However, the UI for file lookup and document viewing could be more intuitive, and the download option is not easy to find. Additionally, it would be beneficial if the archival view in the map viewer displayed the document creation year rather than the upload date, as this would make it easier to identify relevant historical records. I would also appreciate greater emphasis on ensuring users upload the latest as-built drawings, as these are the documents we rely on most frequently in our day-to-day work. Having the most current as-builts available would improve accuracy, efficiency, and overall usability of the system. Pros The map feature is extremely helpful for locating work locations quickly and accurately. It provides a clear visual reference, making navigation much easier. Additionally, the document view integrated with the location information adds significant value, as it helps users access and review relevant documents in the context of a specific location. Overall, this functionality improves efficiency, enhances user experience, and makes location-based work management much more convenient. Cons What I like least about EMS is the UI for file lookup and document viewing, as it is not very intuitive and makes it difficult to quickly find and access files. Additionally, the download option is not easy to locate and should be made more visible and user-friendly. Another improvement would be in the map viewer's archival feature. It would be much more helpful to display the year the document was created rather than the upload date, as this provides more meaningful context when searching for and reviewing historical documents. I am constantly learning new features or ways to help my clients using redeye. This is a valuable tool and easy to use. Pros When the system is set up well and the clients are engaged in using it, this system works well for one source of truth, accessible by all. Markups are quick, the revision history provides full traceability, and day-to-day use by site is easy (as long as the metadata is complete so that the drawings are findable) Cons If the system is not set up well then the whole thing falls over. No one can find their drawings so they resort to storing drawings on personal devices, resulting in multiple concurrent revisions being worked on. More consideration needs to be put in at the time of the original engagement so that site can start using it immediately - when you are on site you want to be able to find your drawings quickly and know that you are working on the latest revision. Pros The search engine is reasonably strong and helps me find what I'm after. The interface is easy to follow. The collection function is very helpful, as are the favourite searches to make finding artefacts more efficient. Cons The way we have set up categories and folders isn't very intuitive, but that's not the softwares failing. It takes a long time to 'print' drawings sometimes, and it is not always obvious when they can be downloaded. The drop down menus and options are not always obvious. Review Source GP Gomeda P. Compared to the competition it is heads and shoulders above any other solution. EMS has always grown and improved over the years. Pros I have been using scheduling systems for over 25 years and EMS is the gold standard. It is intuitive, powerful, and does everything you need for scheduling meetings, events, classes, and much more. I have been lucky to have been able to implement several upgrades over years from EMS Lite to EMS Pro, and eventually to EMS Campus. Cons Compared to other scheduling solutions there is not much I don't like about EMS. The online interface can be a little slow at times. Review Source ST Sarah T. I find it's a very powerful database that is vastly better than other alternatives I have seen. however, my experience has been one of seeing my coworkers abandoning the database in favor of other platforms they find more user-friendly. Our IT department abandoned it in favor of Service Now, our catering staff abandoned it in favor a catering-specific product, and my new department head prefers to use Salesforce because she likes the reporting feature better, even though EMS does a better job of resource management. Pros EMS is a powerful database that is able to retain a lot of complex data. Cons The search features are a bit old school -- they require people to know more about data entry than is currently taught in schools. Most people these days don't seem familiar with the concept of entering names last-name-first for example, but EMS still requires that 1st contact names be set up and searched for this way. I would advise either a more intelligent search feature that can search for a string ("george") as both a first and a last name or a new format that breaks the name down into two fields. Cons Sometimes there are things that we need that it can not do, and we provide feedback, but do not feel like we are heard, except at the Insights conference. Cons I would like to be able to manage reservations at the booking level rather than the reservation level to allow seamless management of reservations across multiple departments. September 10, 2018 4.0 We used EMS for internal and external events within our organization. We recently switched to Communico and I'm desperately missing EMS, which seemed built for our needs. We could easily tell what events were internal and which ones were external, what was a meeting and what was a special event. Pros EMS let us view all of our events happening in one day on one easy-to-view screen. I could easily sort via a drop down and insert things like furniture, a/v needs, and other information by copying it over from another event. I also liked the ability to copy an entire event without having to do much work. Reports are easy to read. I liked that I could see who created each event so I knew who to contact if I had questions. Cons There's a lot going on with this software. It seemed as though some ways of doing things were convoluted, but once I figured it out, it was easy. It was a little slow at times, but we DID have an outdated version. Their customer service is always willing to go the extra mile to help you out. Cons EMS pushes updates to the software at least monthly but a lot of bugs go unnoticed. Some of their notification features, the Web App and Room Sign App/Kiosk leaves much to be desired. I don't always feel that EMS values the input of their customers. Pros I am able to see what events are occurring in which buildings we have on campus. One of the administrators has set up queries for me to look for specifics in our buildings. That saves me A LOT of time. Cons One of the recent complaints I have received from one of our craftsmen is that those who are doing the scheduling can override the system or skip some of the blocks that are purposely built in that causes them challenges. I really like the options the reservation system offers. It tracks every reservation that has been scheduled whether it's been cancelled or not. The function of putting in the actual attendance vs. the anticipated attendance helps us keep track of groups and plan for the future reservations. Cons I've always felt that this software is not easy to use initially. It's easier now that I have used it more often, but from the beginning, it was quite difficult to figure out how to use it.
