Pros

Dentrix is very user friendly and has many features for many needs

Cons

Too many clicking steps, not cloud based and not enough initial training. You have to dig to get the full use out of this product. Once you do, though, it’s great

We have been very happy with Dentrix overall - we have outsourced a few areas but other than that - 35 years and going strong!

Pros

I have been using Dentrix for 35 years and it has grown with the times and always remained easy to use with regular updates.

Cons

It would really help to have ortho maximums added/ with insurance codes used. Also if a patient is under 14 auto detect the prophy a child prophy. Fluoride has an age in coverage tables / dentrix should auto detect they do or don’t have coverage.

They are giving me a pain right now. I have had to upgrade my computers many times to handle their upgrades, and their program is never re written, the program just gets larger each time.

Pros

very large expensive program, employees find it hard to learn, some even quit. not intuitive. requires a lot of training for new employees.

Cons

the customer service. they are always sending you offshore, and the techs are not trained. you have to call back a lot to find a competent tech. they don't service you well.For instance, I have called 3 times to upgrade Dentrix software to a more current version. Each time I was told that the person who installs the software has gone home. On Today's call, the person answering the phone said that the installer had gone home. It is the 4th time I have called, and I asked why he has gone home since it is only 2:30 PM in the afternoon. The representative said he only installs Dentrix updates Monday-Thursday 5AM - 2 PM and Fridays 5AM to 1 PM! I am so angry because had any of the other people answering the phones told me this, I would have known when to call back! This is terrible customer service! Do they only have one person installing Dentrix updates? I am so upset that I drove to the office on a day off specifically to install this update, at 2:30 pm AND THE INSTALLER HAS GONE HOME AGAIN! What the heck is going on? I also scheduled a call from the installer and never got a call back. This is really Mickey Mouse for a company that is supposed to be the biggest and the best. I am really beginning to regret working with Dentrix.

It’s been great for our practice. Easy for everyone to use in the office with minimal training due to its intuitive use.

Pros

The scheduling of patients is very easy to use and manage. The ledger is easy to read And follow. The X-rays is fantastic. The software is very powerful.

Cons

There’s a lot of bells and whistles in the software that you may not need and that can slow down the use of it. So there’s not much not to dislike about it.

My previous job at my father's dental office worked with paper files for the first 30 years. We finally convinced him to upgrade and get a computer system. We chose Dentrix and I'm glad we did! I don't have experience with others to compare, but it was such a great software. Also, you can print out the patient's chart to have a backup paper chart to file in case of an emergency.

Pros

\- Dentrix has a ton of features that makes scheduling appointments mostly easy and stress-free. - It's easy to find the codes after the patient received their treatment and add it to their digital chart. - Easy to print patients' charts for backup files. - Billing made easy. - Customer support was always excellent

Cons

\- Costly. - It can take a bit to learn everything within the software. - Only Windows compatible. I have Windows but that can be an issue for those who are Mac owners. - When scheduling appointments, sometimes the boxes cover other appointment times making them nonvisible, which ultimately makes you not realize an appointment is there and mess up the appointments for that time slot and surrounding.

Good software when is running. Difficult to deal with technical issues. And very expensive. Not worth the price!

Pros

I like how Dentrix integrates all clinical aspects of the practice under one program

Cons

It is very expensive. Great marketing will have you believe you are buying the Cadillac of dental software. You must sign-up and pay monthly for technical support. They provide frequent updates, which never install smoothly. You are forced to call customer support. And they will talk to you with an attitude. Plan to spend a long time on-hold. And then a long time installing those updates. Very frustrating!

We were buying dental supplies from \[SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN\]. Thought it would be a good idea to get the software through them too. Keep it all together. Not necessarily true. Dentrix and \[SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN\] act like two completely separate companies. No reason to stick to Dentrix if you already buy your supplies from \[SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN\].

I wish we could go back to Eaglesoft. I have been using Dentrix for 7-8 years. 7-8 frustrating years.

Pros

I don't think there is a category to like the most...

Cons

The "support" is useless. We have called and emailed for weeks trying to get help and have been brushed off and completely ignored.The software itself is unnecessarily overcomplicated

Pros

We are needing to convert from EasyDental to Dentrix as they are from \[SENSITIVE CONTENT\]

Cons

Integration is turning out to be a headache! They want to charge for every little thing and didn't tell me about extra charges until right before! "oh by the way, document conversion is just another $860 on top of everything else...did you want to add that?" What????? Of course I wanted to add that! We have spent hours putting thousands of documents into the system, only to not have them convert????!!!! Why is this not included and why was I not told this in the beginning????? Not to mention I send and email, or ask a question and they take weeks to get back to me. Often only when I call them do they finally respond.

Overall, it has been a positive experience using Dentrix. It is very user friendly .The financial tools are very beneficial as well. It is an awesome program to be exact!

Pros

The most awesome thing about Dentrix that was super convenient was Dentrix ledger, it automatically calculates the insurance benefits and patient responsibility as well as patient bills.

Cons

Only problem I really encountered was occasional glitches' which slowed things down.

Overall, Dentrix is overall a great dental management software for the price.

Pros

The claims/billing management is quite easy to use. User-friendly software and easy to train staff on.

Cons

The x-ray uploading, loading and transferring. Horrible integration especially where sensitivity and accuracy are so important. There are also issues when you have people with the same name.

### "Good Single Office Starter Dental PM Software"

Dentrix was a good system for pre-pandemic, server based PM software for a single office. But now with multiple practices and working remotely, a cloud based system really is more realistic.

Pros

Was easy to use for myself and staff after training and acclimation period. Had all features that were needed to run a dental practice.

Cons

Finding various reports were difficult and took some digging around in. There was no way to remotely view the software, if someone wanted to remote in it to view a schedule or someone's benefits or chart notes, it would require taking control of the entire computer and someone in the office could not use it. Additional texting with patients was not two way (real time back and forth) and was not integrated into the software, required logging into a separate website not linked in Dentrix.

Dentrix makes managing all aspects of a dental practice convenient and easy

Pros

This is by far the best dental management software I have personalky used. Everything is easy to navigate, there is not a task that I have encountered that Dentrix was not capable of, customer support is always helpful

Cons

The only flaw I have found is with treatment planning, I do think I need a tutorial but I can never get the computer figures to match the figures we come up with

Pros

I have used another software years ago, switched to Dentrix and am glad I did. They are always adding new, improved modules to their system. Keep up the good works.

Cons

I know we don't use near all of the bells and whistles of this product. Need to have easy way to integrate new features without hiring a consultant.

Pros

Dentrix integrates with other software we use, such as Dexis and Yapi.

Cons

Depending on the report you run we tend to get different numbers. We have worked with Dentrix to fix this but it is still not accurate.

It works, but it is not pleasant to use. It is inefficient. As the title says, it is the QWERTY of dental management software.

Pros

It has a lot of features and allows us to keep track of what we need to keep track of in our office. It is the most widely used dental management software, so many dental employees are somewhat familiar with it.

Cons

It is not user friendly. It is not intuitive. It is clunky with a capital "CLUNK". Navigating through the modules does not follow basic computer navigation norms. For instance, when something (like a patient's name) is highlighted, clicking ENTER does not open that file. In fact, they are not even consistent from one module to another. There are many instances where you would expect one click to get you where you want to go, but instead it takes two or three clicks. Also, Dentrix requires more powerful computers to run than competitors. That, of course, means higher costs to use.

Reason for choosing Dentrix

Staff already familiar with it and felt it would be too painful to switch.

### "Poor to non existent customer service and technical support"

Customer service and technical support used to be good. Last couple of years that changed for the worse. Waiting time for someone to answer a call is longer than 30 minutes and if anyone does answer, it is always a technician located overseas, with very poor understanding and command of both the English language and the software. They are answering questions by reading a script that often does not make any sense. To be connected to a technician located in the US, which are all very professional and knowledgeable, it is almost impossible. As i am typing this review, i have been on hold for 40 minutes and counting.

Pros

Product is complex and relatively easy to use, but each update makes it less dependable. Each new update adds features that are practically useless and make the whole thing more cumbersome to use.

Cons

Customer service and technical support.

the rep that sold it to my office misrepresented what options the software came with. we purchased it for around K , then had to purchase licensing for all computers, then had it installed only to find out that it does not come with all the module included and you had to pay extra for the services like ebilling and ecentral (which malfunctions all the time) the service is horrible, the contact is expensive and does not cover the tech on site. The online support is not bad but not able to solve many issues. The techs that came to the office and set up the whole thing did a terrible job and the software is constantly not working properly. They cam in and set up my whole network and server and none of it works well and consistently. Software is not user friendly and required many hours to get it to work OK. Features like insurances and notes are very hard to set up to where they should be to work well. They charged money for the file transfer from ACE and that was a complete screw up and we basically had to start from scratch on everything. Took a Year to clean up the mess. If I could do it over again I would steer clear of Dentrix

Dentrix costumer service is rally good and they are good with helping you answer the concerns or questions you have. Its a great software when its compare with many software I've used in the past and I wouldn't go back to the other ones. I always recommend Dentrix to any new dentist or dental offices cause I have a great experience with it, we just need to modify it to make it better for us clinicians.

Pros

This software is very compatible with most computer programs, has great tools to work with and is backup by great costumer service.

Cons

They are many separate windows for every single component, due to its many tools and versatility is a little hard to navigate and find certain tools or complicated on how to use them. Needs to be a little more simplify or have a content window with links that leads to what you are looking for like finances, patient images, charting, etc.

### "Destroying our practices efficiency"

For years we loved that the software was user friendly, efficient and updated on a regular schedule.

Cons

We have been struggling with Dentrix, since G7.4 update, for the last year, we've been ready to throw our CPU in the highway and run over it as of lately. For the last month we have been working with support and have accomplished NOTHING. Our software is slower than ever. It take 20-30 seconds to bring a patients chart up, 30 seconds for tx plans to appear on monitor, the circle of death and (not responding) is constantly what we are dealing with as clinicians. This is no way to run multimillion dollar practices! This software may be for the little offices but not the big producers....
