Digital Apprentice Design Used the software for: Less than 6 months ### "Proctorio" June 9, 2023 5.0 Proctorio does a great job at preventing cheating in as many ways possible and protects students for cheaters which ensures that everyone is taking their exams under the same conditions, creating equity for students. Pros Proctorio is great at ensuring that all students are taking their exams under the same conditions and that none have any unfair advantages. Cons Students get frustrated with learning how to use. Student Higher Education Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Wonderful for remote Exams" June 13, 2022 5.0 Overall this is a fantastic program to phase out in-person test proctoring and get the same or better results in test scores and violations. Pros The aspect I like most is the ability to test remotely and without another person present. I have test anxiety and using this program I know the rules and what to expect without variable from human error. Cons I think the worst part about using this software is that when trying to take an exam, you must be on a specific type of internet connection. I always have problems when using a hotspot like used with cell phones. I found this is because the IP address is not a static IP and is tied to a location. We continue to utilize Proctorio as an affordable option that our faculty and students have been satisfied with. Pros The implementation team was amazing and the support team follows up each quarter with usage data and reports statistics on all support provided to students and faculty. Cons Proctorio meets our needs and have not really discovered any cons for us meeting our requirements. Student Higher Education Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "Student Review" November 17, 2022 4.0 Pros The integration of the product as an add-on to my browser makes it very accessible and easy to use. The screen recording and proctoring functions of Proctorio have enabled me to participate in exams that I would otherwise need to schedule and appointment and move my schedule around for. It also allowed me to complete my degree during a global shutdown when everything transitioned to online. Cons There were times when I would have to uninstall and reinstall the software because it was not activating properly. Otherwise the actual function works quite well. Cons Their customer service is terrible. Students are directed to contact them directly for tech support, and when I reached out letting the team know I was facing an issue and had attempted all basic troubleshooting, they told me they didn’t know how to help further and closed the chat. Proctorio keeps tests secure and monitored the students clearly. Cons Proctorio can sometimes “bug out” with chrome and have issues starting and functioning during tests. Before I only heard about how much my peers hated it, I'm guessing it was because of the Covid year, but I went in and I love it. It is so much easier and less stressful than the alternative options. Proctorio is much more convenient and flexible for me to use. Pros I like the flexibility of being able to take my exams whenever and wherever I want. It helps me accommodate already stressful exams into my busy schedule. I also prefer to test alone, something I could not do without Proctorio. Cons I get a little more stressed than I do with regular testing because I am worried about being flagged for doing something like fidgeting or gazing off into the distance even though I am not cheating. It us an easy way to regulate testing. Cons If you do not have a proper internet connection Proctorio will not work. Students rarely run into technical issues, but if they do, Proctorio support is readily available via chat. Overall, compared to competing products, Proctorio does not add stress to the test-taking experience for students. February 17, 2023 5.0 Overall, I really enjoy using Proctorio. I am always grateful when my professors allow us to take exams through Proctorio rather than in a physical testing center. Pros What I love about Proctorio as a user is that it allows me to take exams anytime and anywhere through online proctoring. It makes testing much more convenient and less stressful. Cons Sometimes the Proctorio extension won't show up when I go to take the exam, but once I remove the extension and then redownload it to my browser it works great!
