Customer service was extremely helpful and fast. AND they followed up, which is rare these days. Pros What I like most about Bandzoogle are the amount of features available in the pro plan. Funnels, mailing list, merchandise on demand, music players, and more. There are a LOT of tools geared toward musicians that you either can't get or have to pay more for via services like Squarespace or GoDaddy. Cons I think just getting used to the GUI (graphic user interface) took some time. It's not as fluid as I'd like it to be, but once I spent some time with it, I know where everything is now. It serves all my needs to interact with fans beyond the streaming services and gives people who find me on social media a place to dive deeper and/or form a closer relationship. Pros It provides an easy template for me to build a website that is visually interesting while having all the tools I need to effectively display my songs. I also love how easy it is to send out email campaigns when releasing new music. It is also very easy for visitors to purchase songs and sign up for the email list. When I initially had some difficulty learning how to use some aspects of the site, the staff were very responsive and helpful. One of the best companies I have interacted with in the music business! Cons Some of the technical parts of the website took me a little while to learn to use, but that was likely more my issue than theirs. I like the way my website works, I understand how to edit it, and I LOVE the different features that have been brought together under one 'roof', so to speak. Pros The consolidation of features into one place which is how the company and concept started, as I understand it. Cons The availability of templates would be the biggest con, and there aren't that many. Looking at the websites of colleagues, it is apparent that some other hosting services are a bit more forward-thinking in this area. Been using it a year now, never bugged once and that just assures peace of mind. Love this product. Pros While you might be able to find other tools that do one part of the system a little better, Bandzoogle has a pretty solid set of tools all in one place. It is the easiest way for us to manage our website with most features we need for all aspects of our band. Cons There are a few tools I'd like to see have a few more configuration options, but overall what you get is great and acceptable. The value of the whole system far surpasses nitpicking on any one part of it. Reason for choosing Bandzoogle All the tools in one system makes managing everything so much easier. It has been very easy to create a quick good looking website. Pros Bandzoogle has been a really good short term solution for the website of my new Sound therapy business. It was very easy to setup and use my own color branding. Creating pages pages is quick and easy. Cons I have many repeating events. I wish it were easier to create repeating events that you collect payments on the website. Right now you can't create repeating events that you collect payments for. You have to list them one at a time. This takes a very long time. Musician Music Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "From a WordPress user" November 4, 2023 4.0 Overall, I give it an 8/10. If they add the search function it would be 9.5/10. If they increase speed it would be 10/10. Pros It really is a fantastic website builder. While it's limited in how deep you can customize, it makes up with nice built in plug-ins and themes that can be adjust quickly. Another positive note is that you can switch themes without losing your content because it's a structured layout. Meaning it will readjust your content to fit the new theme style. Not flawless, but pretty sweet. Also the price is pretty good, especially for cdbaby users who get a discount. Cons My biggest complaint is with the blog section. There has to be a search function or it's just a giant useless thread of a mess. Second would be the speed. Using the wrong font could completely jam up loading speeds because of what they have running in the background. I'm switching to Wix (website builder) + Convertkit for Email newsletters Pros Easy to set up Decent templates to choose from Not bad for a "first website" experience Cons 1\. The built in newsletter is seriously limited. There seems to be no way to send an email with an image that fits to width on Android, ios, and desktop. What's more, the customer support just doesn't seem to understand this very simple problem! I've been going back & forth with them for months, and they seem to want me to do a bunch of the heavy lifting (testing, getting to the solution, etc). 2. Limited blocks You can add basic texts, images, headers, and photo galleries. But any more creative blocks, forget about it. For example, it's important for me to have accordions on my website (foldable headers that click to expand info). However, BZ simply doesn't have this & told me to hire a programmer to make this separately. This cost me a lot of money & effort! And the features give me options to update content weekly, instead of a single page that never needs updating like other products I have used. Pros I am able to keep all our info and communications in one place. The blog feature allows us to create post in one place that we can then share to social media. No more recreating post for every service, just one post to share! And it drives fans to your website where they may stay for a bit and find a live show coming up, or buy a shirt. Cons A little more flexibility with text formatting would be nice. For example, if I could change the text color on the title of blogs, that would help it stand out against the background. Because of the sales I’ve been able to move. Pros Bandzoogle is a great place to start when trying to create a hub for your business. Giving people a place to gather every thing they need to know and what to do with it. A lot of other websites builders make you pay so much extra for what Bandzoogle will give you for $22. So many rival websites build can get up to $60 a month which is crazy for an independent artist. $60 goes a long way for people like that, and I’m people. So I’m greatful to be able to share my content my way for an affordable price. Cons Again the lack of font options and the color palette! That says it all. Pros As producer, editor, and host of a weekly current affairs program, Eastern Standard, on WEKU in Richmond, Kentucky, I have relied on our Bandzoogle site to provide listeners with opportunities to stream our content on-demand. I find the administration of the site, esweku.org, relatively free of challenges, and when one arises the support provided by BZ is consistently very helpful and thoughtful. This is one of six BZ sites with a variety of focuses that I manage and cannot recommend them more highly. Site-building is super easy with their templates and whenever I was stuck, the support team were incredibly responsive, positive, and helpful! I also liked the analytics: easy to read. Cons It’s been a while but from what I can remember, I remember feeling frustrated that I couldn’t always drag and drop a block exactly where I wanted on the page (was it from a different page?). I had to drag it to the desired page and then manually “move it down” one block at a time to the desired position. Also, I’ve seen brilliant landing pages designed through Wix and wondered if there was a way in Bandzoogle to make mine look just as well laid out. Not sure if it is just lack of design skills on my part but it might be nice to have landing page templates offered in Bandzoogle. I also would like to see SEO more customizable for each page. I've used other sites for non-music but for this, it seems like a natural choice as, for example, it's set up with templates for EPKs, for YouTube videos that fit to the page, for sharing whole albums, for delivering downloadable press photos, and so much more. I love the ease of creating my own little world in this site, with great color and design choices, the ability to change the sizes of images easily, so many possibilities to play with and update and toggle visibility for.
