Although i think there are many areas for improvement i believe this is a positive step forward for the flooring industry. Pros The best thing about Kreo is the AI assisted take off. I find auto measure can be a little messy and i spend as much time organizing the data as i would have doing a normal takeoff Cons Confusing left hand panel where is shows products. Implementation in my context was as simple as having a new SaaS website to bookmark. Pros As a Real Estate Appraiser whose work focuses on Insurance Valuation & Reserve Fund Studies, every week I need to measure building plans (often of fairly poor quality) to ascertain key dimensions for my cost modelling. I've tried a variety of glorified PDF editors, including offerings from top names before I discovered Kreo. Kreo's shape recognition algorithms speed my process by identifying areas and measuring them for me. Specifically, the bucket-fill measurement tool continues to get better and better, and relieves me from a bunch of fine-point clicking to trace the perimeter of convoluted shapes (especially helpful for shaky hands). Kreo then provides outputs in Excel that I can directly plug-in to my models. I use it now for every job. Cons Kreo works best with vector drawings and modern building floorplans. Most of my work involves scans of registered condominium plans into the Land Records database. Consequently, it's difficult to get the most out of the "automagical" features. That said, the bucket-fill measurement tool keeps getting better and addresses most of my needs. Kreo's pattern recognition automation relieves me of tedious point-and-click while providing useful output to Excel. There is of course room for improvement and this is achievable when there are more users and Kreo has more feedback. Which currently appears like Kreo is taking our input and is willing to (and have) implement changes. Pros The AI features such as auto take off and the bucket fill function. Greatly reduces time spent on take off. Cons Multiple line items (conditions) for the same take off. I wish Kreo had the feature like OST where if you define a linear condition as wood base, it would calculate all wood base under 1 line item. With Kreo, each time you start and stop, a new condition is created. Bluebeam is a good option but Kreo's AI capabilities discourage using Bluebeam. OST - OST is perfect the way it is, but it also appears OST hasn't been updated in years. Pros Kreo's takeoff software has been exceptionally easy to learn and its in house tutorials and support from both automatic bot and in house staff are very useful especially when requesting help with issues relating to data recovery and scaling options. Cons intial lack of intergration with Microsoft Excel however this is now been added allowing us to directly import take-off templates into the program and reduce time taken to turn raw measurement into usable BoQs and budgets. Could use improved cost planning functionality on the app though. other software such as cost-x is a lot more advanced in this realm. also axonometric drawings for walls off 2d plans would be very beneficial! Pros Very Easy to learn to use/get started on. Cons Folders setup isn't ideal. Would be useful to be able to duplicate folder structures whilst empty so can use for various building or units. Pros Kreo makes measuring very quick and efficient, this is through their software and their AI capabilites. This makes 2D take-offs for simple cost plans or estimates simple. Cons I wish there was more options relating to the AI feature such as being able to differentiate the different wall types or ceiling types etc through how their displayed on the drawing such as different colour or hatching. Cons One quick crash but the issue was fixed quick and I received an email from their support team with out even inquiring to make sure that the issue was resolved with no problems. very good customer service. QS Construction Used the software for: Less than 6 months ### "Overall very helpful and time saving" September 4, 2023 4.0 It just saves me time over manual take off, lots of time. drawing a line in the PDF and that measurement collating directly into an excel, and then having a marked up drawing is like doing three operations in one. even without the AI features this is a huge time saving win. Pros The product is easy to use and get your head around. I like the integration of uploading PDFs and drawing on them and exporting those drawings. also being able to measure and that measurement filling in a spreadsheet is excellent, saves so much time. The document search functions are really helpful too to make sure you don't miss anything. Cons The AI function is very hit and miss on the particular drawings we use, which are full of info. i generally don't use any AI function. The excel sheets are a little bit clunky, i normally do the basic i can with the integrated excel and then export it into actual excel for refinement. Review Source RH Rory H. It does however, need to be further developed to measure all types of drawings which would have a significant impact on time saving across our business. Pros I like how easy the software is to use, no real training require for the basic functions. The AI feature is also very good for the floor plan measures. Cons I could not figure out how to do a negative measure, this could be down to training though.
