A must-have for content creators. Pros It is an excellent platform for content creators, even if you are just an amateur trying something for fun. The ability to be supported by people who follow your content is one of the best features, as well as creating a community. Cons It could have more ways of customising the way you can interact with your followers, and the fee it charges could be lower. I can view his free YouTube videos. Every thing else is behind a paywall. I complained numerous times. They just ignore me. The only way you can contact them is through their system, which unlike email , does not allow you to prove you contacted them. I think this deliberate. Very bad company. It also is a great option to continue streaming content off of YouTube. Interface is also visually appealing and easy to use. I felt really comfortable in the tier setup and configuration. Pros As a platform, Patreon is constantly improving and adding new features. I value the security and anti-piracy techniques (video hosting) and so podcast integration (Acast first, now with Spotify). Cons When you provide evergreen content, it's hard to manage for the users and it was difficult to get engagement. So, as I grow, paying a percentage as commision made the platform really expensive for me. Another con was the manage of merchandising. By subscribing, you get bonus episodes, opportunities to interact with the host and community, and other benefits depending on the podcast. Importantly, you also help support the making of the podcast. Pros Patreon works great, and allows me to read the transcript of a podcast, find links to things that are mentioned, and download episodes (which helps if you live in a rural area with poor cell service!). Since subscribing, I've added other podcasts I listen to regularly. I like that Patreon lets me support good podcasts, and help them get made. Cons I have had no complaints about Petreon whatsoever. I will note that they've just released a new version (and logo). But so far it works as well as the previous one. Pros Patreon is a great way to give content to people that want to support you. It's a win-win-win, since people get to support their favourite creators, the creators get money for their work and Patreon also makes money from that. Cons I could not find a dark mode. This is a pretty big downside for me. Besides that, You also can only upload products to your shop that are priced for over 3$.
