### "InDesign - Printing efficiency defined?"

October 29, 2021

5.0

InDesign is outstanding. It saves so much time when you need to fit pages, trim pages, adjust designs, etc. Picture this: it's 10 pm, you need to have that magazine ready by 00:00, but the articles are still being reviewed. But if you have InDesign, you still have plenty of time. The designer can be working on the layout while editors are reviewing the content. And the program is so efficient that you're going to have the magazine done and ready to be printed by 11:59 pm.

Pros

InDesign is SO efficient. This software speeds up productivity so much that it can help you turn hours of adjusting the pages of any kind of publication you're trying to make: whether it's a bulletin, a magazine, a poster... to minutes! Plus, it has a really friendly user interface, which makes it a really comfortable software to use.

Cons

Although it's GUI is really friendly, it can be difficult for new users to start. Training (or qualified personnel) may be necessary. And, as it's another marvelous Adobe program, this software belongs to that really expensive group. Though it can easily compensate for that.

Before I started working here, they used Publisher, which was really basic and designs looked like they were from the 90s. InDesign helped us make more modern designs.

### "Great Software but not suitable for beginners"

July 20, 2022

5.0

When I first started using this product I found it a bit difficult to navigate through but as time went on I got to love it. Overall I think Adobe InDesign is a very useful and well laid out program. There are so many features to use to make an excellent end product. However, I think Adobe should make available with purchasing the program a short course to teach new users how to properly navigate the interface.

Pros

There are many tools available to create amazing products. I personally love how each tool has a keyboard shortcut that comes in very handy once you are familiar to the interface. InDesign provides loads of different fonts and is great for integrating graphics and images into all the projects that you are working on, example brochures, business cards, magazines etc. One of the cool features that I love about InDesign is the bleed feature, which ensures that your business cards or brochures do not end up with a white strip along the edge of your print work.

Cons

It is expensive when you do not use other adobe products and requires a monthly subscription. The program has many advanced features that require a lot of patience to learn your way around making it not user friendly for beginners. It also uses quite a bit of RAM to run this program and can take some time to load.

### "Adobe InDesign is professional page-layout software."

April 21, 2022

4.0

It's good software. Years ago, I really liked QuarkXPress, but

Pros

It does what I need it to do at a level acceptable for professionals. Adobe is adding newer functionality such as interactive publishing, etc.

Cons

It crashes. So. Much. What more can I say about this? Save your work!!

Reason for choosing Adobe InDesign

Inclusion in the CC suite.

### "Layout magazines & books so much easier"

January 21, 2022

5.0

Overall I am very comfortable using this, although at first, it was difficult to learn to understand this software. But as I worked on many tasks, I finally got used to it and there are so many amazing features of this software. My layout work is faster and easier because it is assisted by Adobe InDesign software

Pros

At first, I was confused about using this software, starting from the previous generation, namely Adobe Pagemaker. But since switching to InDesign it started to feel better. Because of the pressure factor for the need to serve layout jobs that take up a lot of pages, this software is very suitable for use. I got a lot of new experience from this software when I was still working at a publishing company, where I was introduced to various very useful features including Paragraph Style, Multiple Master Pages, Kerning, Leading, and how to export files to make the size lighter.

Cons

Because this software has many very advanced features, finally for most people, especially beginners, it is very difficult to adapt at the beginning. Many of the beginners gave up learning this software.

### "Simple to learn "

September 5, 2022

5.0

I use InDesign to make presentations regarding Architecture Projects. It gives me freedom and a lot of solutions to make annotating and designing easy.

Pros

This program is a good solution for those who want to do projects regarding layout designs. It is good because you can learn to use it very quickly, so you can make designs in an accurate, standardized and professional way. The integration between Adobe features is one of the best tools of this application.

Cons

Issues with resizing images and its container. Sometimes it is difficult makes the process slower.

### "InDesign is an industry standard"

March 27, 2024

5.0

I am still a user of InDesign and it has served me well for the last decade or two! Because of the cost factor, and competitors value, I will be forced to use Affinity from next month onwards :(

Pros

InDesign is a great desktop publishing tool that I would say is quite easy to learn and serves as an amazing tool for creating documents. The memory function is definitely handy, seems to recover quite accurately after crashes.

Cons

I think it's quite expensive. Our company has recently made the move to Affinity due to the cost factor. Would also be good to integrate with OpenAsset a bit better.

### "Il must dell'impaginazione"

April 7, 2023

5.0

### "Why should you use Adobe InDesign today ?"

April 25, 2022

5.0

I used it a year ago to print documents and some of my designs, as everyone advised me to use it for ease of handling.

Pros

One of the strongest and best features that Adobe InDesign has are the fonts, the amount of beauty in the forms of texts is indescribable, some of them use them in book covers, and some of them in designing images ,posters and interactive PDFs, so it is not without its use when it comes to texts. The beauty of the program is also that you can change and modify very quickly on your work, so you will save time for yourself. There is not much difference between Adobe InDesign and Adobe Photoshop in this area, but Adobe InDesign has tools, menus and features ready to create this type of designs more easily and more effectively, so time will be on your side. Ease of dealing with the program is an excellent point as I noticed that the new people who entered the design, they started in this program because it is easy to deal with unlike other programs. There is a free trial for 7 days, you can dive and explore the program, and it also works on Mac OS or Windows.

Cons

Editing in InDesign is more difficult. When formatting text, you notice that there is extra and sometimes missing space, it takes a little effort to balance it. The trial period in the past was 30 days, now it is 7 days, this does not give enough time to try it, because it is a bit expensive.

### "I can't imagine my life without it"

March 24, 2023

5.0

I have been using it for several years now and several improvements have been made over time, but the initial basis remains the same. From brochures, to catalogs, to the preparation of visual elements for the web, InDesign will always accompany you with mastery. One of the things I like the most are the frames, very quick to use and that no one (I don't understand why) doesn't try to imitate: I literally do everything with them and the drag and drop feature.

Pros

Software for the management of catalogs and brochures and so on, but also web based products. The different features that characterize it have made it a pillar of the publishing sector over the years. The various shortcuts that are part of the Adobe suite make it agile in every situation. I couldn't work without a tool like this.

Cons

In large files it stops and slows down, even with very powerful computers. A pity for a software that is supposed to handle quite large workflows like big catalogs.

### "InDesign for Marketing"

June 8, 2023

5.0

Pros

InDesign is an excellent design tool to use when working on long-format design. I use it daily for anything from long-format publication design to social media graphics and it easily adapts to help me work on anything in between.

Cons

Some of the features to expedite your work take some time to learn, I wish it was more intuitive to learn shortcuts.

### "Adobe InDesign in the Professional Services world"

October 16, 2023

5.0

Pros

I've been using Adobe Id for the last 10-15 years, focused on building books, reference manuals, and templated posters for our clients. What I like most about Id is the master pages, you can easily keep your pages consistent with margins, logos, text, and background colors. I am just now getting into the Interactive elements which look pretty cool and I can see some applications of how we might use it at our work.

Cons

You know, Id is a pretty robust tool for publishing printed and interactive web content. I would only say the links panel can get a little convoluted when you move folders and content around. Besides that I would highly recommend it.

### "InDesign is a Staple"

May 8, 2023

5.0

Very pleased with my overall experience with Adobe InDesign, I have made lots of projects including multiple books on it, and will continue to do so.

Pros

Once you learn the basics, it's super simple to use and integrate with the other Adobe applications. A staple that I have yet to find a program that comes close to its capabilities.

Cons

I suppose the least thing I like about it is that if your device isn't up to par with the graphics card and processing speed, it can take a while to load.

### "The Adobe product for editorial design"

May 19, 2022

5.0

Indesign has been useful for some editorial design I have made on my career.

Pros

Indesign is interesting because of leaning on editorial design and that makes it the best option among Adobe products, to edit pages for a book, compound the frames of a sheet, and a lot more.

Cons

Its features is limited to edition for frames and pages.

the overall experience is better, Indesign is a software that has been able to adapt to my desires, today I can create an ebook layout in a few clicks, so if I can't let my imagination grow, that's the limit of indesign.

Pros

Cons

### "A Presenter's Choice"

September 24, 2022

4.0

The program does work effectively and helps one present their designs is a suitable and structured manner to aid in looking professional.

Pros

The program makes developing, editing and presenting something a whole lot easier. It has all the features needed to accomplish whatever design project one may have in mind to a great extent.

Cons

Besides the price tag attached to using Adobe products and their learning curve, this program falls short when it comes to properly editing images and editing certain shapes. So it is a little restrictive given certain perimeters which forces you to use their other programs.

### "Take your Publication Design(book, news paper, brochure) to the next Level"

August 2, 2022

5.0

Overall I have benefited a lot working with Adobe InDesign on all my publication projects . Checking my imposition and keeping my design well organized.

Pros

The A master page which allows users to have control over all pages . Also, the software has a simple interface because of its similarity to the Adobe Illustrator or Adobe Photoshop. The most amazing thing is that after working, the user can package the project with all media and fonts. The ability to create a style sheet for text designs and many more to ensure consistency and save time.

Cons

There is nothing I really don't like about this software.

### "inDesign is an Essential"

August 29, 2023

5.0

I've been using it 10+ years, and it's still reliable for the things I need. It's the least intuitive of all of the Adobe Products, but I always go back to it when needed because of it's simplicity.

Pros

InDesign is great for layouts, and organizational design. I've been using it since high school when I was on the Yearbook staff lol. It's great to pass on to other people to use for templates and stuff too! It's easy for anyone to learn. It's like a step in between Microsoft Word and full-blown Photoshop or Illustrator

Cons

I wish there were a way to edit photos and stuff, but if it did that, then it would basically be Photoshop or Lightroom.

### "Some aspects uniquely InDesign and very good at that"

May 30, 2022

4.0

Not the best online collaboration but some aspects are very good

Pros

Our monthly newsletter requires weekly updating by team members capturing their respective activities and this requires some sort of online collaboration and editing. Adobe InDesign is a perfect tool for this as we have often used the track changes feature. This allows us to track each user with a predefined color which makes it easy to know what was edited and by whom. The color feature and role in track the changes enables us to do a follow on with the team member on changes made for clarification and enhancements.

Cons

Our biggest frustration with this kind of collaboration has been due to disappearing or unavailable fonts typekit which are unique to our document. This occurs often and very annoying.

### "Great software"

May 23, 2022

5.0

I am creating a huge number of graphics that are used online, and also on socials and for brochures and magazines too. My overall experience has been great.

Pros

It's very intuitive. I was self taught and it is all quite easy to use. There are good guides to help you still. Lot's of videos' online too. it's great for mocking things up quickly too.

Cons

I think the accessibility features need some work in order to be compliant with WCAG guidelines. sometimes what is described as an accessibility feature actually isn't and will just make it harder in the end.

### "The best of the best"

June 29, 2023

5.0

Pros

Adobe InDesign excels in professional layout and design, with robust typography and text control. It offers seamless integration with other Adobe Creative Cloud apps and provides efficient page management. Its versatility caters to both print and digital publishing, allowing for customization and automation. InDesign is a powerful tool, enabling the creation of visually appealing and well-structured designs.

Cons

n my experience, I found that Adobe InDesign has a steep learning curve, requiring time and effort to master. It can be resource-intensive, particularly when working with large documents. The subscription-based model might not be suitable for users on a tight budget. I also noticed that InDesign's vector editing capabilities are somewhat limited compared to dedicated software like Adobe Illustrator. Collaborating on projects can be challenging, and I encountered occasional software instability. However, despite these challenges, I acknowledge that InDesign remains a valuable design tool for many users.
