From keeping my computer running as it ages, to the excellent customer service I received the few times I have needed it, my experience could not be better. Pros I like to keep my technology as long as possible. This means that it can get a little cranky as it gets older and using CleanMyMac has helped me keep my tech running smoothly for as long as possible. It is also simple to install, use, and understand. Cons Not a fan of subscription model software. July 29, 2021 5.0 Easy to use, clean interface, gives peace of mind... overall, a very good experience Pros CleanMyMac X is simple to use, it reminds me to use it, and basically takes just one click to run. If you want to dive deeper, there are a range of options, including identifying what is taking up space on your machine. Cons I can't really think of anything negative about this software. Pros The uninstaller is a lifesaver, somehow Apple has not been able to give enough info uninstalling apps and it always feels like there is junk left behind. Not with CleanmyMac. Love that feature. It’s easy to lose track of installations and bulky files, translating into “when and how did I fill up my HD?”, the tools for large file search and file exploration on when was the last time you used the files or apps help out a lot too. The dashboard is intuitive and prompts you to check things and run tasks. Pros I like the recommendations that I get to improve my Mac's efficiency. Without prompting it's easy for my Mac to start getting cluttered and begin to run more slowly without me noticing. I freed up Gigabytes of space on my hard drive finding lots of duplicate files in my file archives. Cons Nothing really to dislike. It does what it does really well. The price might be a bit high for some, but I got the app with a Setapp subscription, which makes it really worthwhile. Reason for choosing CleanMyMac I used to use lots of individual smaller apps for single purposes (e.g. app removals or finding duplicate photos), but they were often not as user friendly and not as intuitive to use. It is easy to use, keeps a million pieces of garbage off of my machines, and protects against any virus manifestation. It is simple and effective and better than anything that Apple recommended. I have used it for several years and is the first thing I install with a new computer upgrade. Pros The software is easy to use and I have it installed in all 3 MACs that I have in my home. It speeds them all up, gets rid of unwanted clutter, and keeps the machines from being infected. It even reminds me that it's time to run which helps me stay on top of keeping my computers safe and effective. Cons I didn't think to install it sooner. It is a terrific product that keeps up with the various MAC OS upgrades. I thought I needed a new laptop, but CleanMyMac X bought me a couple more years with it. I use it about once a month to clean it up and check security. It's so easy to use and effective. When I originally purchased a year's subscription I thought I would use it once for a big clean-up job and then not renew, but I found I used it all year long and wanted to continue with it so I have renewed for another year. Pros It is extremely easy to use and straightforward. I like the visuals of it. It gives me little pop ups when I should use it, but the pop ups are not aggressive or annoying at all. Pros Easy to use with multiple aspects and it provides helpful tools. Cons It crashes my Macbook Pro at least three times out of seven every time it is about three quarters finished with the cleaning, which then requires an additional twenty minutes of start-up time to reboot and clean again. Needed a tool that could assist with various "clean-up" and "optimization" tasks to keep my computer running smoothly. The experience is smooth, easy to navigate and I enjoy the fact that various tasks are broken up. You can choose to perform as many or as few as you wish and they give you an assessment before running the final action. Pros Having a single tool with multiple features makes CleanMyMacX a breeze to use when it comes to having multiple team members. Cons The only negative with this software is that it sometimes asks me to sign in or re-verify my license. Not a difficult task, but shouldn't really happen. Reason for choosing CleanMyMac Seemed to include the features I wanted all in a single package, so I gave it a chance.
