Slicing credits by 66% for paying members. Gloo has officially abandoned any pretense of serving ministries. What started as a free resource has been changed repeatedly, and this latest update is the final straw. Not only did they gut the free tier, but now they are coming after their paying Gloo+ members. Slashing the Gloo+ credit limit from 15,000 down to a measly 5,000 credits per month, while keeping the price exactly the same, is a massive 66% reduction in value. To make matters worse, they have the nerve to charge an extra $75/month for "Powerpacks" just to get back a fraction of what we were already paying for. They claim this is to "sustain their commitment," but it is painfully obvious they care more about filling their pockets than supporting their customers. It is a classic bait-and-switch. Do not trust this company with your ministry's communication. Pros It was a good mass texting App and mass emails. They gave the illusion that it was going to be free when they first launched. Cons They keep changing what you pay for, and keep increasing the price!!! They don't seem to care about anything outside of MONEY. It has made getting in contact with people and sending out daily messages so much less of a hassle for everyone. So grateful! Pros Gloo has been super easy to use. With its easy-to-understand tutorials and extremely helpful customer service team we have been able to easily get over hurdles. The ability to organize groups and schedule messages and been one of the best parts! The discount on the new mover cards have also been super great. Love the idea of being able to reach new families! Cons Nothing! Even with small issues, the gloo support team has been there to answer any questions. Austin in specifically has gotten on a few meetings with us to show us through something unfamiliar and teach us more about new offers or add-ons they have. Great ministry tool and they offer great help through the GLOO Help Center. Pros Email is dead, broadcasting a text to our church is more effective. We use the memo feature and create email quality info, plus in the text we add short videos, and links to our worship music with lyrics, which helps introduce our songs before Sunday. Also, we created a text message game for our fall festival guests by using workflows that gave clues leading to trigger words for the next steps. It is now super easy to get prayers requests, feedback, and a lot more. Also, we are a small church and the free ministry tools are the only way we could get into using this system. Cons I would like to create memos without having to create a message first, then save the message, then go back and edit the memo, and then go back and send the text broadcast. Bugs also are a problem, trying to send a video now cancels the text from being delivered. It worked before, right now the engineers are looking for solutions. We love using Gloo over emails because people tend to actually respond and check their texts so it is so much more efficient than sending emails. Pros Compared to other texting systems, what we love most about Gloo is that we never run out of credits for the month and our texts can be as long as we want and include pictures and gifs and memos! Cons The integration with Planning Center isn't always perfect. Although we have found some work arounds, the integration with Planning Center has some glitches. These have been minor and I appreciate the partnership overall, because it will lead to great opportunities in the future.
