### "A Convenient, User-Friendly Tool for HTML Templates"

November 5, 2025

4.0

Overall, Dreamweaver has been a reliable and convenient tool for my workflow. The split view between code and visual layout is invaluable, especially when building or refining HTML emails. The interface is user-friendly and intuitive.

Pros

I primarily use Adobe Dreamweaver to create HTML templates and email signatures, and I appreciate having a visual preview right next to the code. It makes it much easier to spot issues, adjust layout, and work more efficiently.

Cons

Some features may feel somewhat outdated compared to modern web-building tools. It also has more functionality than I really need for simple template work.

### "Dreamweaver: A Good Place to Start"

January 13, 2022

4.0

Dreamweaver allowed me to deploy sites quickly in the early 00's while learning more complex coding skills.

Pros

Dreamweaver is a perfect place for beginners to literally see how CSS and HTML editing affects a webpage. The Live Edit view is amazing, and you can have a pane of code open on the left, and see your website change on the right. Dreamweaver was key in launching my web design career. The automatic FTP-updating is excellent too.

Cons

However, the application is quite bloated and heavy, and was slow to keep up with advances in CSS editing over the last 15 years. Again, if you have Adobe CC and you want to start coding, give this a try. I have since moved on to Sublime Text for web coding/editing.

Alternatives considered

[HTML Editor](https://www.capterra.com/p/152212/HTML-Editor/)

Reason for choosing Adobe Dreamweaver

A clean, clear interface. And the first app to ever allow live previews of your web code.

### "Interactive Art and Simple Sites"

April 29, 2026

4.0

Pros

Dreamweaver is helpful for those who aren’t experienced with coding but still want to experiment with interaction. It’s fairly easy to navigate and build.

Cons

I had a subscription to Dreamweaver included in my professional account, so the cost was less of an issue, however if I would’ve paid full price I don’t think the value would’ve been great. It’s a helpful tool for art websites and interactive projects, but less technically useful for making professional sites.

### "Limited, limiting, and buggy as could be."

June 28, 2023

2.0

Between the highway robbery pricing model and the bugs and issues, I don't recommend this program to anyone. It's more trouble and expense than it's worth.

Pros

I've been a Dreamweaver user since the Macromedia days, more than 20 years now. The convenience of being able to find your place in the code with just a click is hard to beat. That's the end of the list of pros.

Cons

With each version of the program the quality drops. I noted that another reviewer said to works smoothly across all platforms. This is not at all true. The program on Mac is so bad that I now just use Notepad for simple things, because I won't have to struggle with Notepad. Dreamweaver is less buggy on Windows, but after all these years you'd think they'd have worked out the kinks. Support for webp, which was introduced in 2010, is still non-existent. The program will display webp images, but will not allow you to choose them from the file list because it doesn't actually recognize them as an image file. It's slow, and the cache is a constant issue that has to be addressed.

### "Great software if you are already invested in the Adobe Creative Cloud way of working"

August 24, 2023

5.0

I use it to build fairly simple brochure sites because working with large sites can slow the the app down a lot. Overall, I find it more useful than not, but it's a case of choosing the best app for the site I want to design and develop.

Pros

It integrates well with the rest of the Creative Cloud apps.

Cons

The UI. It's so crowded and creates a steeper learning curve than it needs to be.

Alternatives considered

Reason for choosing Adobe Dreamweaver

I use both. If I want to create a quick Bootstrap site, Dreamweaver is a great starting point, in my experience.

### "Adobe Dreamweaver Review"

December 16, 2021

5.0

I was able to successfully build my first stable site with the app despite being an a mature at Htlm. The there interfaces (live, design and code view) makes Adobe Dreamweaver the ideal product.

Pros

Unlike other products in line, you are able to work off with your html edit, the API is so user friendly and more so easy for all code beginners. I say it's the most effective software for a mature site builders.

Cons

Switching from design mode to code seems alittle out of line for tables.

### "Great visual editor for web and much more."

April 7, 2025

4.0

I have used Dreamwever for web, email and display banners and it does everything I need and more. I have moved away to simpler text editor for coding now as I dont feel I need everything Dreamweaver offers. But it is a great programme and offers a lot.

Pros

Dreamweaver is a multi-functional programme that can be used for coding and designing for web with a visual-based design option.

Cons

It is overloaded with windows and options which can be a bit overwhelming if you just need a simple code based editor for coding emails. The code is also overcomplicated as it adds different parts when using the visual editor.

### "A Helpful Tool for Creating Websites"

December 11, 2025

5.0

Overall, I’ve had a great experience using Dreamweaver. It’s a solid tool for building and updating websites, and the live preview and flexible editing options have made my projects easier and more efficient.

Pros

What I like most about Dreamweaver is how it lets me build and edit websites without feeling overwhelmed. I really like that I can switch between code view and design view, so I can see exactly what I’m creating in real time. It also helps catch mistakes and makes organizing my files easier, which saves a lot of time.

Cons

One thing I don’t love about Dreamweaver is that it can feel a bit outdated compared to newer web editors. It can also be kind of heavy on your computer, and some features are a little confusing if you don’t use them often.

### "Adobe Dreamweaver must be revamped."

February 16, 2025

4.0

I use it for less complex tasks and therefore, I do not overwork myself so I feel comfortable using it.

Pros

Visual & Code Editing: Combines a WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) interface with a powerful code editor. Good for Beginners & Intermediate Users: Offers templates and live preview features to simplify web design. Supports Multiple Languages: Works with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, and more. Integration with Adobe Products: Seamless workflow with Photoshop, Illustrator, and other Adobe tools. Responsive Design Features: Helps create mobile-friendly websites.

Cons

Expensive: Requires an Adobe subscription, which might not be worth it compared to free alternatives like VS Code or Brackets. Not Ideal for Advanced Developers. Can Feel Outdated.

### "Dreamweaver is a web designers dream"

November 28, 2025

4.0

I am pleased with the overall value for money and the customer support is excellent. The team is always willing to help and there is a large resource bank.

Pros

Adobe Dreamweaver has advanced web design capabilities that allow you to integrate templates and other page layout features. It's ease of use makes it a useful tool for new and advanced web creation.

Cons

Adobe Dreamweaver has some significant learning curves - but once you understand the overall features it is easy to navigate. Knowledge of CMS and HTML is a plus.

### "Learning the Basics of Web Pages"

March 6, 2025

5.0

While the older models of Dreamweaver required heavy knowledge of manual coding, the current edition allows you to use the Design view to show a visual representation of a web page that can be edited. It solves the complex problem of learning HTML coding from scratch.

Pros

My favorite features about Dreamweaver are the visual interface, code editor, and the real-time preview. The learning curve is nice for beginners.

Cons

Browser compatibility issues. Even with the real-time preview, there are a lot of glitches and formatting problems that aren't ideal for older computer models. You have to rely on making web pages that cater to the large majority.

### "Easy to use HTML Editor"

June 9, 2022

4.0

Overall, I do like Dreamweaver for what it does. It's handy and gives you a quick visual of your coding and if any changes need to be made.

Pros

I like the split screen of having half source code and the other half the visual design. That allows me to quickly see the changes I make and whether or not they work for what I am trying to accomplish or not.

Cons

I would like to see in the Design view the ability to see both a browser version of the page and a mobile version of the page from within the same view. Sometimes these don't display the same and making a change can cause one to look right and the other not. Having it on one screen would be useful.

### "It's result-driven but requires time and efforts to use it"

November 3, 2023

5.0

It's a great tool for web development, however, it requires time and dedication to learn and it can be quite expensive too which makes it a little hard for users with low budgets to buy.

Pros

Adobe Dreamweaver offers industry-standard designs for projects of all levels. I like it and would recommend it because it's from a popular company. Although I switched from using it for some reasons, however, there are features that I highly appreciate and respect as well. - Its code editor is fully versatile. It supports a wide array of programming languages like HTML, CSS, and Javascript which provide possibilities to perform tasks like syntax highlighting, code completion, and code validation which are super helpful when working on specific projects. - It also offers a wide range of built-in templates and libraries that help to speed up the process of web development. - Design is responsive because it provides options to test designs on various screen sizes.

Cons

Some major challenges I had with Adobe Dreamweaver include: - ease-of-use: although Dreamweaver can be very performant, however, it's not easy to learn and master. It requires a lot of dedication commitment and practice to get acquainted with it. So I did;t find it ideal because I needed a tool that I could learn and probably start earning from within a short time. - Subscription is expensive

### "For good reason, Dreamweaver is a key participant in the WYSIWYG web editor market."

October 21, 2022

5.0

With the use of Adobe Dreamweaver, I assist businesses in building their ideal websites. Real-time work completion is beneficial to me.

Pros

Adobe Dreamweaver is a quick and adaptable website design program that also contains all the features needed for web coding. Wonderful features of Dreamweaver include the Live View Editing Mode, which displays the coding result in Real-Time.I adore being able to alter the perspectives. It's convenient to be able to click on the page and see the split code view appear below it. When you first start out, the drag-and-drop tool definitely comes in helpful. It also lets us view our webpage as we make changes. Another excellent feature is the ability to make transitions and have total control over each and every little aspect.

Cons

Although I frequently use it and find it useful, I believe it should have a code error finder option, which is a fairly fundamental feature in other tools of a similar kind.

### "Adobe dreamweaver Review"

September 4, 2021

4.0

It was the first software I used to learn website design. I currently do not use it anymore a there are tons of better web builders available today that don't even cost a penny. Still a good software if you want to learn a bot of coding and seeing how things work but it really isn't practical for me in today's world.

Pros

It is a powerful website builder if you have to time to learn it You don't really need to know a lot of coding to use but having an idea of coding can be useful It can help youprove on your coding as it will tell you when you make a mistake immediately

Cons

It is not always responsive enough for different platforms and browsers. Not easy to learn and adapt to. You need time and lots of practice to get used to the interface and most of its functions. Adds a ton of codes to your paragraphs that you really do not need. This affects the site you make at the end of the day when you test on different browsers.

### "DreamWeaver and Adobe product user for 15 years"

November 9, 2021

5.0

Fast... Easy.... Quick learning curve

Pros

I started out in the business I'm in using DW Flash and Ps.... At the time i had no experience and no idea what i was doing. DreamWeaver then and now was easy for me to pick up and just use. Which is a primary reason i was a Master Suite user for years before the CC changes..

Cons

If anything about adobe is an issue its the price.... However i realize value from this every day and though price is an issue it is not a deal breaker

### "Better and cheaper options out there"

June 30, 2022

4.0

I use Adobe Dreamweaver sparingly when working on some older websites that I developed a while back. It’s built-in ability to work over FTP is on the main reasons I still use it.

Pros

Dreamweaver is very stable as it’s been around for a long time and has the backing of Adobe.

Cons

It’s been around a long time and could use some modernizing and feature bloat removed.

Cons

I don't have an area that I dislike with Dreamweaver.

### "Dreamweaver: Dream or Nightmare?"

January 29, 2024

5.0

As a graphic designer, design comes first. I am not a strong coder, so find myself searching online quite often for help. Fortunately, help is usually easy to find.

Pros

Allows user to design and code and easily switch between the two. The different views allow the user to see what the site will look like once completed.

Cons

If the user is not familiar with coding and website building, then Dreamweaver can be a nightmare to use. For users wanting a quick and easy site, Dreamweaver is not a good choice.

Reason for choosing Adobe Dreamweaver

Dreamweaver came as part of the suite from Adobe, and I was already a user.

I've used Dreamweaver for nearly 20 years, back to Macromedia: it's the best overall software for building websites. I've recently upgraded after 12(!) years, and it's great to see things like Bootstrap supported.

Cons

Pros

Dreamweaver is nice there is many options that we can use all the time and they are actually useful. With Dreamweaver we can develop websites much more fun than other IDE's.

Cons

### "Adobe Dreamweaver User"

February 17, 2022

4.0

It is a nice option within the Adobe family. I am not a coder so this comes in handy for people like me. You can design it visually and then see the code on the back end. I don't use it as much since Word Press and a lot of the template are providing more option but this product give me customizations I need.

Pros

I like that it is included in Adobe Creative Cloud. It will also sync and update with the rest of my apps. I use Word Press for my websites but this is a great addition if I need custom code or something that Word Press is unable to provide in the template theme.

Cons

It is not intuitive. But I would say not all Adobe products are intuitive. I had to watch videos and ask for help but once I got it, it has been great.

I first started building sites with Adobe dream weaver and it made quite easy for me to modify prebuilt HTML website templates and customize them into what my clients wanted

Pros

Predictive text, spell checks, automatic code error checking, a very good user interface and the Intuitive interface

Cons

I can frankly say that it's gotten more expensive to purchase and also that it does not have a web based version, meaning you need proper resources to run it effectively
