July 9, 2024 5.0 Pros I love how Hoxhunt gamifies the concept of phishing scams. It helps keep users aware of scams and does a great job showing users with only similar scores as you. I don't know all of the employees working at my company, but when I do see someone I know around my score, I screenshot it and send it to them. It makes for a good laugh and friendly competition in the workplace. We have even had moments in staff meetings laughing about how someone once again was excited to get an email, but ended up being hoxhunted. Cons I don't have complaints about Hoxhunt. I have submitted feedback on aspects I would like to see differently, and the company actually has changed the aspects I wasn't a big fan of. So at this moment and time, I just enjoy using Hoxhunt. Pros Hoxhunt is a perfect security awareness increasing tool, sending users authentic-looking, but phishing emails, which require immediate actions. The most complicated thing is that emails content can be quite closer to your current situation (e.g. you will have a business trip in couple of days and suddenly receive hotel's cancellation, which was booked for you). So it's not that simple to correctly distinct what is true. Cons Sometimes it can be so "real", so your blood pressure rises. It works for me and I am satisfied. I can see the progress in recognizing potential threats and I can't get bored with it. Thank you! Pros It's simple, engaging, real, regular and very user-friendly. I like the game-like graphics and very clear explanations of why such email is a scam. Cons There is nothing I dislike about Hoxhunt... maybe the holiday mode is not always working properly (and it's important because you can easily loose points if you get a hoxhunt being out of office). Something new across the boring work inbox. Starting from the "usual" training phishing and scam emails - you can report them via hoxhunt and also get a micro (but useful) explanation about what have you just reported. Later - "spicy mode" - sometimes really believable and hard to detect. Also the gamification aspect is surprisingly fun. By reporting and completing micro trainings you unlock achievements and upgrade your "shield". It's a first time I saw such mandatory thing be quite enjoyable. Pros response time is excellent, When, not sure, you can still click on the Hox tab, they will respond, whether it's a positive hit & advise what you need to do. awards are given to encourage you to be alert of unwanted & dangerous emails, that could have an impact on the business information. May 31, 2024 5.0 It is a daily reminder that it is easy to get complacent and open the wrong email. This program reminds me to look closely at the sender and content before progressing further. Pros The system send out test emails to keep you on your toes. It can also work with emails you detect and secure them until the review of their being legitimate people/companies with out fear of being hacked or possible scammed. The feature I found most attractive is the simulated spam emails and how we get points when we identify and report the emails. It feels like I am playing a game but actually I am getting educated at the same time i get a sense of achievement when I unlock more and more levels. Cons I recently reported an actual spam email. The initial response was the status was unsure. I was told I might not get the result of that reporting but your team will do everything in the background. I was unsatisfied with it. The program has been extremely relevant to today's world of threats in the cyber world and the program was tailored very well to my company's needs. Pros Hoxhunt is very user-friendly and helps to show the employees how to catch emails that look like regular emails but that are scam emails. They fabricate very good emails from internal users that will trick even the best employees to make sure everyone is always on their toes when opening emails with company resources. Cons I did not have any complaints. I take cyber security very seriously and have felt all throughout the use of Hoxhunt that the exercises, lessons and trainings have been very useful. At first I thought it would be another chore and would add time; however, I quickly realized that learning in a gamified way was not only very fun, but also a great way to learn and remain very vigil with my emails. I made some mistakes at first (i.e. clicked on phishing emails from Hoxhunt) but have noticed my skills grow quickly over time. The gamified experience also creates a great social element at work as we'll say "did you get fooled by that Hoxhunt email too?". They also recently added a Spicy mode which increases the intensity of the emails you receive for a greater challenge. I find the experience very fun - I like the competition and social aspect and have learned a lot. And most importantly, it's really been great for our company in avoiding phishing incidents. Pros I love that you receive actual emails in your inbox that look real. There's really no better way to learn about security that through real simulations. Plus, Hoxhunt makes the experience of learning about security fun! It's actually enjoyable to be able to detect when emails are actually Hoxhunt emails and fun to compete with coworkers to climb up the leaderboard Cons I wish there was a way to more easily review what you've learned on a reoccuring basis as well as more visibility on the employees who collected the most points each quarter. Money lost if an attack occurs is substantial for a company of our size. Pros The software makes you aware of how easy it can be for a hacker to access your system if you're not careful. It teaches you what to look for when you receive a suspicious email so that you don't compromise your companies system by inadvertently clicking on a link. I like how the training emails are disguised as real emails (very sneaky). They keep you alert to potential attacks. Cons No cons that I can see. There have been a few emails which were so realistic that I clicked on the links only to be alerted to the fact that it was a training email (like I said above, very sneaky). Those make me a feel a little discourage that I was fooled into believing that it was real. But at the same time, those are a great opportunity to learn and can be a real eyeopener. The good thing about this is that you not only learn about the attack itself, but also how to prepare for the attacks. Pros Hoxhunt offers training, knowledge bases, customisation, great UI and design, all kept simple and easy to use. It is also relatively easy to implement. The customer support is also helpful as you can also submit feature requests. I use Hoxhunt about 2 times a day because of the email training and sometimes because of the built-in training within Hoxhunt. All in all, it is a learning tool that is very easy to integrate because of all the features mentioned above. Cons Nothing in particular, maybe the leaderboard needs an overhaul, its a bit confusing. The way Hoxhunt gamifies this approach is just awesome and can be done everywhere at anytime. The invested time of 2-3 minutes per phishing test is much more acceptable than a 60 minute long training where focus easily shifts away. Pros It is easy to use, their phishing tests are seriously good and make users aware of how easy it is to fall for a mail that has basically copied the original. Always reviews the most important signals to look for, great overall training! Pros Instant feedback when a test message is either detected or followed by a user. I was trapped once but thankfully it was a linkedin related message I opened on a phone. BUSTED! Sends periodic realistic scam-type emails to see if you're paying attention. Quickly evaluates real spam and scam messages that you click the Hoxhunt button for in Outlook. Works seamlessly. Keeps track of your progress with an overall armor rating that people around you easily see when you get a message. Also people actively talk about catching test messages now keeping security on our minds between annual trainings or corporate reminders. Cons Doesn't seem to do much about spam emails. Pros There is a good mix of tests and information on what to do/not to do. Great leaderboard to see where you are with your peers and across the other businesses. Cons If you're on leave and miss a threat email it seems as though you have missed it because of not noticing the threat and counts against you. The timing of the simulated threat emails are also random so you cannot really find a pattern or predict when one is coming. It will definitely raise awareness in users what to look out for.. (Disclaimer: My review/opinion of this product is solely my own and does not represent the views/opinion of the company I work for) Pros I really like how the software mimics real life techniques of attack and reinforcing the learning by presenting microtraining materials. The gamification (earning shields and badges) also adds to the interest to look out for this simulated threats. When you also flagged an actual threat, there is an option to send it for further analysis. Cons Nothing much to complain aside from the duration you need to act on a simulated threat.
