We are a charity, and the team at MagicBooking has demonstrated that they put service above profit. The ability to suggest new ideas and suggestions is fantastic, and their values of development and reflection align with our own.

Pros

Excellent value with costs based on usage means it has grown as we have grown. The ability to add suggestions and see feedback from their developers seems to be unique and feels like we are all working together.

Cons

They do not have an app, and features that help us communication with parents could be better - but I am sure they are working on that.

From online bookings and real-time availability to secure payments and integrated communication, it eliminates the need to spend hours on spreadsheets and manual forms. This has saved staff time, minimised booking errors, and enabled us to serve more young people and families. Most importantly, parents find the booking process straightforward and dependable, and we’ve appreciated quick support when adjusting settings or resolving issues. Overall, it helps us operate our programmes more efficiently and fairly.

Pros

MagicBooking has been imperative to us reaching young people and families in need. The online booking system is accessible and user-friendly for parents, allowing us to manage high volumes of bookings efficiently during busy HAF booking periods. The automation features save our team significant time, allowing us to focus more on delivery and support rather than paperwork.

Cons

As with any comprehensive system, there is a learning curve at the beginning, particularly when setting up complex programmes. Some customisations can take time to configure, but once set up properly, the system runs smoothly.

Excellent customer service from Magic Bookings. My issue was resolved quickly, and the information given was clear and easy to follow.

Pros

Everything for parents is in one place, payments and bookings are easy to find and reconcile. TFC accounts are automatically reconciled to parents accounts.

Cons

The help section could be clearer to use and does not cover all the areas that are needed especially when setting up your account.

Magicbooking.com is a reliable and user-friendly platform. The system is intuitive and easy to navigate. The help section is very useful. The initial training that we received was good. What really sets Magic Booking apart is their excellent customer service. Whenever I needed assistance they have resolved issues quickly and professionally. I highly recommend them.

Now and again we experience the occasional glitch, but always resolved very quickly after emailing customer service

Magic Booking has been the best investment our extended school club could have made, it truly is magic!! We have saved hours per week in Admin time leaving us free to focus on the most important part of our service...the children. Feedback from the parent users is extremely positive. There is always a friendly person on hand in the odd case of any queries, tweaks to the system have also been acted upon to satisfy some reporting needs.I wholeheartedly recommend the system to anyone operating a busy club.

Pros

Ease of use and the onus being given to the parent to make bookings etc. Card payments taken and reconciled directly. Good settings to allow us to make the decisions for session closure times etc.

Cons

Childcare vouchers need to be added manually. There is currently no way to pay them directly though Magicbooking

Since switching over, it has genuinely made our lives so much easier, especially as our business continues to grow. Her support, responsiveness, and willingness to go the extra mile have made a huge difference. From our initial consultation we had 1:1 support. Helpful tutorials, extra support settings and being able to raise tickets to ask any questions day or night. The system has been easy to set up and also navigate, our parents have had a few teething problems but we have been able to rectify. Overall I would recommend this system to other providers.

The convenience of parents booking in on one portal, paying and being able to communicate.

Overall, MagicBooking has been a great investment for us. It has taken a lot of time out of admin and allowed us to have information at the tip of a fingers in a click of them!

Pros

That it puts the parents in control of their bookings; they can book, amend and cancel without any back and forth.

Cons

It’s not quite as customisable as I would like; such as having a certain hour notice period and not being able to set a date for sessions to be booked by instead.

Simple, easy to use and fantastic support if required.

Pros

Great support during set up process and quick to answer any subsequent queries however small they might be. Easy platform for parents to use - spreading payments is fantastic. Links to our school MIS system. Parents find it simple to use and good overall view of their bookings - ie calendar, account, payment plans etc

Cons

We have a with/without food options and it would be nice to be able to change this on booking rather than have to cancel whole booking and start again. Reconciling childcare vouchers is a bit time consuming if you have high volumes.

Mostly great with few issues. Help desk team reply quickly to any issues raised. They add new features with requests from clients.

Good. The help desk support is good. There are sometimes things that can't be done as the system doesn't have the functionality, for explain, to notify admin by email if a session is cancelled. We're having to work manually with a downloaded register on the day because our Internet is so poor so we cold really do with this function to alert us.

Pros

The invoicing side of things, no invoices to generate. Also all children's details are online not in paper files.

Cons

The option when booking to put in a start date for the monthly payments would be good. When my parents book in July for September, for the full school year, I don't want the payments to start until September so this has to be manually changed on every booking. Also the option to pay via Childcare voucher or other means monthly isn't very clear when booking. The downside is that if you have poor internet onsite it can't be used properly. Also the sorting of the registers, class 10 goes at the top because it starts with a 1. This means that registers have to be manually changed when downloaded. It can be slow to operate, freezes quite a bit. Our site has very poor internet connection so this is a real problem.

Very good, there is always someone there to answer a ticket and support you.

Pros

Very good helpdesk and always there to answer our questions for back office

Cons

I don't think there is anything I do not like, it's more the amount of time it took me to work out the system. But that is my issue.

Very positive. We have been using it for around 2 years and we have no plans to change anything.

Pros

Parents are able to solve most issues themselves such as cancelling/moving sessions. This means a lot less email traffic and less admin time for our staff.

Cons

Parents can't save their bank card details. It is a feature that I think the service is desperately needing.
