Brilliant, we won't be going back anytime soon their support team has blown us away with their assitance and how they are happy ot go above and beyond everytime.

Pros

We deploy Heimdal to replaced Sophos and immediately discovered that their response times and professional responses from their support team are simply exceptional, direct access to subject matter experts on a tricky subject. Absolutely brilliant.

Cons

The setup did require some in depth knowledge of hte product particularly around getting the policies setup correctly for our particiular setup. Documentation was not always there, their support team however was.

From a scale of one to five where one is lowest and five is the highest. I give the experience a four.

Pros

That once its programmed properly, the solution works well on its own with minimal supervision and it's easy to configure.

Cons

While Heimdal Patch & Asset Management provides good visibility and patching capabilities, I found that the support experience could be improved. Response times were sometimes slower than expected, and certain technical issues required multiple follow-ups before a clear resolution was provided.

### "Good Product But Can Be Limited"

Overall its not too bad of a product, my only concern is the amount of false positives we have received as a business and now we are a little desensitized when an alert comes through saying High Risk as it is normally just a PC that requires a reboot after a windows update. This also comes through when you set a custom update delay which I also raised with the internal support team.

Pros

I like how easy the product is to use, manage, deploy and make changes on the Management Console.

Cons

The reporting looks good on first glance, but is not consistent and shows errors inside a small time frame and not a large time frame. When checking the console, these flagged errors do not appear. You also cannot make the reports appear when you would like and the only customisation you have is that you can change the frequency of how often in a week these come through (Minimum 3 days, Maximum 7 days).

Once the installer is set up via group policy, it's fire and forget. Default endpoint policy covers basic windows and 3rd party patching. Easy adjustments of policies and policy assignments.

Pros

Rollout via Group Policy and msi installer and the default endpoint policy settings are all you need to get going.

Cons

You need to build your license integrated msi yourself, which only works with the HeimdalLatestVersion.msi, but NOT with the Heimdal\_Thor\_Launcher.msi . So make sure you download the right file for rollout.

I'm very very happy with this tool! We had it for over 5 years and we have only had to help the tool update Chrome on one occation and that was not the tools fault but Chrome. They also have a PAM solution which is great.

Pros

It just works! For a small IT department like our, this is what we want. Everything just runs smoothly without any need of help from technicians, it's a dream come true. There are around 300 applications and they are always adding more. Third-party patches are applied automatically without any need of configuration from technicians. They just gets patched. It is great. You can't ask for more!

Cons

The infinity management for your own patches and applications could be a little better. The encryption sometimes break the installation. So can trust it and always need to test the deployment first. With regular msi / exe installation you can just run it without testing on other platforms.

Heimdal has been simple to get deployed on all my endpoints. Working with sales and onboarding has been a pleasant experience as well.

Pros

Heimdal provides an intuitive interface that makes it easy to identify which assets require patching and for what applications. The built in vulnerability rating scores on individual patches allow me to prioritize those that are the greatest risk. Even better, the automatic patching keeps the majority of my applications up to date and even offers an option to patch unsupported apps by uploading the updated files and pushing them out to the endpoints.

Cons

I have not had any issues with Heimdal thus far, it has been an excellent product that simplifies my patch management for my device operating systems and applications.

Pros

Make our company secure and manageable and to make our users more confident i our environment. Patches and assets are one of the most important building blocks in a IT environment today that make the product highly recommended!

Cons

Learning curve could be more satisfying. More video-guides should be appreciated. Maybe recommend customer to try new functions when they arrive in dashboard.

Great support and aftersales, reliable and consistent patching with good controls and features. The option to branch out and add products beyond patch management all in 1 "pane of glass" whilst only using 1 client makes Heimdal a great time saver.

Pros

Heimdal is easy to configure, reliable when installing patches and has all the standard features you'd expect from a patch management solution. Support and the aftersales team are responsive and know the product well with both happy to offer setup/leading practice advice alongside help for any issues. After a couple tweaks to our initial setup Microsoft Patch Tuesdays are now a breeze to approve and roll-out across the environment.

Cons

Some alternative products allowed for a little greater control over a client device, i.e. interactively force a reboot. Heimdal relies on the policy set to force/prompt for such an event. Some alternative products we reviewed did display required/pending/installed patches in a slightly more 'user friendly' manner. Once you've learnt the management console this issue is less of a barrier.

In addition to saving time, which ultimately means money, it protects my environment against intrusions that make use of exploits by clearly, quickly and automatically updating my software and managing my Microsoft-related updates. As a bonus, I have a complete listing of all programs installed on my network. I have other features too.

Pros

Having the peace of mind of not being caught off guard by unperformed updates is without a doubt the best thing about this product.

Cons

Well, so far I haven't identified anything undesirable in the product.

Super easy patch management tool that keeps 3rd party SW up to date and therefore minimizes vulnerabilities on your PC. Just set "Keep all updated" and off you go - couldn't be any easier.

Cons

Probably the Heimdal SW catalog, which could contain more applications, but new applications are constantly added, so there will be fewer and fewer cons, as time goes.

It's great, both as an admin and as a user. As an admin you will get a great overview and compliance insight, and the user gets an almost uninterupted experience with a serverly improved level of security.

Pros

Heimdal's P&A module is in my opinion the best hyper automated patching solution. It can withstand thirdpary patches, Microsoft updates and my own applications - and addtionally, i am getting a full asset view of the whole environment.

Cons

Sometimes the reboot promt isn't the greatest and the catalogue of applications cloud be bigger

It's a great product, it keeps the auditors happy because I can demonstrate that patching is happening, it keeps the users happy because they don't need to contact the Help Desk to update software and it keeps IT happy because we are more secure.

Pros

It's very easy to use and allows requires very little administration once running. The policy is simple to deploy.

Cons

Navigating the system could be easier, it is sometimes hard to find what I am looking for and reporting could be more flexible.

Very positive, it has saved me so much time and brought everything back into a centralised dashboard. Patching is easier now, more efficient and quicker to complete.

Pros

Automation of patch management, centralised console and at a good price. Also very good at patching applications, such as Adobe and browsers.

Cons

Configuration options can be a bit confusing but the support from Heimdal was excellent. Air-gapped support would be advantageous if we could download updates to an on-premise server.
