Adobe has great software for designers. Pros Great software, I like the automatic numbering of pages for books, programs, etc. I love how you can drag drop from other adobe softwares. You can set up master style sheets for headlines, body text, subheads, etc, so everything with match exactly. I highly recommend this to anyone. Cons You cannot draw in it. I wish they would bring some features from Illustrator into InDesign so you can draw more. Wish I could make printer pdf spreads from pdfs like you used to be able to do directly in the software. Altri software, come ad esempio pubblisher risultano instabili con grandi pubblicazioni e sono molto lenti. Pros Indesign è un software estremamente completo, ben integrato con altre app di grafica dell'ecosistema Adobe, è snello e potente. Cons Ritengo che il prezzo non sia alla portata di molti e la gestione dei colori risulta essere ancora un po' difettosa nonostante le continue calibrazioni. Pros Indesign is a bit of a 'jack-of-all-trades'. You can create anything from print to digital and social. There are so many features to use, and more are always being added. It is an essential item in any designer's toolkit. Cons InDesign does require training to use - study a lot of videos online, or better yet, if you know someone who uses it, get them to give you a run-through. March 16, 2025 5.0 I use Indesign daily and I think it is great for designing any print material. Using styles for text and paragraphs, means you can work fast and make edits to full documents quickly and easily. The grid layouts means you can keep everything aligned properly and keep your looking profesional. Pros Easy-to-use design software for setting up booklets, 48 sheets and any other printed material. Great for setting up grid systems, and also styles for text and paragraphs. It works well with all the other adobe software and makes designing print easy and stress free. Cons Some of the design features from illustrator would be useful to be able to use in indesign. Even for a quick sketch, I turn to Indesign to do the layout and print out a concept for meetings with C level execs. Pros As this product has developed, you can tell the development team is listening to the average end-user. The controls are becoming more intuitive. This has helped me increase my productivity and complete projects in a timely manner. Cons The overall cost was initially (as part of CC) felt a little steep. It is my go-to software for layout of magazines, catalogs, brochures, etc. It easily integrates with other Adobe software (such as Illustrator and Photoshop), as it is simple to place graphics created in other programs into the layout in InDesign. InDesign is very intuitive when it comes to formatting text. It allows for flexibility to manipulate the layout to exactly what you envision. Objects and designs are created are versatile and increase high resolution which allows for high quality print designs. The user interface has a learning curve but once learned, it is very comprehensive. Cons The user interface can feel a little clunky at times on smaller screens or on a laptop screen. Cons It does not offer many options for simple photo editing, nor does it offer many vector editing options, so for any minor touch-ups you will need to use other software. You have to invest a decent amount of time in the learning process but it could not be more worth it. Pros Perfect for creating original internal and external company communications, especially thought leadership articles, 1-pagers, etc. The level of customization lends to high-quality branded items. Cons Images placed can lose their quality during the design process and the export process. A lot of this can be fixed with specific export settings, however, sometimes I need to restart the program to get the images to export/appear clearly. This could be a bug. This software would be perfect if the images weren't a headache to handle. Pros I love that no matter how many pages and how heavily I load ID with graphics and images, the final PDF export is super light. Whatever compression works with InDesign, that is epic. The layout features and possibilities are incredible and make this a contender amongst similar apps even within the Adobe family. Cons The most annoying thing about InDesign is the way it handles images in the editing process. There has to be a more intuitive way of adding and editing images. Drag and drop is good but when i have to adjust the image on 2 fronts, first the actual image and then the bounding box, it slows me down in image intensive designs. Review Source RA Rama A.
