Overall we are very satisfied with the product and especially with our point of contact. He is very response and proactive.

Pros

Payment reminders have helped us tremendously to collect long overdue patient balance. Our point of contact at HelathAsyst proactively suggest ways by which can we can use the system better and payment reminders were one of the features that he suggested and it turned out be a great success. Appointment reminders keeps our no show minimal. Clinical integration is precise all the time. Overall a great tool for everyone.

Cons

No cons, everything works great! Sometimes the API goes does momentarily but that is very very rare.

Its great that they can complete on their phones

Cons

essentially everything else. From a check in standpoint I do not use this therefor I do not see any benefit. waste of money as we have staff who can do the same things. Function for medical use is limited at best. Taking information like vitals then not sending to our emr is exhaustingly frustrating, half of our clinical staff is printing the electronic records......that should tell you have well it works for medical function.

Overall my experience with CheckinAsyst has been exceptionally pleasant. It really has made our workflows so much easier. It has cut down on paper usage, time spent scanning documents into the charts, time spent manually entering data into encounter notes, patient wait time, and the list goes on. If you are just even a tiny bit considering CheckinAsyst, I say go for it! You will be pleased with the outcome!

Pros

The most impactful feature of CheckinAsyst is the automatic import of patient data to the EHR system. CheckinAsyst is easy to use. In the beginning there was some push back from staff and patients because no one likes change. Once the staff and patients began using the software they all talked about how much easier it made the check-in process and now it is just the "normal routine". The support team has been exceptional throughout the entire time of using CheckinAsyst. The implementation team was amazing to work with during the form building process and implementation. I had a TON of specific requests and they worked to meet all of them. Anytime I had a request that maybe the system couldn't perform, the implementation team would brainstorm ideas of how they could build a work around that would meet our needs. They put in a lot of work building our specific needs and never once tried to steer us in an "easier" way on their end. I truly appreciated all of their time and effort on implementation.

Cons

I can't think of too many Cons to this software mostly because the Pros outweigh the Cons. There is always going to be "hiccups" in any software, and there has been a few here and there with CheckinAsyst but never anything majorly significant. I would say the only "Con" would be that we don't fully utilize all that CheckinAsyst has to offer due to expense. There are some features that we opted out of because it can get a little pricey.

We chose CheckinAsyst because of the larger amount of data capture that imported to our EHR system. Alternative products were unable to map some specific "medcin findings" that we needed for our annual UDS reporting. Our health center uses Greenway- Intergy EHR

It has been a good experience. Especially when it comes to the issues we have had with the system and the responsiveness of the customer service staff. They listen to our problems and try to find a solution as quick as possible. Some of the issues that I have mentioned above have been relayed to their staff and it is planned to be resolved in upcoming versions.

Pros

The ability to have our patient's fill out paperwork easily from their phones or computers gives us an opportunity to collect more information from the patient without the worry of them taking to long in the lobby. The system also automatically checks insurances and their eligibility, which gives us an electronic eye on this.

Cons

Certain features seem a little outdated. Such as filters. Or payment plans. They need to be updated to allow users to better plan how the patient's can create payment plans and for how much. Usage of the app on the tablet is also very outdated. It needs to properly be formatted so that it works properly for every patient.

HealthAsyst has been great from a customizable standpoint. They have been really open to hearing new ideas and areas needing improved and have been responsive to implementing in upgrades.

Pros

We are currently integrated with CheckinAsyst by HealthAsyst. We have had it for a couple years now and it’s been great for us. The clinical findings from questionnaires/assessments can transfer to the EMR and the Providers absolutely love it.

Cons

The implementation of an electronic solution was very difficult. I don't believe this was related to checkinasyst, but rather any time you are moving from a paper based process, it takes a lot of time.

From our implementation team to support we have received quick and positive responses to our needs. We are very particular about how we want our information to flow into our EHR system and this team made sure they were able to make it work.

Pros

We like that we are able to custom the timing of sending out prep instructions after the appointment has been made, which we had staff doing prior and this has saved us time. We also like that we are able to custom and set the timing of our appointment reminders and modify with the support team when we need a change based on the feedback we receive from the patients.

Cons

We don't have an functionality cons on the product. The CheckinAsyst team has been great to assist us with what needs we need and in making it work for our practice.

It had all or more of the features that we needed in our practice.

Our overall experience with CheckinAsyst has been extremely positive and fruitful. The system is easy to use, staff friendly and easy to learn. Our dedicated team is wonderful, quick to address issues and extremely open to our feedback, suggestions and enhancement ideas. We have been very lucky to work with this team.

Ease of Use, staff friendly, customer service is spectacular. The reporting is robust and gives a great glimpse of daily and monthly transaction details.

Pros

Easy to use, easy to navigate. Love the feature of patients being able to complete intake paperwork prior to the arrival at the clinic and also the ability to push forms to their email/phone in the event something is missed. I also like the portal for tickets and the response time of the team.

Cons

Only downfall I see is when things that were there suddenly aren't. For instance, our ROI form was added to be included in all intake for new patients, and then suddenly it isn't providing that form.

Our experience has been game changing over the last 2+ years. This is the best tool you can provide your entire team with wins for clerical, clinical, and providers. Plus, the patient experience has helped us continue to achieve top 25% and in some cases top 10% nationally with our CG-CAHPS scores as a result of the efficient check-in process which translates to an excellent patient experience each and every visit. Finally, your organization will realize return on investment with reduced staffing, the team can whether that occasional short staff day a lot easier.

Pros

Patient engagement Saves time for patients and clerical staff checking in. Avoids the clipboard Saves time for patients and clinical staff for medical assessments (new patient health history, PHQ-9, Gad-7, Pain Forms, works with multispecialty) Improves accuracy of the intake process letting staff verify data rather than having to key everything in from a form. Patient reminders - like checking in for flight / helps reduce no-shows and staff can remind patients using the dashboard to complete forms prior to arrival. Ease of use - Patient can use their cell phones, tablets, home PCs, or iPads we have at the office. The Service level from the Checkin Asyst team is amazing. Our assigned team meets with us bi-weekly to continue to improve our experience and maximize our utilization.

Cons

One of the limitations is the willingness of the EHR's and PM's to allow Checkin Asyst fully access to API's. Also, we turned off the bill pay and advance payment features because we switched as a health system to another credit card vendor. If Checkin Asyst had more flexibility to use other payers, we could have kept using that feature.

Provides alternate option for patients to check-in other than manually. Can load forms that need to be complete directly into the system for check-in. Can set co-pay co-insurance directly into system so parents are alerted when checking in. Reports showing number of patients seen

Cons

Payment processing does not always work correctly. If we set a co-pay prior to the date of the appointment the system resets and we have to do it again. Communication is not easy with the customer service department.

Reduced scanning at initial rollout by 50% and allows for faster insurance eligiblilty checks than the built in tools from the EMR.

Pros

We find the staff kind and pretty responsive. It was a fairly easy set up despite some EMR API limitations on our side.

Cons

Some of the issues experienced first have been resolved such as adding west coast data centers for better response times. Currently, we have some intermittent issues with specific portions of the API which is not always their fault. Make sure you have a strong, consistent network connection as a portion of the services offered relies on consistent ability to push data if you don't want to have to reprocess later.

More flexibility than Phreesia on customization for clinical discrete data, pricing was better, and unlike Phreesia where you have to rent your tablets monthly, we purchased our ipads outright and were able to repurpose some for telehealth purposes as needed so they serve a dual purpose.

I have implemented and used other patient engagement platforms. By far CheckinAsyst has been a Five Star platform.

Pros

CheckinAsyst's integration and support have been exceptional. Everyone involved, from the implementation team to our Customer Success Manager and the HealthAsyst support team, has worked with us to align their platform with what works best for us.

Cons

The only Con is our WIFI. Although the WIFI issues are on our side, CheckinAsyst is working with our IT to alleviate any issues.
