### "From portfolios to 100 page catalogs, InDesign is capable of that"

January 7, 2024

5.0

I've used Adobe In-design for the first time back in 2017, i created my first portfolio for my design business, and that's when all the doors opened, i've used InDesign since then for all of my top clients, from company profiles to product catalogs, i've done it all and it always had my back. i recommend it for everyone who wants to create anything for digital publishing and offline brochures, catalogs, product base, online and offline portfolios, and magazines

Pros

I usually use it for catalog design and portfolios and company profiles, it certainly have the best features, easy to use most of the time, exporting is pretty fast, the fact that you can add multiples layers of complex designs and even edit your previous PDF's.

Cons

Sometimes the app crashes out of the sudden, but that's about it, and i wish there was more templates to use.

### "I use InDesign on a daily basis"

May 9, 2024

5.0

I use InDesign almost every single day of the week. Have been very happy with all of it and InDesign help is very good at helping me to solve and learn new avenues of creating.

Pros

I love Adobe InDesign and honestly don't know where I would be without it. I love being able to seamlessly import and export with other Adobe products and also being able to create just what I need

Cons

Nothing to report on this. Love InDesign.

### "The standard for layout designing and publishing"

May 30, 2023

3.0

I love InDesign, I've been using it almost all my life. But it as time goes by it is becoming more and more outdated. Although there are new softwares more capable in many areas I'm not switching because InDesign it's the standard

Pros

It is the most complete software for publishing and layout designing. Once you are used to it, it is capable almost of everything. There are many feature to automate repetitive task which are super convenient.

Cons

It is becoming outdated. I find annoying the fact that you cannot open a document generated with a newer version of InDesign. Launching it is super slow even though it is not a demanding resources program. There are not many tools for digital publish layouts, and the ones that it has are outdated.

### "The most versatile and the most feature rich DTP application - but do you really need all that"

March 20, 2022

5.0

Never, never had any problem or issue. All job done with the perfect precision.

Pros

Adobe inDesign is professional standard - must have application if you work in DTP industry. Even you dont make final prepress in inDesign, you have to have one working place with inDesign, because most of clients will send their creations in inDesign .indd format. And, there are no job or task you cannot complete with inDesign.

Cons

inDesign as solo application is not solution for business. You need additional photo and vector drawing tools, and then we come to Adobe Suite... and we then come to subscription ... and prices ... and ... there are no cheap way to runaway from Adobe ecosystem anytime in future.

### "Adobe InDesign helps our design team run efficiently! "

January 11, 2023

5.0

Pros

I honestly do not want to imagine producing the print and digital marketing collateral that we do without InDesign. The tool provides a myriad of customization options, enables easy linking to images and other assets, and offers an ease in exporting materials for printing or posting purposes. We can create an entire campaign's worth of deliverables leveraging this tool in collaboration with Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator. Magnetic guides can be enabled to snap objects and frames into place in an artboard. Panels can be customized into selected windows and tools much like other Adobe apps to provide a familiar and custom workspace—and different workspaces can be established for different purposes (digital publishing, interactive PDFs, review, etc.). Additional tools provide Adobe PDF and other presets for quick file export.

Cons

As with many Adobe tools, there is a learning curve for InDesign, especially when it comes to producing printed work. We had one of our team members who was familiar with Adobe Premier and Adobe Illustrator get started in Adobe InDesign to support the development of a 126-page digital publication, and it took a few video tutorials along with support/training provided by our art director to get them started with the project. If a designer is learning this tool, I recommend considering video onboarding in the project timeline—Adobe does offer a wide variety of Getting Started tutorials and support tools to explore. When I got started with this program, I took a trimester-long college-level course to make sure I could use the tool well. While we have a lead designer determined for each project or campaign, we often collaborate in order to distribute the workload effectively among us. Adobe Indesign is not conducive to more than one user making changes to the file, and one must be very careful in checking for errors before saving the file for another designer to use. Of course, the pains that often come with sharing files like this can be eased with an established brand guideline that provides the fonts, links, and other assets required.

### "Still Worth Every Penny"

October 26, 2023

5.0

I am more than happy with Adobe InDesign. I love that Adobe is constantly innovating, which makes me feel content with the subscription model. For a few years I had been more comfortable with the idea of purchasing actual software (back when it came in a physical box!), but the hassle of having to buy new software every couple of years got old. In this technology age, we as professional designers have to stay on top of innovations, and Adobe keeps the tools updated so I can in turn innovate in my creative field.

Pros

I have been using InDesign on a daily basis ever since Adobe donated software to my student-run college newspaper in 1999. That donation opened the door to exploring a world of print layout that I never knew existed, and eventually led to a career in graphic design. InDesign is the main tool in my tool belt, and without it I would have a different occupation altogether. Some people like to complain about the price point, but when you consider a) the value it provides creatives as a tool b) the innovation required by Adobe over decades to produce and constantly refine the software, and c) the lack of a comparatively robust or functional alternative for the design professional, it's a wonder that it's as cheap as it is.

Cons

I wish InDesign had a chart-making tool. Illustrator has one, but it is in dire need of updating.

### "An Underrated Software That's the Real Money Maker"

April 6, 2022

5.0

For me, Indesign is a life-changing software that has enabled me to reach not only my goals but my dreams of publishing a full-blown magazine. I have sent over 2 million files to print, every one of them created in Indesign. It's my bread and butter.

Pros

Photoshop gets all the attention but Indesign is the unsung hero of the print design world. It doesn't get the viral tutorials or talked about much but it's the real money maker in my opinion. I have mastered this software and with every job I get, it becomes the backbone. Assembling complex PDFs for online distribution or creating magazines or even large format print documents. I simply love Indesign. The recent round of updates is amazing and really improves the overall experience. I have always loved how it perfectly balances complexity and simplicity. It's my babe. All the other designers come to me for Indesign needs because they skipped over it. A shame, but I don't mind as it keeps the money coming in.

Cons

I can't find a complaint. The only issue was how small the interface was, has now been corrected in this last update.

Switched from

[CorelDRAW](https://www.capterra.com/p/124823/CorelDRAW/)

Corel constantly crashed and froze up. It's limited and archaic. I used to think Indesign was some distant elite program. But once I made the switch, it took about an hour and I never looked back. Sorry, Corel... Thanks for some good (and very frustrating) years. But Indesign is the real deal.

### "A great tool for experienced designers to create beautiful, highly custom print or digital documents"

March 8, 2022

4.0

Generally, I enjoy working with this software. it allows me to work between Photoshop and Illustrator while using it in a seamless way, which is essential for my workflow when designing. It's feature rich and has more than everything you'd need to create exceptional designs for things such as: portfolios, information packages, pitch decks, business cards, and more.

Pros

I like that this program easily integrates with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator making importing of files exceptionally easy, even if the file is currently open in one of those other programs. I also love the simplicity of the drag and drop editor, the various views that show guides or print preview while working, the comprehensive keyboard shortcuts, and the straight forward PDF export process. I'd highly recommend this program to designers, but if you are a solopreneur without design experience looking for a graphic design solution that you can utilize yourself, I'd suggest Canva as the learning curve is less steep

Cons

I am completely frustrated that there is no way to allow the color picker to work like Photoshop's. Also, the color swatches should work as simply and easily as they do in Photoshop as well. Instead they are complex and not the least bit intuitive.

### "Adobe InDesign: An industry standard, for so many reasons"

June 29, 2022

5.0

I literally couldn't function as a business owner without it. Even the 'cons' I listed are not critical. I often start and end my projects in InDesign, even if Photoshop and Illustrator are a part of the process. Highly recommended for those looking for an industry best practice!

Pros

I primarily use this product for page layout. From brochures to booklets to single page flyers. I've even started using it recently to create vector art. This latter use case shows how InDesign has evolved over the years to further integrate with other Adobe products. InDesign is also very user friendly and allows me to seamlessly make edits to documents on the fly and turn around new drafts for clients within minutes.

Cons

This is not so much an InDesign-specific issue. Rather, an Adobe products issue. I continue to struggle with the fact that Adobe organizes tools, filters, etc. differently between each of the primary programs (Illustrator; InDesign; Photoshop). It makes sense that each software has its own unique tool set. But for the tools where there is apples-to-apples crossover, it would be helpful if they could be found within the same navigation dropdown.

### "Beste text en print document bewerker in de design industrie."

May 19, 2023

5.0

### "Very high functionalities for page setups"

May 11, 2022

5.0

InDesign is my go-to program when it comes to creating or modifying a visual composition. I did my last product catalog with this program. It was a charm!

Pros

InDesign offers the ability to create a neat, high-quality document that can support many types of files at once. For example, if you have an image, text, shapes and some colouring, it will keep the vector aspect of the whole composition. Navigating through the menus is very clear and intuitive. Another key feature is the possibility to create 'styles' for text and paragraphs. This means that if a certain type of text needs to be repeated many types on the page, you can simply click on the style and it will automatically convert it to the registered setting. InDesign lets you create very detailed documents with a multitude of tools & options available.

Cons

It does require a monthly subscription that could be pricey to some. It also uses a lot of RAM out of your hard drive to operate the program.

### "InDesign is the Premiere Document Layout Tool"

November 12, 2021

5.0

I have been using InDesign for over fifteen years and have used it to successfully design everything from reports and infographics to album and novel covers. After learning it once, it remains intuitive and powerful--it is the only document layout tool I've used where I am able to create whatever design I can imagine. It has earned me plaudits for good design and clarity of communication. Above all, it has enhanced the professionalism of the materials I produce, always making the information contained therein clearer.

Pros

InDesign is the most powerful and fully featured document layout tool available. It provides flexible, easy to use layering that enables advanced overlays and far more complicated designs than are possible with a more traditional layout tool. What's more, with a wide variety of font types and masking tools, the sky is the limit for making professional looking documents. It is flexible enough to lay out everything from infographics to multi-column reports to covers and posters. Plus, it brings the power of the Adobe Suite through integrations with Photoshop, Illustrator, and more.

Cons

There are few features I've encountered that are missing for InDesign. That said, the learning curve for can be steep for someone who has no experience with design products, particularly those of the Adobe Suite. That said, Adobe provides ample learning resources so that users can get up to speed fairly quickly. InDesign integrated seamlessly into our report production workflow, so I fully recommend it.

### "Avaliação Indesign"

March 20, 2023

4.0

### "Perfect for Creating Digital Content"

June 15, 2022

5.0

As a graphic designer, I use Adobe InDesign daily and it gives me all the tools needed to create beautiful layouts. It's perfect for creating content like flyers, brochures, posters, newspapers, presentations, ebooks, and any files, whether they are digital or printable use.

Pros

I am a creator of digital files, mostly digital planners, and using Adobe Design has helped me a lot to speed up the creation process. It's one of the best multi-page design software. Large files with over 500 pages and over 1000 hyperlinks can be easily created using master pages, which further simplifies the whole process. As the paperless era begins to take hold, InDesign has followed up with a series of interactivity features that allows the production of digital books, magazines, invitations, or any other format. I have a lot of experience using InDesign for interactive documents, and it does offer some impressive features that allow me to create animated documents complete with audio and video.

Cons

I have no complaints about the software and how it works. I like to use InDesign, but maybe the only complaint would be that it has a monthly fee. I'd rather pay once.

### "Adobe InDesign - A software that caters to your design needs."

July 12, 2022

5.0

Once I got a hang of it, I started to really enjoy all its features from being able to collaborate, to adding in custom fonts and its variety of ready to use templates. I do hope that in the near future Adobe InDesign does add in some training so people that aren't accustomed to this type of software are able to catch on a lot faster making it much more user friendly.

Pros

I enjoy how I can easily make changes to all my files in the format of my choosing. It also saves me time by being able to collaborate with stakeholders all from one app. I like how when editing images it integrates with other Adobe software so I can quickly switch between them.

Cons

In the beginning, it is very difficult to use. I would like a few tutorials added in or mini interactive training videos just to help get used to the software.

### "Short Learning curve - A must have for text-based content creation."

November 3, 2023

5.0

Coming from using photoshop for creating designs for flyers and brochures - company profiles ect... and this has been an absolute eye-opener. Now I feel like i know what the pros do. I can edit elaborate,(and readable, text-heavy + image-rich content with huge page-counts without creating monstrously big file-size. - nothing can convert into pdf as efficiently as Adobe InDesign. I have found myself almost fully ditching Photoshop, Microsoft Word and others for weeks at a time because editing here feels effortless for me (someone that loves beautifully designed and thought out documents) . The only big gripe for me is that InDesign isn't very well adopted by my collogues... so when they need to edit a file that i made - they cant easily open it like they would an MS Word document.

Pros

IT just works! - it looks like a photoshop-ey interface, but the user experience is more fitting to Designers/Nothing else seems to convert my elaborate book designs filled with HD images into PDFs with the level of optimization like InDesign does.It feels like a proper design tool but with a built-in word processor. A perfect middleground between Design and Word functionality. Its an Adobe product so it gets updated often! and now with those nifty Ai tools that automagically makes your work alot easier!

Cons

Its an Adobe product so its probably on the expensive end for a non-pro user.Coming from Photoshop - I had to rethink the way i designed and that was a small but noticeable learning curve.Lacks some of the granular functionality of Microsoft Word to be considered a possible competitor for word processing.

### "InDesign is the best way to create beautiful presentations"

April 25, 2022

4.0

InDesign helps our company produce stunning presentations which make use of InDesign's ability to combine a whole range of visual outputs from different programs into one unified platform. It is highly adaptable for different purposes and always produces great results.

Pros

This software has been my go to for presentations for nearly 10 years. Vastly superior to PowerPoint in its ability to import, customise and maintain the highest quality of export with the most control. InDesign provides the platform to combine all the content produced across the Adobe suite and beyond into a unified, well structured presentation.

Cons

### "Adobe InDesign: your ace in the hole for your layouts"

January 14, 2023

5.0

Overall it is the best page layout program in existence: convenient, practical, with any functionality and ability to add hyperlinks and videos, so exporting interactive formats, it is super!

Pros

Especially in case you are a designer, art director or graphic designer: you can't be unfamiliar with Adobe Indesign. With him all your publishing projects can come to life; you can typeset, books, brochures, business cards, in short anything that can be printable, but not only that! Also formats for digital, so you can work in both RGB and CMYK on any format on want and with any file to be integrated within it: png, jpg, psd, whatever!

Cons

Sometimes, like all Adobe programs, it might shut down unexpectedly because it takes up so much space with RAM it sometimes crashes, it happens infrequently, but when it does you can not worry most of the time because the program always saves a recovered file from your last job.

### "Adobe Indesign Software Review"

September 29, 2022

4.0

Pros

The first stage of your website design is to set up a simple skeleton – something that is ‘structurally sound’ and doesn’t require too much work. You should then test this with colleagues and customers before the final design is completed. So how can you design a website that is going to be a success, that will get people to engage with it and, at the same time, keep you in business? This article contains some tips that can help you get the best out of your time in designing a website. It’s all in the software .The main difference between web design software and graphic design software is that the web design software has content-management tools and content-creation tools, such as photo editing software. Graphic design software, such as Photoshop, offers similar content creation tools but does not include any content-management tools. To work the best, most designers prefer to create websites in a tool where the elements (pictures, text and so on) can be put together in the order you want them to be seen on screen. Adobe InDesign, in particular, is well suited to this because it contains a range of built-in tools for laying out the different pages of the website (although web pages, in themselves, are really just files on the internet), including drag-and-drop, which is one of the most common methods of working. However, there are many other programs that offer similar functionality and it can often be a case of using the ‘right’ program for your work.

Cons

In Photoshop, you start with a blank canvas and create all the elements in the order you want them to appear. For a web design, Photoshop works best if you start with a template that already contains all the elements. There are also other programs that work in a similar way. Once you’ve got your website in the right shape (which can take a while) it’s time to add the final finishing touches. Web pages are often created with Flash (using programs like Flash Catalyst), but HTML (using InDesign) and XHTML (using an editor like Notepad) are the most common forms of web page creation. Flash is more commonly used to animate elements on websites, for example, when you have a picture of a car, which moves down a ramp as part of a scrolling screen. You can animate a lot of elements (such as moving text) using CSS, but if you have more than a few items to animate it is easier to create them using Flash or some other multimedia programme. If you’re working on a website that has complex formatting, such as ‘page-breaks’ or ‘margins’, then it’s best to work on this before adding the page layout so that you can avoid having to go back and make these changes if your design changes (and, let’s face it, sometimes designs do change). You can add these formatting tags using a program such as Dreamweaver, but it’s more efficient to add them after the page layout is complete.

### "Layout design made easy"

November 15, 2021

5.0

When it comes to multi-page layouts and designs, Adobe InDesign has tremendously improved my productivity. To come up with the greatest layouts for my designs, I can easily align text and develop different styles. When designing on a larger scale, InDesign definitely comes in handy. I also really like the guides and alignment options that InDesign has to offer.  While its shortcuts and user interface appear to be less intuitive than Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator, it is still an incredibly useful program that can be used in conjunction with other Adobe programs. I think it's a must-have for the majority of designers.

Pros

For me, InDesign has been quite beneficial with the work I do. It's arguably the Adobe product I use more than any other option.  When it comes to layouts, InDesign is far superior to Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator. The amount of guidelines and item snapping are two of Adobe InDesign's biggest strengths. When aligning text and photos, for example, all of the elements snap into place and effortlessly align with each other. InDesign also makes it simple to generate new spreads and pages, as well as rearrange them if the layout needs to be changed.  When I'm trying out different design possibilities on a spread and need to experiment with different widths and page orientations, InDesigns alternative layouts feature comes in handy.

Cons

InDesign accomplishes a lot of things effectively, but it has one major flaw: its shortcuts and features differ significantly from those of Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop. These inconsistencies irritate me because I have to continuously halt and consider which program I'm using. Anchor points with the pen tool in InDesign interact differently than anchor points in other Adobe programs. More uniformity between Adobe applications is something I'd like to see more of.

### "the best program for complex layouts"

August 11, 2022

5.0

Pros

What I like the most is the possibility to adapt your designs easily and above all the printing advisor, which allows you to print booklet type copies in a very easy way.

Cons

The only downside is the price of the license, but I think that for professionals who need to make complex compositions it is worth every penny.

I made the change because powerpoint was a bit too short for complex layouts and only allows exporting files in certain formats.

### "Modern Day "Old Timer" Layout Designing Software"

February 4, 2022

5.0

I'm using this software for years, and so far I can say there's no other software can comparatively match this one in this functionality, ease of use, and design-bank capabilities.

Pros

Adobe InDesign is not something new in layout designing, and recent updates are very valuable for everyone in this area. In short, I personally can say this is an "old-timer" software with modern day interface that can be easily operated, even for a beginner.

Cons

Online integration sometimes being a handicap for people that are living in areas with poor internet coverage.

Reason for choosing Adobe InDesign

This one is just simply the best

4.0
