended questions.

Switched from

Safeshare limited videos that I could create. I also prefer the questions being directly within the video instead of in a separate assignment.

It’s free and increases engagement and learning. It easily can be added to my canvas page.

Pros

My kids like using edpuzzle. They always like watching a video and I like the quick checks I can insert where I want them to be!

Cons

Sometimes when you make a mistake in the set up, it’s hard to fix.

### "Great Overall"

December 3, 2025

4.0

Pros

Ensures that a student will watch a video as per an assignment, and provides great options for the questions given. Teachers can also adjust and leave notes as needed.

Cons

Was a bit slow when it came to videos and would sometimes reset progress if it didn’t save correctly.

### "Edpuzzle is a MUST HAVE!"

March 4, 2025

5.0

My overall experience has been great with Edpuzzle. There are videos for every skill, standard, and subject area that include questions for students to answer as they watch. You can also edit and add your own questions as well.

Pros

I love that you can upload any YouTube video or video you create yourself and add questions to ensure students are engaged in learning.

Cons

If a school blocks YouTube, students are unable to view even while using Edpuzzle.

### "2024 EdPuzzle: Ridiculous Limitations on Content Amount "

October 23, 2024

5.0

Pros

\- Variety of available videos - Ease of integrating with common school district student platforms - Ability to edit videos that are already made

Cons

For the last 10 years, I have used Edpuzzle in a variety of school settings and was relatively pleased with it's predictability, wide range of available videos, and features available in the Free Plan. However, a recent structure change in the account types has left me entirely disappointed and limited my use of Edpuzzle. The new limit of 20 videos for the free version is unrealistic. Additionally, deleting videos doesn't result in the having more available storage space. The only advice for educators who do not have a school able to purchase the Pro Plan is the following "If you're not able to share Edpuzzle or get your school to upgrade to a Pro School plan, you might consider getting an individual Pro Teacher license to enjoy unlimited videos." A cost of $162 a year for a profession that is historically and widely underpaid, it is disappointing this is the solution from an education company tailored to teachers and students. I understand that there are licenses available to districts, but in large or underfunded districts, approval for these licenses is not a guarantee. Placing a price tag on access to available resources contributes to the disparities that exist between affluent school districts and low income school districts. Additionally, the solution that encourages teachers to just buy it themselves exploits the characteristic selflessness of teachers. Why not just refer 3 teacher friends to get a 3 video increase for each new teacher signed up? Each teacher at my school has an account linked to our learning management system. Again it is exploiting the teachers' willingness to do more work in order to better serve their students by asking the teacher to jump through another hoop to 'earn' videos. It should not be the responsibility of teachers to recruit more users for a edtech company that generates millions of dollars in revenue yearly. Overall, the recent plan changes have left me feeling less than "empowered" as an educator, which is what is the alleged mission of Edpuzzle.

### "Edpuzzle Enhances Student Learning"

March 28, 2025

5.0

Overall, our teachers use the EdPuzzle/Canvas integration frequently for formative assessment and love it.

Pros

Edpuzzle integrates well with our Learning Management System, Canvas and allows for ease of grade pass back!

Cons

Sometimes the question-adding feature can be a bit limited in terms of customization, which can make it harder to create varied or more complex assessments. Also, sometimes video playback can be spotty.

### "A must-have tool for teachers and professors"

May 7, 2024

4.0

Pros

I like being able to upload lectures so I don't have to repeat the same information over and over. It's helpful for students to refer back to and makes my job easier. I also love the options for students to interact with the material as they watch and all of the customizations.

Cons

The auto-grading doesn't send notifications through my LMS (Canvas), so I don't know when students finish videos unless I manually go in and check.

### "Edpuzzle for Student Engagement"

August 17, 2022

5.0

Overall, I love Edpuzzle. I highly recommend Edpuzzle for engagement and a fun way to incorporate checks for understanding. It is one of my favorite programs to share with colleagues, and to use when I am planning to run educational activities.

Pros

I love Edpuzzle for video editing and embedding questions, comments, and notes into assigned videos. It is a great tool to create learning resources. I currently use it to create videos for students as a part of my company's academic outreach team, and have used it in the classroom setting as well. I also appreciate that the program tracks progress and has an embedded gradebook once you embed questions and answers within the video.

Cons

On Edpuzzle, I wish there was a better way to collaborate with colleagues. For example, I wish there could be more than one "teacher" or account holder for a group. I also wish there was an easier way to cut information from videos.

### "Still one of the best classroom video platforms on the market."

October 20, 2025

4.0

I love Edpuzzle. It's hands down one of the top products for the classroom. Grading is fast and easy, and students can easily continue the videos at home.

Pros

As a whole, it's a better way to show videos to my class because I can require them to answer questions to ensure they're paying attention.

Cons

They have a limit on the number of videos for free accounts, and if something went wrong (because there are definitely some confusing things with the UI), those extra videos count towards your limit.

### "Amazing tool for flipping classrooms"

October 31, 2022

5.0

EdPuzzle has made a huge difference in my teaching practice. I love how easy it is to assign videos with questions to my students to pre-teach or check for readiness on a topic before coming to class. By clicking on a video I assigned to a class, I can quickly see who completed the video and how well students understood specific topics by looking at questions students got wrong. Though there is an extensive collection of pre-made EdPuzzles online for educators to use immediately, creating my own EdPuzzles has been an intuitive process. Though it takes time to create each EdPuzzle, the fact that I can share these EdPuzzles with my colleagues and reuse them from year to year makes it worth the effort. Furthermore, it is easy to duplicate and edit EdPuzzles so I can tweak and improve them. Overall, EdPuzzle is an incredible tool that has improved my teaching practice.

Pros

EdPuzzle is an easy-to-use website that has allowed me to flip large portions of the didactic part of my lessons for students to complete outside of the classroom so we can use class time to do activities or tackle more challenging concepts. EdPuzzle makes it easy to find pre-made videos with questions created by other educators, or find a YouTube video online and add your own questions throughout a video. I also upload my own videos that I have recorded and then add questions for students to answer. I like how there are different types of questions that I can add, and I can even add a note with a link with more information. Teachers can create classes in Edsby, so it is easy to track student completion (I use EdPuzzles as exit or entrance tickets). I also appreciate how easy it is to reset an EdPuzzle for students to reattempt and it is easy to share an EdPuzzle with colleagues for them to use. Most importantly, these videos can be reused yearly to save educators time!

Cons

I would love to see EdPuzzle be able to integrate with learning management systems so that the grades in EdPuzzle could automatically be updated in the LMS. It can be difficult to find the exact moment in the video to add a question - wish there was greater sensitivity in the timer placement. The phone app could also use improvement as students have reported it is quite buggy and videos are slow to load.

### "My expirience of use Edpuzzle"

May 30, 2023

5.0

Edpuzzle is often praised for its ability to transform passive video-watching into an interactive learning experience. I appreciate the platform's features that allow eme to embed questions, comments, and notes within videos, engaging students and promoting active learning.Tool offers educators the flexibility to create their own video content or utilize pre-existing videos from a wide range of sources. This allows me to curate resources that align with my specific curriculum or instructional goals, tailoring the content to meet the needs of their students.I can track students' responses to embedded questions, view analytics on student engagement, and provide targeted feedback. This data-driven approach helps me identify areas of improvement and personalize instruction. But also I have found less favorable aspects: limited video editing capabilities and limited question types (I have a desire for additional question types, such as matching or sequencing, to enhance the variety of assessment options available).

Pros

1\. Interactive video features: Edpuzzle allows educators to make any video interactive by adding questions, comments, and notes at specific points in the video. I appreciate the ability to engage students actively and assess my understanding through embedded questions, ensuring that learning is active and dynamic.2. Customization options: Edpuzzle offers customization features that allow educators to personalize the learning experience. I can trim videos, add my own voiceovers, and create custom video lessons to align with specific learning objectives and student needs. This flexibility enables me to tailor content to my teaching style and address the unique requirements of my students.3. Assessment and feedback: Edpuzzle provides features for assessing student learning and providing feedback. I can view detailed analytics and data on student progress, including how many times a student watched a video, their responses to questions, and overall performance. This data helps inform instructional decisions and allows for targeted interventions and personalized feedback.

Cons

1\. Limited video editing capabilities: While Edpuzzle offers basic video editing features, I have a desire for more advanced editing options. For example, I have mentioned a need for more precise trimming, advanced video effects, or the ability to merge multiple videos into one.2. Limited question types: Edpuzzle provides several question types, such as multiple-choice, open-ended, and true/false. However, I have a desire for additional question types, such as matching or sequencing, to enhance the variety of assessment options available.

### "Edpuzzle rocks!"

July 24, 2023

Edpuzzle is a user-friendly program that can help teachers save time and add an interactive digital component to their daily lessons.

Pros

Edpuzzle allows our teachers to incorporate technology into their lessons seemlessly.

Cons

The only trouble we had with the program was integrating it into our Schoology platform.

Reason for choosing Edpuzzle

Pricing! Also the K-12 offerings were for all subject areas and grade bands.

### "You didn't even know you wanted this"

April 18, 2022

5.0

This product opens up infinite options for flipped and hybrid learning. My main goal is to use Explain Everything to create my own short instructional videos to upload into EdPuzzle, and then add quiz questions to those. I learned about Ed Puzzle and Explain Everything from the Modern Classroom project, an initiative to help teachers create content students can use independently in class, to free up the teacher to provide individualized and small group instruction.

Pros

There is a firehose of learning content available on youtube, and some of it is superb. But then again, it's not exactly right for my students, you think. First of all, it's too long. Secondly, there's one section that goes over my students' heads, and I think they'll check out when they get to that part. If I could cut out those parts, it would be perfect. But then again, even if it was perfect, students might just zone out and not pay attention. If only I could build in some active participation? <frustrated, tired sigh> I'll just use this worksheet. No, teachers! Do not despair! EDPUZZLE is the tool of your dreams. It's so good, you might not even grasp what you can do with it at first. Allow me to explain: you can take ANY youtube video, put it into your account on Edpuzzle, crop out parts you don't want, AND... (here's the kicker!) you can write multiple choice and open ended questions and insert them at any point in the video that you choose! Then you can assign the video to students for view in or out of class, and the video will stop at each point you've entered a question to provide a quick check for understanding. And you will automatically receive their answers. Yes, this is real. But I don't have time to do that right now, you think? That's OK, because there are thousands of short videos that you can search by topic that other teachers have already created with the questions built in. And you can very easily find and edit them for your own classroom use.

Cons

It took me a few tries to understand the potential of this product, and to fine-tune my content. But this is a minor issue.

### "Excellent EdPuzzle"

October 9, 2023

5.0

EdPuzzle rocks for video integration and the flipped classroom model. It really supports student engagement and learning.

Pros

Edpuzzle is so simple to create content in. You can use You Tube videos or your own content. I love that there are different question choices and that it stops the video when you want them to answer a question. Also there is a no skip option which helps with students actually watching the video. It is also self-grading for multiple choice.

Cons

Now, like most edtech companies, you have to pay premium for more space and other advanced features. Also sometimes the program glitches and students have to make sure they are logged into their Google account, but overall it has worked very well starting out this year.

### "Organized and Synergetic E-Learning Video Platform"

July 3, 2022

5.0

This is a great resource, especially for a flipped, blended, or online classroom!

Pros

There are many things I appreciate about EdPuzzle, including firstly that is allows Google Classroom imports directly to a course that the teacher has created. Also, the feature that sets due dates and shows what percentage of work a student has completed as of the due date is very important for integrity standards. Another great feature is the set-up for organizing lessons into to courses, and sections/chapters within those courses. I have gone back easily to old lessons within seconds, rather than digging through old files. The teacher is able to use videos from different platforms (YouTube, etc), or upload their own, and can edit and insert questions as desired.

Cons

One setback is that if a student submits a video after the due date, there is not a feature to notify the teacher. Unless the teacher goes back to check regularly, a student’s work could go ungraded for a while. Also, there is a pro version, which is paid. I did fine with a regular teacher subscription.

### "Puzzled for Edpuzzle "

June 8, 2022

4.0

Edpuzzle helped me flip my lessons when covid hit. I wish there were more features to boost engagement such as a pop quiz or game based design.

Pros

I liked that Edpuzzle holds students accountable for their work. I do wish that there were more advanced questions to integrate.

Cons

The accountability piece is very low and mid tier. Students can simply stream it and not be active in their learning.

### "EdPuzzle: An Important Piece to a Planning Puzzle "

May 1, 2022

5.0

I’m so glad I was told about it from another teacher years ago. I’ve been using it ever since, and my students really appreciate the chunking of the video/learning.

Pros

EdPuzzle allows me to create videos that my students can watch in their own for review or flipped lessons. I can create step by step videos, have it pause for my students to work, then play to check their answers. It also has a ton of videos with questions that other teachers have created, that I may use as is, or change to meet my class’ needs.

Cons

There really isn’t much that I don’t like. If I had to be super picky, I’d say that i couldn’t move a student from one class to another. I’m sure if I would’ve contacted customer service they would’ve helped, but I didn’t.

Pros

### "easy edpuzzle"

June 29, 2022

5.0

I love the ease of use and assign videos/lessons to students weekly. I make them self paced so students have a few days to complete them. It gives students a different option when learning about a topic.

Pros

EdPuzzle has lessons that are already made for you. There are questions through the video to check students understanding. I even took a video I made and uploaded it to Edpuzzle and add questions.

Cons

Sometimes I can not find a lesson on a topic geared for my littles.
