Pros: There are so many features to use in dentrix that can really benefit a company. From custom reports to ease of scheudling and a help center. Customer service is always good and helpful, although, not always fixing the whole problem that we may have. However, they are always polite and ready to help.

Cons: Because there are so many features, we maybe know how to use a fraction of them. We have never really had any training on it and it can be costly to sign up for classes that really only cover the basics. I really want to learn! There is no in depth training and each time I have an issue I feel like only parts of the problme get fixed until I call like 3 times.

Overall: Custom Reports, Communication/Integration from Dentrix to other platforms like Solution Reach for appointment reminders and continuing care.

Pros: It's powerful for the front office. Has a lot of reports that can be generated. Customizable. Can enter time on procedure codes.

Cons: Not for the average user even if they go to training. The end user has to be computer savvy and has an exceptional attention to detail. Front office heavy. Treatment planner presentation is not adequate. eServices bundle includes stuff that's not needed or used. Inaccurate when it comes to continuing care data. Although customizable, software limits the characters for labeling on definitions such as Appointment Status. Too many data fields that are hidden or hard to find therefore, causes a lot of inadequate data entry due to confusing and busy display and fields. Unscheduled treatment plan reports does not show that patients have already appointed for some on the treatment list. Can't easily generate or create referral template unless the user also has advanced knowledge of MS Word. Clinical template creation is difficult. Lab manager is too clunky. eServices insurance verification is too clunky and glitchy. Could not generate a list of specific procedures attached to a patient's name. For example, list of patients with premolar and molar endo on their treatment plan. I have a Dentrix superuser on my team. We had to use mail merge for this. Procedure code appointment length customization is pointless since the software does not properly calculate clinician and assistant times when entering multiple procedures.

Overall: I don't have to have paper charts or appointment book.

Pros: It's easy to navigate, there are so many things that Dentrix can do for your practice that alot of people dont know about. Utilize their training and resource center. If you can learn this software transitioning into any other dental mgmt software will be cake. With the dentrix you have the ability to be completely paperless with ease.

Cons: honestly nothing, I guess if I were to try to come up with something it would be that after you run an update there are always glitches, but they are minor and dentrix fixes them extremely quickly

Pros: Dentrix is extremely user friendly and I feel like there are so many ways and options to keep your practice nice and organized.

Cons: Although I love Dentrix, there are a few areas where things are easily duplicated and that can make organization challenging, at time. Also, it was not compatible with our Kodak software for xrays.

Pros: I like the fact that it is easy to pick up on and that it is very organized for the organization and its use

Cons: what I like least about this software is that it crashes a lot of times which I'm not sure if that's a company issue or an issue with the software itself

This company is horrible and I feel find your software somewhere else. Do not use this company!

Cons: After being pressured to have training by a certain amount of time, we scheduled due to this company pressuring me with an expiration of training and conversion. My Mother was sick with a brain tumor shortly after we purchased the software and they were unwilling to return it. They stated we would have a fee to return and it was in our best interest to hold onto it till we were ready for implement. This was in early September of 2016. My Mom passed March 6, 2017. My father had Pancreatic cancer and was ill. He died on the first day of training August 16, 2017. I was devastated and they could care less. No compassion in this corporation. They were unwilling to train me without a huge fee attached. I'm the dentist and can't use my own software. They would not even consider a price break in the cost of my training after my Fathers funeral. I'm sorry but it actually doesn't get worse than that. I found the departments were disconnected and the entire process frustrating. NEVER BUY DENTRIX. I will be sure to inform ALL my dental colleges and also anyone who asks me about software of their terrible customer service.

Pros: I loved the ease of using the software and all of the different options for charting as well as being able to find patient information.

Overall: Everything was easy - not much of a learning curve which is a huge plus for those that aren't tech savvy

Pros: Very easy to use! I use this program on a daily basis and don't have very many problems. If there is a problem techs get right on it. Dentrix conferences can definitely help you get the training you need as well.

Cons: Occasionally the program will run slow. But we just reboot our system and that usually fixes the problem. I had other concerns however after a weekend of training at a Dentrix conference most my areas of concern were addressed.

Overall: My day just goes really smooth when I have a dependable program I can depend on day in and day out.

Pretty easy to use!

Pros: Flexibility! Nice to be able to go back and forth from treatment plan, to chart, to ledger, as well as be able to compare perio summaries from last visit to current evaluation!

Cons: No voice activation perio charting! Also, need voice activated charting for all aspects of charting!

Pros: It's easy to use on a daily basics and with our staff and patient count it helps to keep us all on the same page.

Cons: Complex in details as far as the icon buttons that we don't utilize Daily so changing formats can be confusing

Pros: I like that you can do the same thing many different ways in dentrix. You find something new all the time that you didn't know was there.

Cons: I do not like that everyone has to be out of dentrix to run finance charges. Everyone also has to be out to run updates.

Pros: There are many different ways to complete one task. I love the e-claims because we get paid so much faster than with snail mail.

Cons: I do not like having to go to work early or stay late to do the updates and close out the end of month.

Pros: It is very easy to use. I love the resources that you can get on line plus the chat experience. The icons are really neat when you learn all of the tricks

Cons: I need more adjustment codes. The capability to get rid of old codes that are repetitive are not easily discarded

Cons: The E-services seems to often have technical difficulties. Recently notifications of who has received e-mail and text message reminders was not accessible and not working with our website company to publish review.

Pros: Ledger, chart.. centralized data is an effective framework for a scalable business model. It's just good.

Cons: Reporting.. the tools present in the software are suboptimal and need to be addressed. Hard to manage definitions too.

Pros: the automated note templates making doing notes quicker. the perio chart is all inclusive and covers lots of details

Cons: the continuing care module. when I'm looking to see if the are due for a D180 (perio chart) it won't add the time frame i set up automatically to the date i put in, it only adds to todays date

Pros: Ease of use for front end staff. Posting of payments and adjustments show up in ledger which provides at a glance balance.

Pros: User friendly, I am able to navigate around the chart, patient notes and ledger fairly easily. I love that there are different ways to get to the same area. So we can do what makes it easier for us as individuals.

Cons: Not being able to use dates when we are writing notes like on the lever or in the tx plan. I really like the date format.

Cons: I wish the additional provider added would be added to the ledger for Dr exam. I with the treatment planner was easier to use

Cons: It's a little slow on updating the Dr doesn't close under correct provider I don't like how you can't archive pt with out zero balance on ledger

Pros: Fairly easy to use for all staff. It has been helpful in identifying production as well as on tracking patient informatino (e.g., missed appointments, etc.)

Cons: Non customizable reports and inconvenience of having to go to batch processing for printing - it would be helpful if printing could be done after reports have been set up.

Pros: I like the blue I button. I use it a lot. The clinical notes are easy to get to and easy to modify them.

Cons: It takes to many clicks to get to the reports and they take forever to print. The prescription for e prescribe doesn't work at all.

Overall: The ease of billing, and printing statements. Scheduling is easier.

It has been a great one! Dentrix ROCKS!

Pros: I like the functionality of the and ease of use. It is totally user friendly and easy to train on.

Cons: Clicking on other appointments tab, there should be a feature that shows upcoming appointments ONLY.

Pros: I appreciate the professional team of sales and staff that support dentrix software and hardware areas.

Cons: I would like to see more in our area again small classes for training. It seems the St. Louis area is not hosting many small classes.

Pros: It's a cloud. I enjoy that we have 2 locations and are able to view both offices from one locations makes it more efficient.

Cons: Ledger is so complicated so hard to deal with the suspended credit and to allocate money is so much more difficult than Dentrix.

I'm new to Dentrix and find many features to be convenient.

Pros: I really like how quickly you can get from one module to another and the support you get when something goes wrong. Remote access is the best!

Cons: There is just so much you can do with Dentrix, sometimes it is a bit overwhelming to figure it all out.

Pros: Many wonderful things have been added and extremely useful. Like that all staff can access journal, clinical notes, etc to be sure patients get the best in care.

Cons: TOO MANY GLITCHES! Since upgrading 1st of April have spent average of 5 hours / day on with techs to try & resolve a multitude of issues.. June 28 we upgraded to highest G6 available & have less issues, but still on w/techs at least a couple hours a day a couple days per week.

Dentrix is so user friendly! Amazing support too!

Pros: Support is fantastic. Easy to use and train on. Our reporting is seem less. Tooth charting and treatment planning is easy. Billing insurance and fee scales works great. We can set up things any way we want.

Cons: I wish there was more customization. There are things I would like to happen but are constarined by design.

Overall: Benefits to us as an FQHC is amazing. Reporting is great

Pros: I appreciate the work that goes into making changes in the system. They are functional and easy to implement into our daily life.

Cons: Eservices are more than occasionally not working or got changed and now doesn't work. It takes a long time to take the time to call to get things running again.

Pros: Very easy to use and the icons on each page are very specific to what they do so it makes it easy to find what you are searching for.

Cons: It takes some time with switch to load some screens due to large amounts of information. So it takes more time to pull up charting for each patient.

Pros: i like the most about the software how when information is lost or deleted its easy to location and how the patients files stay within family members

Cons: there not much to not like about this software but we do have problems sometimes when it gets updated

Love, have used others and Dentrix by far is the best

Pros: How all the patients information is linked to each component of the soft wear. So easy to use and you find what you need quickly.

Cons: I think that the updates can sometimes throw me off because things move around and I am a person who doesnt get used to change too quickly

First time using any sort of software as such and it was been easy to learn

Pros: Not having any experience and it has been easy to learn and pick up new things and features every day

Cons: IT has so many features that at first its a little overwhelming, and as someone who is new to the software and the field i dont always know how to get the information needed to use the system

Pros: for me it would be the practice analysis as a manager. it helps to manage the systems in the office.

Cons: i would say the patient recall. it is very cumbersome. we are working with recall system pro that works with Dentrix and it is amazing.

Pros: All the features we use. There are so many that we haven't even utilized yet but we should. It also has the ability to work with many other softwares to send claims or to remind patients of their appointments

Cons: It isnt very easy to learn. It takes a call to tech support sometimes for us to figure out even little things

Difficult layers of screens requiring many mouse clicks to navigate; old-fashioned design.

Pros: Handling of patient financial information is superb, integration of outside vendor x-ray program is excellent.

Cons: Data set-up in difficult displays, real need for updating display of data, complex navigation to get what you need, probably this is an old program with patches added here and there designed by computer people with little dentist input.

Comments: Having used 3 other Dental Practice management softwares, and expecting to be impressed with Dentrix, I was disappointed. It is not user friendly. Many useless icons, and grossly overpriced.

Comments: Dentrix continuously advertise advanced features as if they are currently available. If you Inquire about buying them - you can't. They are not available! They can't even provide a promise date as to when they will be available. These guys are really good at marketing their ideas, but REALLY LOUSY at delivering them to their customers.

Pros: Scheduling is probably the one thing that works ok

Cons: not user friendly , horrible support, expensive, not all inclusive , constant glitches and crashes

Overall: the rep that sold it to my office misrepresented what options the software came with. we purchased it for around K , then had to purchase licensing for all computers, then had it installed only to find out that it does not come with all the module included and you had to pay extra for the services like ebilling and ecentral (which malfunctions all the time)
the service is horrible, the contact is expensive and does not cover the tech on site. The online support is not bad but not able to solve many issues. The techs that came to the office and set up the whole thing did a terrible job and the software is constantly not working properly. They cam in and set up my whole network and server and none of it works well and consistently. Software is not user friendly and required many hours to get it to work OK. Features like insurances and notes are very hard to set up to where they should be to work well.
They charged money for the file transfer from ACE and that was a complete screw up and we basically had to start from scratch on everything. Took a Year to clean up the mess. If I could do it over again I would steer clear of Dentrix

Pros: Comprehensive office management. All inclusive.

Cons: Crashes often. Too much dowtime. Credit Card acceptance feature (Power Pay) non compliant with industry standards, and the liability for that is borne by our office!

Overall: The basic package is OK. It crashes often. Takes lots and lots of time with IT support before it runs OK. But, if you buy into some of the advanced features - prepare to bare some liability risk on their behalf! Their credit card processing software (Power Pay) is not compliant with credit card industry standards, and will make your practice NON-PCI Compliant. They have been telling me they are working to fix that for several years. They will never commit to a date when a fix will be available, and after several years they have made zero progress.

Recommendations to other buyers: Research all you options before you buy. There are other products in the marketplace. Dentrix is very expensive and does not deliver all that they promise it to be.

Comments: Nice and easy and thanks for keeping it simple. Love working in Dentrix. When I have had issues Customer service has been helpful. There are times when you get someone that has no Idea what they are talking about.

Pros: Dentrix understands the typical dental office and covers the needs adequately.

Cons: It is expensive. It is difficult to use in a very large practice. We have 10 hygienists. There are restraints with customizing and reporting with that many practitioners.
Customer service is average. I have experienced far superior customer service, so when I went back to Dentrix, it was very noticeably.

Overall: I have used Dentrix software in several different offices over the past 20 years. It definitely covers everything a dental office needs.

Pros: The tools provide to allow for diagnostic images

Cons: Can not pull two different images up at once to compare.

Overall: This software is easy to learn. I love the options you have to manipulate the images. Out of my ten-year career, this is by far my favorite. The quality is great.

Recommendations to other buyers: Once you use it you will fall in love.

Pros: Ease of use....intuitive....everything in one place....easy to explain to a staff member

Cons: would be good to know what type of computer processsor or memory it works best with.

Overall: I have worked with Practice Works which was pretty good minus a few quirks, Open Dental by FAR the best software available, intuitive and easy to navigate, minimal clicking compared to the worst software that I have EVER encountered. You would think this was 1990 with the limited capabilities and quirks. The worst software ever. Don't get fooled.

Recommendations to other buyers: Go with something other than Dentrix. Anything!! Eaglesoft, Practicework better off with Open Dental people.

Much more functionality than listed.

Comments: Dentric has much more functionality than listed. It's only missing imaging. After personally using Curve Hero, SoftDent, Open Dental, and Dentacon; Dentrix and Open Dental were the most user friendly and functionality of those above. If you need more customized functions, Dentrix easily integrates with other 3rd party software. There are some improvements that both could do to improve the software. Dentrix Kiosk could use a more patient friendly interface and a more condensed output, especially for health histories. The scripted clinical notes interface works fairly well, but still needs refinement. It would be nice if Dentrix created a one page dashboard that shows charting, treatment planning, health history, Current Rx's, clinical notes... If I were looking for a server based program today I would get Dentrix or Open Dental.

Stay Away ... Dentrix sales are strong, Dentrix follow through after the product is sold: HIDEOUS

Cons: Extremely poor project management, little communication, tech team is not helpful.

Overall: Dentrix was sold to this practice prior to my arrival. The former Director asked Dentrix for a Project Plan for a full month and never received one. I asked for two additional months, and received one with "proposed dates". Then, with 5 days notice, the installation date was chosen (without my input) and trainers were flying in. Unbelievably bad planning on Dentrix's part.

Recommendations to other buyers: Do not buy it.

Umbelieveble failure after failures in getting it right.

Comments: Very versatile reports if data is entered properly.
Extremely poor customer service and unbelievably poor Technical support structure.
Level o tech support read from instructions without understanding what the issue is. Many times they cannot even "hear" the issue you are asking about however they act as if they have the answer!
Stay away.

Comments: Dentrix is rather straight forward and certainly an enterprise quality piece of software. They make everything in a Dental Practice much better all the time and their customer service always has the right answer. I support 5 dental practices and all use Dentrix which has been outstanding compared to other solutions.

Comments: The software isn't even HIPPA compliant! Dentrix is so old and antiquated that it does not even have a "pop-up calendar like every $19 software program in existence. Imagine the thrill of paying $7000 just to type 8 numbers in every time you change a date. Want a font or color change? IMPOSSIBLE!
The accounting part of the program is prone to errors and requires constant baby sitting.
Customer service wait times are very long and you can get multiple different answers from different techs.
DON'T BE TRICKED! Flashy ads and claims are just marketing!
