Reviewers find Google Translate invaluable for international communication, learning foreign languages, and traveling. They highlight its ability to support a wide range of languages, making it easier to communicate with clients, friends, and strangers across the globe. The tool is praised for removing language barriers and facilitating real-time conversations, which enhances both personal and professional interactions.
Users express frustration with Google Translate's handling of word context, particularly with slang, idioms, and synonyms. They mention that the software often fails to recognize certain words and provides inaccurate translations for slang terms. This lack of contextual understanding can lead to misleading translations, making it less reliable for nuanced or informal language use.
Pros
I like the Google Translate app because it has helped me in my work activities, it has great features, an excellent tool.
My overall experience with this app has been awesome, a great help when traveling and working and an agile resource to improve my skills to communicate in different languages.
I feel that the translations have had a great improvement with time, considering as well the contribution of the great community around Google Translate.
The translations are also getting better and better and the community is very kind and helpful. Therefore, I can easily recommend this piece of software for all the compatible devices it is available.
Cons
One interaction I had on Google Translate when I was translating Filipino to English caused there to simply be no translation.
Some times the translation to some technical terms doesn't feel quite right. Also, if there is a context in the sentence, the translation can be a little meaningless.
This application does not support many regional languages. The translator makes mistakes and can not be verified.
Sometimes it makes false translations which can be misleading and forces me to conduct further research to get the correct meaning.

"Even while writing this review, I got help from Google Translate."
Overall: I even wrote an essay when I was a student, what more can I say?
Pros: Both the visual and text translations are great! It's nice to have a history feature and be able to save my favorites. I have been using it for years and I am very pleased. I must say that I am very sorry for those who are not familiar with Google translate.
Cons: I think it is behind in terms of some current translations and regulations. It is very easy to use, but Chatgpt is now my primary choice because it directly translates what I write and I need to constantly check it.
"Most reliable translation tool I've used"
Pros: I find the translation on Google Translate to be very reliable. Although it's not perfect and it doesn't have the option to select a formal vs informal translation (for romance languages for example), I find the tool to be very useful in my day-to-day activities both in business and personally
Cons: It doesn't have the option to select a formal vs informal translation (for romance languages for example)

Cons: Sometimes translating Japanese to English doesn't have an accurate result.
"Accurate Translation"
Pros: How easy and accurate is when I need to do any kind of translation, no matter how long, easy, or complex they are.
Cons: Sometimes there are syntaxis details that make some translations to be not so fluent.
