Human Interest has been a wonderful solution for our team to have full control over their 401k contributions in a simple, intuitive, fool-proof platform.

Pros

\- Integrates seamlessly with HR platform (Rippling)- Easy to adjust your asset allocation, contributions percentage, and even to classify contributions as Roth and/or Traditional

Cons

While the client portal is easy to use overall, investment tracking leaves some things to be desired. Notably, it would be nice to view my investments graphically, to track market gains vs. personal (and/or company) contributions, and to see a performance breakdown of each investment.

From an end-user perspective, it's simple and straightforward. I like the feature that shows you how to maximize your employer match throughout the year. From a company perspective, we are thrilled with the support we've received and have been satisfied with all solutions they've brought to the table.

Pros

Our company was initially interested in integration with our payroll provider, but we quickly found the customer-service that HI provided was the biggest value-add.

Cons

We loved our first rep and were sad to lose him when we transitioned to a new payroll provider. It makes sense that a rep specializes in certain payroll softwares so they can be familiar when you bring them issues, but we hated to lose our ally. Luckily, the new rep was also a gem.

nothing. bad product, service is awful. They raise prices regularly and are terrible with keeping the plan compliant.

Cons

they filed our reporting late and made us pay the penalty (they would "reimburse us" for their mistake)

I had never implemented a 401k as an employer before and they were very thorough on explaining the options for our small company. It's very nuanced and confusing, but we're happy with the plan we chose.

Pros

The set up and management is SIMPLE. It integrates with our payroll.

Cons

None to speak of. It's simple and straightforward for our 12 employees.

For myself, no pros. I simply asked for my money back because I NEED IT!

I can't just access MY MONEY. In so many words, I have to qualify to borrow my own money.

If I could give zero stars i would. Nothing but problems from this service.Slow processing of funds and contributions, and even slower for customer support: they take 3 weeks to a month to work on any of your requests. 2 weeks to get an answer on if i can get a distribution, a week and half for that issue to be solved after, and now 2 weeks of waiting for said distribution which I still don't have. I've wasted a month doing what Guideline does for you in a day. If your employer uses Human Interest, I would sign up with a different service.Terrible experience would not recommend.

Pros

This product was probably cheap for my employers.

Cons

Over simplified portal design with little options for users, and slow processing for everything.

Slow, unresponsive customer service that refuses to give actual answers. I've been amazed at their ability to take weeks and still not answer questions related to account termination. Can't stress enough for business owners to never use this company.

Pros

Good integration with Rippling. Their wet it and forget it investment strategy is fine and works for many.

Cons

After closing our company 401k account after the company was sold the staff have all had terrible experiences trying to migrate their funds to other accounts. As the company owner, 8 months later I still cannot get my funds from them. They refuse to wire funds to a new provider and their goal is to have you move funds to their alternative company. I've had employees in tears in my office trying to move funds but the barriers Human Interest puts up to move funds should be illegal. This company should be avoided at all costs.

Pros

Human Interest offers an affordable 401(k) plan specifically designed for small businesses, with quality investment funds that have performed well. The onboarding team was excellent, easy to work with, responsive, and efficient. The setup process was smooth and much quicker than expected.

Cons

The online dashboard is somewhat rudimentary and could benefit from a more modern, robust interface.

### "Employers BEWARE!!"

Previous employer used them, consistently gave them issues with contribution consistency (the money was taken from my check but not put into the account until Human Interest decided that "today was the lucky day"). Here I am 9 months after leaving that company and cannot file my fucking taxes on account of their terrible business practices, non-exsistent customer support, and inability to correct their own mistakes ( well, they do exist. But its really just the illusion of customer support, and they don't do a damn thing for you )

Pros

It's an investment account. Nothing more, nothing less

Cons

The customer support is terrible, they make mistakes on your tax forms and then say they're too busy to fix their mistake. At this point I'm going to have to reach out to the IRS, my previous business owner, and Human Interest almost daily to fix their mistake in time for my taxes to be filed. Or consider filing an extension. It's been almost 6 weeks since I brought the issue to their attention and I have had ZERO updates, and ZERO interactions where the employees knew ANYTHING ABOUT WHAT THEY ARE DOING. Make sure you look up the negative reviews on this company , and not just the positive ones with all the buzzwords in them. If you enjoy causing your employees pain and misery come tax time, in addition to answering their questions about why you picked such a terrible plan administrator, go ahead and save a few bucks - just make sure you buy Advil beforehand.

The experience has been just okay. I wish in our initial implementation setup we received the right customer service we deserved.

Pros

I feel the website is user friendly, and the representative that assisted me, \[sensitive content hidden\] was amazing! He was able to help resolve my issue.

Cons

I am not pleased with how the notification/communication process has went during our implementation process. Our company wasn't notified timely, and sometimes our representative did not get back to us.

My overall experience with Human Interest has been very positive. Our dedicated representative is very helpful and always willing to go the extra mile when I have difficult questions.

Pros

The customer support is excellent. They always respond promptly with an answer to my question. I like the ease of use of their system, and it's easily linked to our payroll company.

Cons

I think their fees are a little high, and although this isn't reflective of Human Interest directly, I don't like the fact that the Government implemented a mandatory automatic deduction for employees.

System is easy to use. Rep was able to help me to fill out the roll over form. So I had a good experience.

Pros

Very professional and patient to walk me through the system to show me where I should fill out the form for roll over my 401K balance

None, she did answer all my question. So not anything I didn't like. I really did not have any item that made me confused. Everything went well.

My first overall experience with the customer support team was great. \[sensitive content hidden\] was incredibly helpful, patient, and supportive in getting me access to my 401k account, that I had trouble with redirecting issues for a few days.

Pros

This is my first 401k account and I like the simplicity of the layout, it makes it easier to navigate your portfolio.

Cons

I dislike that there isn’t an email I could reach out to for support. Due to the hours operation and my current work hours, finding a time to get an issue resolved by phone call, can be incredibly inconvenient.

Human Interest has been SO easy to use! I can log into my Human Interest account directly from my Rippling account which makes it so nice. The Human Interest site is so organized that it makes finding, viewing and understanding the information really easy. I also like that each payday I get an email from Human Interest letting me know that a deposit has been made into my 401K.

Pros

My favorite part about Human Interest is the dashboard! I can log in and instantly see the grand total in my 401k and what my change in value and personal rate of return are.

Cons

There really are no cons in my opinion but if anything it would be nice if instead of just a chat bot for customer support if there was an email address or phone number customers could use to ask questions. Sometimes a chatbot is fine but sometimes it can get confused by the question.

Cons

I still have to understand the investment options that may plan is using. And I am unable to access it from Bank Of America's "Net Worth" product. I like this more, if I can access 'Human Interest' account from asset tools like Bank Of America's "Net Worth".

Upon implementation they shared more about their dashboard that has been helpful it keeping things organized and informing of us of changes.
