### "PestPac - Great software for independent pest control owners/operators!"

Pros

I spend over 30 years in corporate management of the large, national pest control company before I left and bought 2 local pest companies. I can tell you is loaded with features that the larger companies would die to have! I went paperless 30 days after integrating all of my accounts into the system. Reduced the need for 1 office person/bookkeeper. Technicians love the app on their I-phone and can review the orders for the upcoming week/month. What I like best is the ability for techs to take pictures and embed in the work order to alert our customers what we have done for them during the service (removed a wasp nest, killed an ant mound, moved dog bowls, etc). Great overall software!

Cons

It is not really easy to learn and the only way to learn is by trial and error. The initial trainer assigned to my account was not very knowledgeable - so after I complained they assigned the best of the best and she was AWESOME!

Pros

This software is fairly easy to use once you learn the basics. I really like that it's functions are customizable to meet the needs of the company using it. It's great for retaining customer information and keeping up with service history and future service needs.

Cons

I've used a different software that had a better plan for mapping and scheduling, but lacked greatly in other areas. Adding better routing and mapping functionality is available, but adding it costs more. I don't know if adding it will do what I would like. It would be nice to see all customers with service due this month on the map at the same time. This would allow better customization of the routes each month.

I used Service Assistant when I worked for a lawn service and pest control company. I now work for a pest control company. I see that Service Assistant is better structured for lawn service, but didn't provide all the functions a pest control company needs. Although I did like the mapping & scheduling better in Service Assistant. does everything a pest control company needs, and would be great for a lawn service company also! It is a better software all together.

Besides the sales team ..... I do not have any issues with Pest Pac. The program works well for our company.

Pros

Easy to navigate. Support team is very good. They update you when working on an issue. They are courteous.

Cons

Sales team lies to make a sale... I recently purchased a program. Told me if not satisfied I was able to cancel this program before April, 2026. ( I knew I was responsible for payment until then). When I called to cancel I was told now I was under contract to Oct, 2026 Liars!!!

It powers our business. I am so grateful to have found Pest Pac back when we started in 2002. It has made all the difference in our ability to provide the best customer service experience possible. They are the best company I have every worked with in terms of professionalism, friendliness, reliability, and quality of product.

Pros

It is easy to use and the customer. It is full of features and options which can make it complex at times, but this is a good thing and Customer Service is always available to help you learn and understand features as you are ready to use them or new ones become available.

Cons

I honestly can't think of anything. Any issues are quickly resolved and they are consistently working on improvements and listen to customer feedback.

Pros

For one, the number one feature that I loved about past was the simple fact that when I do pest control, I am able to actually reopen the service ticket and make adjustments if I forgot something a previous pest control application. Once you close out the ticket you cannot go back in and make adjustments or add any notes or pictures to it but with this one you definitely can as long as it doesn’t get uploaded and removed from your schedule usually I have about 24 hours to Make any tweaks or adjustments or add anything or take away from the service ticket .

Cons

Two things closing out a work order without putting any information in and when using certain chemical products you could pick any pest to go with it, even pest labeled for that particular insecticide was not covered , which could cause you to improperly document

This has been the worst experience I have ever had in my professional career.

Pros

From the start, the salesperson, \[sensitive content hidden\] , told me, "I could cut my input time down and post my payments, and we could send out bills on the first of the month with no problem." So I said, "Sure, let me sign up." After signing the agreement that \[sensitive content hidden\] said was to set me up with a startup person, I would not be held to it. (Sure) I signed it but told him I couldn't start till the end of May first of June. He said, "We needed to get the 45-minute meetings started so I would not have to pay the $399.99 for not starting." I was like, huh, I thought I was not held to anything because I was still not sure if I wanted the program yet. \[sensitive content hidden\] assured me not to worry and I would beable to do the only 3 things I wanted to do with the program. So, I started the 45-minute meetings over the phone. From the first meeting, I asked over and over how I do the 3 things I need to do to see if this is something I want to continue with; she would say, "Oh, we are getting to that in a couple of weeks."I was like, but I need to know if I want to use this. Well, it took five meetings over the phone for 45 minutes to figure out NO; it is not what \[sensitive content hidden\] promised me, so now I am told I have to pay $1200 to get out of this contract. I will have to get an attorney to get out of this because I will not pay them for something we are not using. I assume they are doing this to lots of other companies.

I did not make the switch. I never got past the sign-up, and now I am being told I have to pay for something I was lied to about. We don't need this for our company. We only need to input services, payments, and bills on the first of the month. The salesperson, Dawosn, told us we could do that, but he lied to our company.

Overall good. The only main challenge is when you have questions and call the help center you get people that seem the know nothing about and always need to open a ticket to get your answer resolved.

Pros

All the different features Communication center has been very helpful, looking forward to all that AI features coming from.

### "PestPac - How we feel after using for 3 years..."

Personally I love . It's frustrating at times, but I feel that I know what the software can and can't do. For example, the Dashboard just doesn't work for us. I want to know how many cancels I have per month - true cancels - but the Dashboard will tell me how many deletes, how many deactivates, etc. I just want to know my losses - so I have to pull separate reports that I put in Excel to create my own accurate dashboard. I feel comfortable using PestPac and know what it's limitations are - and I know how to compensate for them - However, the inability to bill monthly is killing us. If this is not something that PestPac can fix quickly I'm afraid we will be looking at switching software.

Pros

I like that I can do everything from send out estimates/leads to see my customer calls pop up on my screen, to hitting three buttons to run renewals. I like that I can get almost any data I need. I like that the customer support teams is very helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. offers a single solution to run a pest control and lawn care business. I like the levels of permission as a manager that I can give to my staff. I LOVE the task feature and the call features. I love that lead management is integrated with the set up and I don't have to enter information twice. I love the service set-up report. I love the collections module and the way it helps me track customers that are over 120 days past due and is integrated directly with ARM.

Cons

The main reason we are even considering switching from is because I cannot bill on a subscription basis from the account. Meaning, if I set up 2 payment plans - because my customer has 2 different services with my company (ie. pest and lawn) that when on autobill it charges my customers twice. This is a nightmare!! We have lost customers because they don't understand why we can't give them one monthly price and bill them 1 time per month. I want PestPac to be able to look at the bill to account and allow me to set up a payment plan based on ALL their services - and then only charge the credit card once per month for ALL services. I've had to create a fake service called monthly billing to try and do just that- however this messes up ALl our numbers. It makes it look like we have way more revenue than we actually do. PestPac also has soooooo many different options that I never know exactly how to do something. It seems to take 50 steps to get something done. Reports never seems to give consistent data. I run a report for January numbers and it's different every time I run it. If you all would fix the bill to - it would be a no brainer and we would happily stay- even with the other set backs - but this is kind of a deal breaker for us.

### "Don't waste your money"

My overall experience is very poor. When we first started with them was back when they first came on the market and they were very nice and eager to help. Now it seems that they could care less, the system doesn't work half the time, and now customers of ours are constantly calling to complain about scheduling and "callahead" problems.

Pros

The system allowed us to go into a mobile environment very quickly after several months of trying to figure out how it worked. The training staff was informative but the system is so overly complicated you have to have a coding degree to figure out most features.

Cons

This system is old, antiquated, and needs many improvements. The company charges a separate fee for everything and nickel and dime you to death. Then try and bind you in long term contracts. When we have problems no one called back to let us know if it was resolved or not. The software is definitely not user friendly. You have to manipulate the software to get it to work.

It's great that i have a system in place that handles all the daily paperwork that i go through each day. I am able to invoice, record materials used, how they were used , time of day they were used all the things that we used to write out are now done with a click on my smartphone.

Pros

The software allows me to present my customers with great field reports. It is great for billing. It is well thought out for the pest control industry .

Cons

I have had some issues with my field printer and software communicating. This was resolved with a nice work around and i have had no issues in the last year.

Reason for choosing PestPac

I tried the other product to save a couple of dollars. It was a bad mistake. The other product was obviously not designed with my industry in mind. It was a poor fit for me and almost cost me my largest customer when i could no longer leave the printed detailed reports that they had come to expect. A lot of my customers appreciate having the ability to go to a portal and read reports but they also expect to have a crisp well written detailed report left on site. checks that box.

### "Don’t waste your time or money."

I would NEVER recommend anyone to use this system - mostly for its archaic system/functionality but without a doubt for the terrible customer service. I have never known a company that has a customer unhappy with the product after trying it that wasn’t happy to refund their money for the reminding contract. Feels like a Bait and Switch and I’m stuck paying for a system I don’t use every month.

Pros

The system has the functionality to drill down to unit numbers and track service by apartment level. As we service apartment complexes, this was a major selling point when we signed up. (Con: Mind you that this was an additional charge). The other pro is that the system tracks your materials so when you go to do your reporting at the end of the month it is pretty seamless. These are the ONLY pros.

Cons

NOT USER FRIENDLY! The system is not with the times. You have to set up the backend of the system completely before you even start using the system. You have 6-8 weeks of training to help with this process, but during this training is when you find out everything they didn’t explain to you during the demo/sales process. I was very clear that we needed a system to bill multiple recurring services per month and I was told the system could do that. When I was already signed up and going through the training, I was told they had to build a special work around for this that I would need to do EVERY time this would happen (therefore for a majority of my clients). Meaning more work for me and my office staff. The customer service is HORRIBLE (with the exception of the trainer who tried to help but because the system couldn’t do things simply and what I needed then to do and he couldn’t fix that). During the training process, I explained that this was not the same system I was sold - it was way to complicated to produce simple tasks and did not do what I was promised, and I requested a refund. I was rudely spoken to by my sales guy, and told this was the number one product in the industry and this was MY problem not the company’s and it was non-negotiable to get out of the contract. He also sold me a ton of add-on’s that you aren’t even allowed to use right away because the system needs to be properly set up, so after the 6-8 weeks you can start using the different add-one.

### "Is anyone even reading this?"

There are many little mistakes with no evidence of fixing them. The pre-ceding screen to select my industry for example, Pest Control wasn’t even an option. Discover and American Express do not work unless they are setup after the on-bording process. The “Pay Here” option in the email that is sent with the invoice has a font size of about 8. Favorite tech notes are listed as “Maintenance Instructions” in the training video, but only “Instructions” on the tables page. What are we maintaining? What are we instructing? Why is this section not called “Tech Note Favorites” or anything else that might make sense? What is a ticket called? A service ticket? Service order? Orders? You call something one thing in the training video, and call it something else somewhere else. Consistency is lacking. These are just a few examples off the top of my head. I believe that Pest Pac and Workwave is so large, that you are ignoring the little things. There was a mistake when I signed up (your end, not mine) that cost me $100. This may seem like a very small amount of money to a multi-million dollar entity such as yourself, but I assure you, to a small starting family business such as we are, it represents MANY mouse traps that I could have purchased. When I brought this to the attention of the sales rep that I was upset with the mistake, he simply said “…okay.” without even a halfhearted apology. Are you even reading this review?

Pros

’s functionality is excellent … if you can wrap your head around them. The app is easy enough to use. The integration from Gorilla Desk was, and still is, an absolute nightmare.

Cons

Too many little bugs that are not being addressed. COmments and complaints are being ignored or shuffed off to be filed. Simply put, you have grown large, and no longer care about the little things.

Route Op is the BEST....it makes it so easy to create very tight and effective routes for all of our specialists.

To even learn about their program you have to pay money, to add any feature you have to pay money. The program scheduling doesn't always work right, throws things off to a totally different day.

### "Document Uploads Ridiculously Slow"

Slow and cumbersome.

Pros

This message isn't about pros and cons. This message is about a specific problem listed below in the "cons" section.

Cons

I need to upload dozens of PDF documents and photos to various accounts. When doing so a red font message appears under each one as it "scans document for viruses". This is needless, cumbersome, and ridiculously time consuming for PDF files and Jpegs. While I understand the need to scan certain types of files (maybe website links) there needs to be a way to turn it off. IF there is no way to turn it off then that shows a lack of intuitiveness toward company time and thus is unacceptable in an age where time is money more than ever.

Good. Could be better.

Pros

Easy mobile use. Like the use of documents with the mobile application.

Cons

Hard to attach documents to emails on the desk top. Reports need a quick list other than all the options of running reports.

### "Used to be great, but has declined over the years"

I was a pest pac user from 2008 to 2016. Over the years little changed in the way of improvements. It was exciting to have a software that had the ability to invoice customers, compile great reports, schedule customers, track leads, process credit cards, process ACH, track commission, connect third party collections partners, track employees, provide up to date state forms, and had communication elements. All this sounds great and like a 1 stop shop. The only and main issue is most of the features don't function at all or as they should. Scheduling took years, the scheduling aids simply did not work at all. I went to a Pest Pac conference and found many other customers that had the same complaint. Pest Pac lead tracking is a joke. I called to complain and the sales person agreed. He tried to sale me another add on services. The only thing worst than the lead functions are the reports. Pest Pac is very antiquated and hard to master. If you do not put information in exactly right you can make an error that cannot be corrected. The report will probably never work for any customer. You would have to be a full time data entry expert to enter information in a way that did not jack up the reports. Finally, billing is holy hell. The service is too pricey and the add ons are a trap. You have to buy add on to use some of the basic features that apart form the package. Tech support also sucks. I ended service in August and received an email in September that said they were still working on an issue I reported in July. Don't bother with Pest Pac. Every other software provider provides the same features in a simpler way. Avoid Pest Pac at all cause.

Pros

Mature company that was a been in the service industry for a while.

Cons

Slow unresponsive tech support, too expensive, feature do not work or work well. To use basic feature you have to pay for add on services, the billing department sucks. The company does not respect the fact that they support other business and the software is vital to the operation of a business. The system goes down for hours at a time and when they do system updates
