It reduces chances of repeating a commodity on different product. It saves time for products that are of same variety. Cons It does not work without internet connection. Information Technology Printing Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Codesoft Review" September 28, 2023 5.0 Overall, the software works pretty well our applications. Pros We are able to connect our label template to our ERP system in order to make labels dynamic which cuts down on the number of individual labels that need to be stored in our system. Cons We get a Printer Failure error code sometimes which causes us to have to restart the software to continue printing. Also, the software will close itself while we are in the middle of printing or designing a label that causes changes to not be saved. Anything not saved will have to redone and then saved. Once you learn the program the possibilities are endless. Pros Codesoft is very intuitive, it allows for customization to many needs, and it is compatible with various EDC databases. Cons Label specs can be hard to find in Codesoft. However, if you know the dimensions you can create the label spec to fit your need. Some hassles with set- up, switching computers, but for the most part solid product. Support is not available for our version at this point, so it is very good that is is solid and reliable. Pros One time purchase, lots of control editing barcode labels Cons Internet requirement, Had to remake label files when we switched computers. Requires tech support to switch computers. Overall, the ease of use (to me) and the plentiful features. It is a great addition to facilitate labels exactly as our customers need them. Pros I like the overall functionality of Codesoft. It provides a clean interface as well as powerful design and formula generation. Cons For someone that is inept to label design, there could be better training resources. PDF's and videos that go more in-depth are a must for data connections as well as formula use. I feel it is a bit lacking these resources. Pros Codesoft makes it so easy to create new formats and share them with production for use. What you see in the format is exactly what you get. Very easy to pull information out of ERP system into format fields at time of print so 1 format can be used for multiple products. Cons I really dislike having to open a format and then save it as a draft and reopen it to be able to revise it, then have to save it as final to retain the changes. Pros The Codesoft program is extremely easy to use. We create MH10 labels, shipping labels, bundle tickets for piece work for production. Cons It was a little difficult to implement with our software company but the issues were not with Codesoft they were with the programmers on our side. We use it every day to label all of our manufactured part boxes before shipping them out. Cons The only con that I can think of is aligning the text boxes on the label format screen sometimes takes patience to get them lined up with other text boxes. Being able to print and label our customized products is a feature we use every week. Cons Have not been able to automate batch printing, so would like a wizard or easier steps to accomplish this. I highly recommend it for regular lab usage. Pros The software worked for us since it was deployed back in 2007. We've been using a Brady desk printer for our labs labelling needs. Mostly for glassware labelling. Now we've come to use it for our HPLC columns, GC columns, and other lab instruments as well. Cons Sometimes the software does not work with new pc updates. We lose some functionality after the update and we end up asking for assistance from our local IT to update the software as well. And that usually fixes the issue. Reason for choosing CODESOFT Was actually recommended to us due to the amount of labels we make daily and the type of material our label needs to be. We usually put on glassware's where in some instances it gets in contact or soiled with the product. The label stays on and the information does not wash off. Overall, it's the best for our site. The software has allowed us to meet customer requests for new features and opportunities within our labeling process that we would have been unable to integrate without it. Pros We like the ability to integrate with new and existing systems. Codesoft allows us to incorporate weights into our labeling as well as streamline the labelling process and reduce errors in printing. The ability to develop forms that drive a process and minimize errors is also an option that makes the software beneficial. Cons Exporting data from the printing process is not as easy or intuitive as other features. Utilizing a partner network for sales has made getting answers to questions difficult at times.
