Even for those with not much accounting experience can use this software at a basic level. Pros The versatility to use it among many types of businesses. It is an intuitive program that suits small to medium businesses. Customization of reports for accounting purposes is very useful. Customization of invoicing and the use of classes for project management can span different types of companies needs. Price point is fair especially when compared to larger ERP systems that often contain too many bells and whistles and make it harder for broader use among staff. Customer and Client support is friendly and usually resolves issues or questions. Cons Quickbooks will tend to update the format/use of reports and dashboard that sometimes does not result in better outcomes but just having to relearn a process. Working in accounting, one likes to move thru inputting and reporting with ease and the constant "improvements" can sometimes slow down work. August 13, 2026 4.0 My overall experience with QuickBooks Online Accountant has been positive, allowing for our organization to easily handle our financials, pull reports, and provide real time updates. It's helped to streamline processes, create detailed reports for our BOD, and has a low overhead cost! Pros QuickBooks Online Accountant is a great resource for allowing multiple users, across different locations, instantaneous access to the financial records for the organization. This is really important for a fully remote organization where staff members live across the USA as well as on other continents. Cons QuickBooks Online Accountant can be very difficult to learn for someone who hasn't used it before. There are times when it's difficult to find out where updates or changes need to be made, which take a while to determine for someone who hasn't had the opportunity to or experience in researching previously. It was very frustrating for a long time. I do like how it uses catagories that match your tax software. Pros I love how you can take a picture of your receipts and it auto fills for you. I also like that you can make rules for certain transactiins to follow and it auto sorts your expenses and income. Cons I have 2 businesses and dont use to many features. They charge us $410 fir each account and it has to have separate logins and in order to do 1 login and 2 businesses it was gonna charge us several hundred a month. Crazy. It also disconnected from my llc bank account and when i reconnected it it duplicated several transactions. As soon as i found why things were not matching up, i deleted the transactio s. A week later it reduplicated the same ones i had deleted. For my sol prop it missed speratic transactiins and never lost connection to my account. I had to go through all my statements and hand type in the ones that were missing... about 50 total.... also frustrating... I would still recommend it to other finance teams, just know there is a bit of a learning curve at the start. Pros Been using quickbooks accountant for over 2 years now, mainly for our own bookkeeping and GL. For what we pay I think its worth it, especially compared to some of the bigger ERP tools that charge way more for basically the same core accounting stuff. Support has been pretty good too. Cons Some features are not easy to understand at first. I had to search for where things were in the menus. At first it was super intimidating but their AI features and simple setup has made it a breeze getting used to the system and inputting all of our accounting information. Pros Support is quick and responsive all the time which is it's only saving grace. Cons Relying on a software that is online only means that if there are glitches or errors because of it's network or code executed in a webpage, this critically damages your books. Frequently quickbooks online will say that everything is correct and up to date when in reality there are numerous sync issues and entries duplicated by system glitches, also the fact that it ignores currency conversion means that what you had expected as correct is wrong and ensures you have hundreds of days of investigating to do to track down issues.
