### "Be very careful when you transfer or sell your business — they will try to bill you anyway"

Long-term operational software was workable; the deal-breaker was their handling of an acquisition transfer. They also practiced a "Up-Sales" first approach. They prioritize upselling of services other than client satisfaction.

Pros

Comprehensive feature set built specifically for pest control. Mobile app and routing module worked. Customer base is large enough that there's a community to lean on.

Cons

When our predecessor business was acquired, we executed WorkWave's own tri-party Transfer Request form on 3/20/2025 — signed by both companies and consented to in writing by WorkWave. The form expressly transferred all rights and obligations to the acquiring entity, absorbed the acquired business into the buyer's legal entity, and merged all licenses, billing, and data into the buyer's existing WorkWave account. Months later, WorkWave continued sending invoices to the dissolved seller entity at its old address for periods AFTER the transfer date, then referred the seller to commercial collections — while the buyer's account, which now contains the merged services, has been paid in full and is current. WorkWave's collections position recharacterizes a transfer they consented to as a customer-initiated cancellation. Multiple submissions of the executed Transfer Request to WorkWave have not stopped collection activity. Reasons for switching / advice for buyers: If you anticipate an acquisition, merger, sale, or any kind of business transfer during your contract, get explicit written confirmation from WorkWave's legal team — not sales — that the transfer has been processed in their billing system. Their own Transfer Request form is apparently not enough.

### "It doesn't get any easier than this."

Overall, I would say it has been a uniquely positive experience. I haven't had any major issues, the platform runs with no bumps, it is easy to tech to new employees, and it makes things at the office as easy as breathing. Our customers seem to love how organized it is as well; they don't have to worry about their information going amiss. It processes payments smoothly, stores card and bank info securely, and it is such incredible quality for its price. You will wish you had started with PestPac sooner. If you are to have any issues, rest assured that PestPac customer service is like no other, it is speedy and incredibly easy to get ahold of them. The Reporting system is wonderful, efficient, and classical as well, and I could go on about all of the incredible features PestPac contains but you just have to try it yourself.

Pros

Its user interface was mature and user friendly but had a level of professionalism to it that really goes to show that the people behind PestPac are dedicated individuals.

Cons

I would say I least liked that I didn't work somewhere that used it sooner. We use it in conjunction with other software, and it runs smoothly across platforms. It truly is a jack of all trades in my experience.

### "Great work orders for pest control "

I like the ease, And Flo of being able to just create work orders create zones in areas and update devices with barcodes without having to spend a lot of time resetting the entire account.

Pros

For one, the number one feature that I loved about past was the simple fact that when I do pest control, I am able to actually reopen the service ticket and make adjustments if I forgot something a previous pest control application. Once you close out the ticket you cannot go back in and make adjustments or add any notes or pictures to it but with this one you definitely can as long as it doesn’t get uploaded and removed from your schedule usually I have about 24 hours to Make any tweaks or adjustments or add anything or take away from the service ticket .

Cons

Two things closing out a work order without putting any information in and when using certain chemical products you could pick any pest to go with it, even pest labeled for that particular insecticide was not covered , which could cause you to improperly document

### "3 years and counting, still enjoying it!"

We think it's great. The majority of problems we've had have honestly been our own fault for not knowing the software. Most bad reviews are from ignorance. If you want idiot friendly, then we suggest you go elsewhere. You need to learn this software properly, get trained, and pay attention! Use support if you don't know by calling in and getting your questions answered. We have never had a problem with support either if there was an issue. They have helped us through step by step every time we've called so we don't understand why people say there's no support.

Pros

Pestpac has everything you need to run your pest business. There's a reason why it's a standard. Easy to generate any report we want or put in materials, or customize anything especially pesticide reporting which is a huge deal for us. Many other software programs do not have proper pest reporting elements. It's very deep, or you can set it up and run it simply.

Cons

Although this seems to be every software we have tried, the ability to keep clocked in once midnight occurs for overnight shifts without having to time out and time back in again. Every software company has this issue for some reason that we know of. The software use of the camera does not register barcodes well for scanning devices, tried with different phones and still an issue. We just click to register the device manually or use a separate scanner. These are the only reason for us specifically why it's not 5 stars. More of a 4.5

A very labor intensive process that 9 weeks in still leaves me unable to use most features at all...

Pros

There is potential for this software but the promises made have not remotely been met, support lacks.

Cons

The migration process is expensive, incomplete and requires extreme manual work by the user daily...

### "Don't buy PestPac!"

It was horrible. They overpromised and underdelivered then insist on continuing to bill me for the entire contract when they failed to provide a key service clearly included in the contract.

Pros

Seems like there is a ton a functionality, but in order to use it requires highly trained staff for software that isnt intuitive.

Cons

We were sold a data migration service with our transition from WorkWave Service. They failed to provide this service

Overall we have had a good experience with the software, it has made us more efficient in our operations.

Pros

The software is relatively easy to train users on, it is an efficient, near all in one solution for the business. Simplifies route management and scheduling, increases efficiency in the office and the field.

Cons

Some of the base reporting around change log tracking seems incomplete. It doesn’t track changes to some fields. Gap in logging from mobile.

My overall experience is decent. I wish the support team (over the phone, but at this conference) was more knowledgeable and I didn’t have to submit as many requests and tickets.

Pros

I like the varying reports, and once you figure out how to do everything it’s decently easy.

Cons

I feel like the back end is not user friendly and rather convoluted.

I didnt like one thing.How could you.I like everything about JOBBER.

Being lied to.They told me they have the latest and greatest website software.It was terrible and one page.I found that out day two tried getting a hold of anyone and it took days.By then the three day rescission for me to cancel was up.Very sneaky.

### "Better than what is available from others, but technologically outdated user experience."

Better than alternatives, but average user experience overall.

Pros

We are a startup pest control company in California and have used PestPac for two years. It is web-based, so a totally familiar browser based experience. Good support form sales reps. Regular software updates. The company was founded as Marathon Data Systems, rebranded a few years ago as Workwave and was recently bought by a European investment group called IFS. The company serves a variety of field service companies including pest control.

Cons

\>One of the most expensive solutions with relatively very high base rate and monthly per-user fees compared to similar alternatives. >Outdated interface that significantly limits how quickly our staff can work with software. For example, there is no use of pre-fetching data, batch uploads, continuous backup, data validation, etc. Data moving between your computer and the AWS server has periods of noticeable lag even with high speed internet access. Data moving to and from your device and server are limited to one operation at a time. >The parts of the software staff see are not intuitive and difficult to use. Although parts of the software see regular updates, these updates seem aimed mainly at larger accounts with more advanced customer relationship systems. The data entry screens, state forms, reports, etc., have not seen any meaningful updates in years. > There are numerous bugs in the online system that have persisted the whole time we've used Pestpac. Some things are given attention, others never make it. Many of the support requests on their product forums remain unaddressed for months or years. > The company seems to spread itself thin by focusing on on sales to several kinds of small field service based businesses. The quality of the user experience with PestPac is lacking, and probably similar to others' experience.

### "After 15 years, I'm Still Happy with Choosing PestPac"

The folks at WorkWave have always been wonderful and polite. They've often gone out of their way to help me find a solution to how I want to use the system and will be clear when my requests are not obtainable. They believe in their product and appreciate suggestions that can help to advance the usability of the software. Since we're close in proximity to their home office, their Project Managers have gone into the field with our Technicians just to observe how we are using the software and how it can be improved.

Pros

The PestPac product is very expansive. It performs so many functions very well and integrates them within the system seamlessly. The routing and scheduling has created substantial efficiencies in our routes. Also, as extensive as the system is, it is not terribly difficult to use and understand. I appreciate that WorkWave is always making tweaks and modifications to improve performance and usability.

Cons

There is so many faucets to this software which is great, but sometimes overwhelming. You don't always know where to find the option change you are looking for, or if it exists. It's also difficult to know in advance how one set-up or change in selection will impact bill/work routing/reporting. Also, there isn't always help on a page, or the help is not helpful. I do think in the past that some new changes/enhancements to the software are not tested as thoroughly as they should be (perhaps to meet deadlines). My one big gripe is that I do not like it when our hands our tied with Vendor Partners and we are unable to pick our own partner, such as the credit card processing or phone integration. There is no doubt that there have been snafus over the past 15-years, and some of them rather big snafus. But I still do not think that there is another pest software that is as layered and expansive as PestPac.

### "Modules on top of modules"

My company has used PestPac since 1997 (before it was PestPac) though I've only used it for 3 and a half years. My entire experience as a PestPac user has been sorely dismal, dismaying, and disheartening. During this time we've had extensive issues with technician schedules missing stops (even refreshing the mobile app every day), customer communications randomly stopping, a serious lack of reports to determine top revenue-generating Bill-tos, and more. Due to the huge amount of data PestPac stores (and our data goes way back), Service Setups are often popluated with phantom arrival times and PestPac support seems unable to tell from where the data is coming and therefore can do nothing to fix it. The software is module-based, which means you pay extra for every little module, and modules don't always get along with the base platform and other modules without an extensive amount of setup work (and even then it's likely to go awry). Their support is very slow to repond to inquiries (like weeks), though if you need to add a license or inquire about adding on a module, sales gets back to you within the hour. At one point, we tried to use their Route Optimizer, only to find out 8 months into "onboarding" that our scheduling process won't even work with Route Ops. We were never able to even implement one day of Route Ops, but we were still charged for every month past our 3 months of onboarding time. It's unfortunate there is little else out there.

Pros

I like that there is huge potential for an all-encompassing pest control business software including dispatch, route optimization, fleet tracking, technician reviews, CRM, email marketing, Executive Dashboard, etc.

Cons

Pretty much everything, but mostly the fact that technician schedules are sometimes missing stops, and checkboxes associated with customer communications and reports are often unchecked randomly so customers suddenly stop receiving their Invoices and Inspection Reports.

We love Pestpac! My employees can work from home if needed because it is in the cloud. The pestpac mobile app allows my technicians and sales staff to work entirely with iphones and ipads. No more pre-printing tickets for the day, which saves time and money from needless trips back and forth to the office. Also, the customer support is quick, efficient, and will stay with us until our questions are anwered.

Pros

Pestpac software has transformed my business of the last five years. During that time, Pestpac has given us the tools to go paperless, collect customer reviews on an automated basis, digital sales presentations in the field, and streamlined contacting our customers with their automated texting feature. As a result, my revenues have gone up by 50% while adding very few employees.

Cons

There seems to be a larger learning curve for implementing add on software features. It usually takes us longer to implement, but is always worth it in the end.
