Cons

I don't have any cons for the product. I would sugvest more types of designs to use as well as integration with other products.

### "A Robust investment "

December 10, 2025

3.0

HighQ is a robust investment that is highly valued by medium to large law firms and corporate legal departments that require top-tier security and a flexible toolset to manage the full lifecycle of legal projects and client engagement. However, potential users must be prepared for a significant investment in both cost and training to fully unlock its advanced capabilities.

Pros

It Offers tools for visualizing data (like task statuses, activity trends, and key metrics) through customizable dashboards, allowing teams to monitor performance and gain insights.

Cons

As a comprehensive, enterprise-level platform from Thomson Reuters, HighQ is generally not cheap. Pricing is often high and dependent on the number of users and storage requirements.

### "A secure and professional collaboration platform for structured worflows"

March 10, 2026

4.0

HighQ is a reliable collaboration and document management platform designed for organisations that require security and compliance. Although there is a learning curve once users become familiar with the system, it becomes a valuable tool for managing projects.

Pros

HighQ performs very well in document management and file sharing. It's project management and collaboration tools help teams coordinate tasks, share updates and workflows efficiently. For organisations that rely on secure collaboration, HighQ provides good value for money.

Cons

One of the main challenges is ease of use, new users need some time to become comfortable with the interface. Customer support is ok, but the response time can vary on the level of support.

### "HighQ is great"

April 3, 2025

4.0

The ability to build automated workflows is terrific. The ability to create specific views is great. The amount of information one can store is pretty good. It's useful to have one Thomson Reuters representative.

Pros

In my 2+ years of using HighQ Collaborate on a daily basis, the simplicity of the UI along with the platform's robustness has been a major plus point. Our IT team was able to set it up in a very bespoke manner to suit our project parameters and we haven't really needed to tweak or change things since. The export and import functionality has been a literal lifesaver as its allowed us to really optimise our workflows to efficiently deal with varying tasks & instructions, and to carry data from Collaborate to our other tools. We were also able to use inbuilt reporting system to develop a quick MI tool for progress tracking at a glance. In the few instances when there have been outages, we found the Customer Support to be top notch & they provided us realistic ETA's instead of telling us what they thought we wanted to hear.

Cons

There are no downsides as such, but there has been a recurring glitch, where forms submitted for a task, will reappear at times in the middle of my queue if I've got filters on. This can sometimes get really disorienting as I see work I've already completed re-appear in my queue.

### "Organized and Efficient with HighQ"

January 15, 2026

5.0

My overall experience with HighQ was a pleasant one. I use it on a daily basis and my job has become much more organized and efficient because of it.

Pros

What I liked the most about the HighQ app was it helped me manage documents in a safe place everyday.

Cons

The thing I liked the least about HighQ is it took a minute to understand the whole layout but once I did it worked out very well.

### "HighQ Collaborate-Exceptional for Internal and External Team Collaboration"

December 20, 2021

5.0

I can only provide high praise for the solution - which is simple, robust and elegant - and for support and client success representatives that we work with.

Pros

I and our Firm have used HighQ Collaborate since the fall of 2014 and have found it and the support team behind it to be consistently exceptional. There just isn't any other solution out there that truly measures up for administrators and end-users alike. It is both robust and user friendly. We rarely have to provide end-user training for this solution and have not sacrificed but only gained functionality. Few software solutions measure up to this one.

Cons

I promise that I am just a client and am not on the payroll for TR/HighQ. This solution has very few flaws and TR/HighQ support does a fantastic job of listening to their clients and providing regular updates that are based on user community recommendations. They have excellent systems for this which include an online dev community and a solid knowledgebase that can be searched and referenced. That being said - there is one thing that I still wish they would get right... When creating a "choice list" for an iSheet there isn't an easy way to add a long list of items (something that SharePoint lists do exceptionally well). This would be beneficial if you wanted to create a list of 50 states for a choice list or if you had a client that had 100's of facilities that you wanted to make available in a choice list drop menu. These unfortunately have to be entered individually and manually. Also when adding a new entry (e.g. if a client acquires a new facility) the admin has to add it to the bottom of the list and then manually sort it up to its proper alpha-order spot in the long choice list. These tasks can be time consuming but are usually rare and one-off activities. While they are annoying - they are miniscule concerns and the massive benefits of this tool far outshine these small burrs.

Reason for choosing HighQ

Ease of use, better administration capabilities - all around better solution that I believed our legal teams and clients would enjoy using. That proved to be correct.

### "Easy to use, secure data "

August 30, 2022

4.0

Sharing documents in a secure way is easy with HighQ. I am confident that the data put onto the system is secure, and I am also confident that only the users granted access can see the documents I want them to see.

Pros

Uploading and structuring documents was very easy, which is key when sharing important legal documents with a client.

Cons

Sometimes the software doesn't work, as in access to the web browser is down. This is less than ideal if you need to share large documents with clients urgently.

### "Worth it for small law departments"

December 2, 2019

4.0

Very positive experience! We are doing work of a senior paralegal/junior attorney through automation and administration by a legal assistant. Highly efficient and once heavy lifting on automation was complete, easy to implement with users as very user friendly.

Pros

I know that the contracts being signed are done properly without attorney oversight. I can spend my time doing actual drafting work vs. more administrative customization work. Made contracting more self-service to the business and will continue to implement this more over time. High version control and easy to update standard language and know the next contract to be signed will include it without version control issues and training the business.

Cons

Wish there were more contract management features for organizing and managing existing executed agreements. Had to complete work around through Datasheets.

### "Contract Express - Best Document Automation Out There"

November 26, 2019

5.0

We're capable of generating estate planning document packages that can contain up to 15 documents and total more than 200 pages, and they're all driven by a single questionnaire within Contract Express. The days of manually assembling complex documents are over.

Pros

Contract Express makes it very easy to automate documents. You can program small, simple documents in a very short amount of time. It's so intuitive that your average power user could learn how to automate a document in 20 minutes, so not every project requires someone with programming experience. However, the software is also capable of scaling up to handle complex, multi-document packages with complex branching logic as well.

Cons

This is a minor quibble, but the documentation at the time (back in 2016) was somewhat lacking. While their training and support teams were amazing and responsive, we sometimes just wanted to dive in and read a manual and learn for ourselves, but we had a tough time finding the answers we needed without getting a person on the phone.

### "A must have technology"

November 26, 2019

5.0

Pros

This software is a must have for any law firm or in-house legal department. It is well designed, functions without material flaw, and continues to be improved. It materially increases the speed and accuracy of contract deployment and that is just the begining.

Cons

The written knowledge base/manual could and should be improved.

Reason for choosing HighQ

We actually used Contract Express and BrightLeaf side by side. There was no comparison between the two. Contract Express was the clear winner.

### "So far, so great!"

November 25, 2019

5.0

I have only been using ContractExpress for about 2 months, but it has been extremely beneficial in helping our customers streamline creating forms for their clients. Looking forward to many more months!

Pros

The customer service has always been second to none. I've sent over a handful of questions, and I always get a response back the same day!

Cons

Using this software was a steep learning curve for me, but with only a couple of hours of training, I caught on very quickly.

### "Secure and powerful, but not the easiest to use"

April 8, 2026

4.0

Pros

What I liked most about HighQ is its secure and well-structured collaboration environment - it makes document sharing, workflow management, and client interaction very efficient. It’s especially strong for managing sensitive data, with good automation and customization options, even if it takes a bit of time to fully master.

Cons

What I liked least about HighQ is that it can feel a bit complex and not very intuitive at first, so there’s a real learning curve. The interface isn’t always the most modern, and setup or customization can take time. Pricing is also relatively high compared to other collaboration tools.

### "Organize and useful"

March 24, 2026

4.0

Overall, my experience with HighQ was positive. It was helpful for keeping documents organized, sharing files, and managing work in a more central place. The biggest challenge was getting comfortable with the platform in the beginning, but after that it became much easier to use.

Pros

What I liked most about HighQ was how organized it kept everything. It made document management, file sharing, and collaboration easier because everything was in one place instead of spread across different tools. Once I got used to it, it helped make work feel more structured and easier to track.

Cons

What I liked least was the learning curve. At first, some parts of the system were not very intuitive, so it took a little time to figure out where everything was and how to use certain features efficiently. It can feel a little overwhelming when you first start using it.

### "Reliable Platform for Document Management and Team Collaboration"

April 20, 2026

5.0

Overall I've had a good experience with HighQ for managing documents and working with others it's a good deal and makes sharing files easy however it can take some time to learn and support can be slow at times.

Pros

The best things about HighQ for me were how well it handled documents and how well it let teams work together it is pretty easy to use lets you share files quickly and is a good deal for professional work needs,

Cons

The thing I liked least about HighQ was that it can take a while to get used to especially for new users sometimes customer service may take a while and in some ways the whole experience may not be as intuitive as with simpler tools.
