I am always grateful when my professors allow us to take exams through Proctorio rather than in a physical testing center. Pros What I love about Proctorio as a user is that it allows me to take exams anytime and anywhere through online proctoring. It makes testing much more convenient and less stressful. Cons Sometimes the Proctorio extension won't show up when I go to take the exam, but once I remove the extension and then redownload it to my browser it works great! The screen recording and proctoring functions of Proctorio have enabled me to participate in exams that I would otherwise need to schedule and appointment and move my schedule around for. It also allowed me to complete my degree during a global shutdown when everything transitioned to online. Cons There were times when I would have to uninstall and reinstall the software because it was not activating properly. Otherwise the actual function works quite well. Before I only heard about how much my peers hated it, I'm guessing it was because of the Covid year, but I went in and I love it. It is so much easier and less stressful than the alternative options. Proctorio is much more convenient and flexible for me to use. Pros I like the flexibility of being able to take my exams whenever and wherever I want. It helps me accommodate already stressful exams into my busy schedule. I also prefer to test alone, something I could not do without Proctorio. Cons I get a little more stressed than I do with regular testing because I am worried about being flagged for doing something like fidgeting or gazing off into the distance even though I am not cheating.
