Overall, we would definitely recommend PartsTech to any shop that's looking for a solution for parts ordering and management. It has saved us a lot of time and effort while making our parts ordering and pricing more effective at the same time. There are some bugs/issues that they could be more effective at resolving; however, considering what PartsTech costs us, we would still give them a 5-star overall.

Pros

PartsTech is extremely cost effective. There are more expensive tiers if you need to add onto the features; however, the base level of PartsTech is currently free (there may be stipulations depending on what software you use, but we have AutoLeap). It is extremely helpful to be able to price shop. It has been a game changer in locating quality parts for a fair price and allows us to provide better service and quality to our customers without sacrificing efficiency.

Cons

PartsTech can be a little buggy at times. Adding a new supplier can take anywhere from a couple hours to a month, depending on how buggy it's being at the time, and sometimes the response from customer service is "contact the supplier" when the response from the supplier is "contact PartsTech's customer service." Occasionally, there have been some issues with our parts orders not getting to the supplier or our order going to the wrong supplier at a higher price, which can be frustrating and disorganized. Ultimately, we've always been able to get a solution eventually, and if that's our only complaint, we're definitely happy with it.

Partstech was very easy to set up. I had most of my vendors entered in under 30 minutes. There were a few vendors that did not automatically integrate so partstech handled that integration on the backend.

Pros

Having all of my parts vendors in one place is amazing. Now with one search I can look at all of the relevant suppliers and have real time data on the best purchase choice.

Cons

Due to each vendor calling parts a different name, there is a slight learning curve to figure out how to find less common parts.

PartsTech makes the service writing job much easier finding parts, shopping parts quickly and providing estimates quickly by showing all the vendors pricing and availability.

Pros

The catalog and ability to see several vendors makes it very easy to use, shop pricing, and add and subtract items to the cart and either submit or purchase the order. A few clicks gets the order submitted to vendor and it makes my job writing tickets much easier. Adding new vendors is very easy as long as they also using parts tech.

Cons

Sometimes I have to call the vendor to find the part needed, they can find the ones that are not fully listed in parts tech.

Overall, it is better than other programs I've used or still have access to use, but I would like the reliability to improve.

Pros

The ability to cross reference parts from multiple vendors is critical to check pricing and availabilty.

Cons

The frequent connection interruptions from varying suppliers is frustrating, as it seems to be a weekly occurrence and the outage can last up to a couple of days at a time.

When we first got going with PartsTech it was great. Now update after update it gets worse and worse. IDK if its our sources just don't utilize it effectively or if PartsTech is just circling the drain.

Pros

Its a great tool to be able to see multiple sources to compare price and availability.

Cons

That I can't find all my parts across all my jobs then organize them back into the RO as needed. AND that now Parts Tech is pretty much a vessel to open SpeedDial and Rowerdink up in their own stand alone windows to place orders. This makes PartsTech damn near useless.

10/10 program we have over 30 techs and 8 service writers using it daily.

Pros

Ability to add up to five of your top vendors for free (all of your vendors with paid, which we use). It allows one GUI for each vendor instead of having to learn the quirks of each website/software and it's all in one window on your browser.

Cons

Honestly, I cannot really think of a single negative on this software for what it offers. The only thing it does not offer (and does not claim/promise to) is OEM parts.

The software can be glitchy with integrations being slow intermittently. Often the suppliers are at fault to my understanding.

Overall, it's a very good platform. Parts info is sometimes incomplete or confusing, but that's probably up to the supplying vendor, not PartsTech.

Pros

It's easy to find the parts we need and now that tire ordering has been added it's just that much better.

Cons

It occassionally fails to return relevant results or will return no results when in fact an integrated vendor has the parts sitting on their shelves.

overall, it makes my day go a lot smoother than it used to. All because it saves me TIME!

Pros

i love being able to search parts from all my vendors in one location. It also easily lets me add those parts to my estimate without having to type each one in! I can then go back and order my parts directly from the vendor without opening parts tech or making a phone call. it makes me able to handle far more than I would be able to with the average software

Cons

the only thing i do not like, is the way the descriptions of the parts i add to my work order change. Sometimes the description is completely wrong. And if you dont change it, it could seem like you are charging a customer for something you didnt do. Or that you did something without permission

I like the ease of use, and the description of parts to research and order the correct part.

Cons

Not all the vendor parts show on partstech, I have in everyday situations looked first at partstech, then picked up the phone and called vendor to find they have the part or another brand not listed on partstech

Pros

It is really benificial to shop multiple venders at the same time.

Cons

You cannot change the warehouse when submitting orders through Tekmetric, when you place the order through Tekmetric that you have quoted. Some FMP warehouses are quicker than others, and partstech chooses a default for you.

Overall, it has saved out advisors so much time not having to call multiple vendors or using 6 different logins. We can see everything all at once and which warehouses items are located. We can submit an order to all vendors at once also.

Pros

The program integrates most vendors for time and cost savings. Extremely simple to use makes it even better.

Cons

I would like to see all information carried over from vendors own site. It seems some information or parts don't always pull over top give us all options. I would also as an admin see all use of my employees.

integrates with my shop management, shows all my parts suppliers in one spot.

Cons

search results are limited, and i've run into issues not being able to find correct parts or just not showed on search results but are shown when searching directly at vendor outlet (napa prolink or speeddial) i still have issues with correct inventory location, I can never trust that (unless it's in stock locally). and the last month or so, its has hang ups or freezes when adding parts to cart (specifically worldpac) or when checking out.

Have spoken with them several times and they have been helpful. It's easy to forget that they are a separate entity and it's not just part of the POS.

Pros

Seamless integration into our point of sale software. There are more vendors than we need but this integrates parts ordering seamlessly into our workflow. Previous providers did not have the same ease of integrating and required working with the IT departments at the various providers. It's easy to think it's just part of the point of sale system.

Cons

Would like to see it integrate with MARS pricing model from GM.
