Zego is top notch. I have used other tools over the years and Zego really is the best value for the investment.

Pros

Zego is fantastic! When onboarding new property managers, it is really ease to train them and bring them up to speed quickly. The utility billing is seamless and saves time performing tasks. When assistance is needed, the customer support team at Zego is top notch. They solve problems AND empower us end users with good training. Plus, they are so friendly!

Cons

There really is not anything about Zego that is negative or a "con". I have found everything with Zego to be wonderful!

Experience so far has been satisfactory. Very easy to refund accidental duplicate payments. Easy method of checking payment history.

Pros

Zego is very user friendly and the autopay and Flexpay options help residents keep current on their rent.

Cons

Using Plaid was a concern for some residents as it continually checked account balances and would not allow payments to process if Plaid thought there was not enough money in the account.

The communication is top notch. I can always reach support. They offer a great portal and I really appreciate how easy it has been to work with Zego.

Pros

The portal is easy to operate. The system is seamless with Rent Manager as our property management system.

Cons

The contract set up process was very involved and lengthy. I understand this is for safety however, for a business with a complex structure it made it challenging to get everything processed.

Not favorable. I get really annoyed with not being able to talk to someone to get issues resolved. And more irritated when they mess up on what I have requested. It is impossible to actually talk to someone that can help you. They are all message takers.

Pros

Most of the time they get our RUBS bills correctly. I like that rent payments download into our software.

Cons

Their help system. You can never call and talk to someone and get an issue resolved. You can submit a help ticket online yourself. And if you call in, the person puts in a help ticket for you. Not helpful. When they get around to helping you, it could be several days. Last time it took 2 weeks and that was after I sent an email to remind them. Also, I try to be as clear as possible in my emails, and often they don't do what I have asked. Then they have to correct what they did and that takes more time. Would be more helpful if we could talk to someone and get the issue resolved like other companies.

Zego integrates seamlessly with Rent Manager, which has made day to day operations much more efficient for our team. Payments post reliably, reporting is clear, and the system works exactly as advertised. It’s very user friendly for both staff and residents, which reduces confusion and cuts down on support requests. Another standout is the flexibility in payment options. Residents can pay online, set up recurring payments, or use alternative methods, which improves on time payments and overall satisfaction. The platform also helps streamline reconciliation and reduces manual work for accounting. Customer service has been consistently helpful and knowledgeable. When questions come up, their team is responsive and able to provide clear answers quickly, which is important in a fast paced property management environment.

Cons

While the platform is strong overall, there can be occasional delays with certain payment types processing or reflecting in real time, depending on the method used. Some fees associated with specific payment options may also be a drawback for residents. From an admin perspective, there are areas in reporting and customization that could be more robust, especially for teams that want deeper financial insights or more tailored workflows.

Lockbox specific - not being able to see images of payments with envelopes/post. Can only view them if they are pushed to an exception queue for decisioning.

I would say that using it with Rent Manager Express (online version) is the best way to maximize your Zego efforts.

Pros

About half of our residents use Zego to make rent payments (with the others writing checks--remember those?) through Rent Manager, our rental management system. The integration is absolutely seamless, and I don't need to log into any additional applications to ensure that we are getting paid.

Cons

For a while, we had an issue with returned payments, but that has been resolved satisfactorily by their support team.

Overall, my experience with Zego has been solid and practical. It does what it’s supposed to do without creating extra work or complexity. The system is easy to navigate, the workflows make sense, and once things are set up, it largely runs in the background. That alone removes a lot of day-to-day friction.

Pros

From a resident's standpoint, everything being in one place just makes life easier. From an operator standpoint, fewer errors, cleaner records, and decent integrations matter more than flashy features—and Zego delivers there. Support has also been solid when issues come up.

Cons

I wish there were at least one free option for transactions (regarding fees), but I do understand that the pricing structure is competitive.

Pros

The best is how easy it is for the tenant to use. Very user friendly and customer service is always quick and helpful.

Cons

The least thing I like is the time we spent without it! Really, there's nothing I can think of that we don't like.

Very happy with Zego payments and the Zego customer support.

Pros

We use Zego for processing resident payments, which allows our customers to use a variety of payment methods we would not otherwise be able to accept. Zego integrates with our management software and automatically updates the resident's account.

Cons

Users sometimes forget to turn off their automatic payments. But Zego has implemented the refund button so that has become easier to correct.

The setup was easy. It doesn't cost us anything to use.

Cons

I really don't have any Cons. Occasionally there might be a hiccup with customer service.

We didn't look at any other products for processing rent payments.

Our experience, espencially with costumer service, has been excellent.

Pros

Zego has made our lives easier by giving us the place for our residents to pay their rent online. We also use Cashpay which is new for us and it's been awesome. We no longer take money orders and instead, they use cashpay and the money goes directly into their account. No more scanners not reading the money orders causing bank errors!

Cons

The only con is when I can't get my bosses to implement another one of their programs!

### "By Far the Worst Customer Service I have Ever Received "

Absolutely horrible.

Pros

I did not like a single thing about this software. Any good features it did have were completely outweighed by the lack of customer service entirely.

Cons

The Customer Service is absolutely horrible. I was completely lied to multiple times, made to fill out forms, sent on goose chases, only for every person I talked to, to tell me something different. I waited 33 days on a response to try to cancel the product, which then put us past the contract required notice and we had to pay for this horrible software for another year. Oh and if a tenant bounces a payment? Forget it, Zego won't tell you until 2 weeks later, so then they get two months behind on rent and you've lost considerable money.

### "Easiest App!"

I love the app - it allows us to do many functions such as setting up events for residents to RSVP and that helps us with the planning of our resident retention.

Pros

This app allows us to get in touch with our residents quickly and efficiently. Messages sent are out quickly and you're able to reply to residents just like in an email. Easy and efficient.

Cons

I don't really have too many complaints as the intent for this app is completely seamless and there's not too much to complain about.
