Pros Relatively easy once you have the right set up and use the Data Source to import batch of labels Cons Not easy to save the barcode unless you changed the format to PDF. Now I support a single, unified platform. This has reduced errors in labeling, and in some cases, has enabled us to reduce shipping costs as well. Pros The software is easy to learn. It does not need to be used by developers. It is very flexible and feature-rich. Cons There are a few things that I have found that I cannot currently do, and may or may not be included in future versions. Upgrades can be painful. Cons At the moment, we only use CODESOFT to print RFID tags and a barcode that goes with it. We have not used this extensively or implemented it in our customer applications. So far easy to use. Pros It is very easy to navigate around as its GUI interface is similiar to Microsoft Office so it is good for users that do not know very much. It has very nice features like logging via text file printed items, counters, variables, and ODBC database access to connect to a 3rd party database for example. Cons I am conflicted as to why my ODBC database connections don't work (I have a password set on the database) but the OLEDB works. More information on the codesoft website regarding these 2 items would be very helpful. Reason for choosing CODESOFT It was recommended by our ERP system and they were right as it is great to use.
