Google Translate allowed me to read signs, menus, and other sources of text that I would have never been able to understand previously! Pros Google Translate's camera function has allowed me to read text in foreign countries that I never would have been able to understand otherwise. This is by far the #1 purpose that Google Translate serves to me. Cons Back in the day, the number of languages available on Google Translate was lacking. However they have done a great job at continuing to add languages. As I write this, I have went back in and looked at all of the language offerings. It is quite impressive now! Cons While Google Translate's APIs do an excellent job of translating language, there are certain instances where it would be helpful to have more powerful tools for configuring specific technical terms and words specific to our industry to be auto-translated correctly, so context isn't lost. At times, though Google Translate has provided transparent passthrough of HTML with no issue, we have had issues with content tags not being accepted via API for Intercom, which means that formatting of tables and rich text has been lost via automatic translation. Cons I've noticed, especially in Spanish translations, that there will some words or phrases that cannot be translated or translates to something completely different than what we were expecting.
