### "Le meilleur outils de publishing : Adobe indesign"

October 5, 2023

4.0

### "Adobe Indesign"

October 15, 2021

5.0

Overall I have always loved Indesign ever since it switched from Pagemaker to Indesign. It was one of the easiest transitions ever.

Pros

Indesign is probably the best layout software for a graphic designer to this date. It has great functionality for all designers in the graphic layout world.

Cons

I think the one thing that I have always thought they should integrate into InDesign is when it comes to facing pages. In the printing world when doing a Perfect bound or spiral bound book you need to have bleed on all 4 sides of the page so that you do not have to under trim a book. Truly every designer wants to layout a book in facing pages when they design. The problem with this when doing a spiral or perfect bound book is you do not get the correct bleed on the gutter. You end up with bleed from the next page which isn't what you want in this type of book. They need to make it so you select Perfect bound or spiral on facing pages and it allows you to select the amount of bleed you want in between and then an option to hide that bleed so you can visually see it like normal.

### "Adobe Indesign for Graphic Design"

November 8, 2022

4.0

Pros

Indesign is very systematical and logical. It is made to be used for prints, so it's easy to edit more texts at the same time and it holds pictures and all contents very nicely.

Cons

I really hated the CS6 version, but CC is much better. Maybe as I said, it's logical and I am not. For artist with not so fit light brain I sometimes have to google tutorials on how to make stuff work. But when it does, it's great.

### "The market leader, with all the love and disgust that that position generates"

June 23, 2022

5.0

We use InDesign as part of our publishing suite to create books and curricular components.

Pros

One of the most significant advantages of InDesign is its integration with the Creative Cloud suite. That relates to its biggest disadvantage: price (see below). But the ability to link to Illustrator or Photoshop files, and have those linked files update in InDesign when they're edited, is powerful. Even though crashes are actually not uncommon, the attention to detail with which the program is crafted gives the sense that this is a high-quality, thoughtful, and competent program. I love the layers of automation and workflow efficiency baked in, even though I don't use nearly all of them.

Cons

Biggest drawback: subscription pricing. It's worth it for work, probably, though I keep wondering if Serif's products aren't a good alternative. Also, Adobe interfaces can be clunky in general. I'm personally not a fan of the Touch interface that Adobe volunteers for my laptop.

### "An Industry Standard piece of software that stands well above any 'free' software"

April 26, 2023

5.0

I use ID to create publications, company documents for clients, social media images and many documents ready for print.

Pros

As part of the creative suite, it's just the right thing to use for setting, design and publications. There's really nothing to compare it to. Automatic updates are great and keeps the software moving forward

Cons

Nothing really. It does what it should all the time

Reason for choosing Adobe InDesign

First of all it was Pagemaker, then it mutated into InDesign... nearly all the commands were the same so the transition was easy - all those years ago!

### "Efficient and Professional Layout Design with Adobe InDesign"

May 4, 2023

5.0

Overall, my experience with Adobe InDesign has been very positive. This software offers advanced features and practical design tools that have allowed me to create professional and creative publications. While there is an initial learning curve, I highly recommend Adobe InDesign for anyone looking to improve their design and layout capabilities.

Pros

What I like most about Adobe InDesign is its ability to effectively and professionally manage large-scale projects. Layout tools such as grids, columns, and guides are very handy for aligning elements and creating precise and balanced layouts. The character and paragraph styles feature is also very useful for quickly applying consistent formatting throughout the document.

Cons

However, what I like least about Adobe InDesign is its handling of images and objects. While the cropping and resizing tools are convenient, I find that manipulating images and objects can be difficult at times, especially when it comes to aligning elements to baseline grids or matching them to other objects. Additionally, managing layers can be complex for more complex projects.

I use InDesign every day for most of my work. I love it. It does take some actual schooling to really use this app properly but that also means it has A LOT of features and tools that can make beautiful, unique work that other applications can't do.

Pros

The expansive tools and features in the program for designing high quality documents that look professional.

Cons

The collaborating feature with fellow artists and the linking of images.

### "Great product IF you commit to Adobe"

March 17, 2022

5.0

If you can afford the Adobe CC suite, InDesign is definitely a worthwhile investment of time to learn the software and functionality.

Pros

The functionality for creating small booklets and brochures is the best part about this software. There are plenty of design tutorials if you need a creative spark. Combined with the CC Suite, this functions very well.

Cons

You must buy into the Adobe world, mastering their language/terminology and shortcuts to function at the highest capacity. It also works best with the Creative Cloud suite and that can get costly.

the overall user experience with Adobe InDesign is positive and the software is considered a tool of choice for layout design and publishing

Pros

Export features for print and digital publishing that create interactive PDFs, EPUBs, and interactive digital publications.

Cons

Resource Consumption: Adobe InDesign is a resource-intensive software, which means it requires a powerful computer to run efficiently. Older computers or computers with lower specs may have trouble running InDesign smoothly.

Very good experience

Pros

Advanced, rich features that fit every industry needs any time for all designers, artists, influencers etc... Its user interface is high quality and user-friendly. InDesign works on all operating systems. It's cloud-based, which facilitates continuity from any device and allows collaboration among team members. Works harmoniously with all abode applications.

Cons

Priced at bit higher. It's feature-rich but this comes as consequence because it's relatively heavy and can take a bit longer to load.

### "The best Layout editor"

August 27, 2022

5.0

In someone’s graphic design career, Adobe, in general, is a must-have, and InDesign is one of the three main pillars of Printing Design. Highly recommended.

Pros

In its overall professionalism, what I like the most is the way InDesign handles multiple pages, all kinds of elements, photos, graphics, etc. all that through the impeccable link managing.

Cons

I don't think there’s something to improve. It is as good as I want. Period.

### "What everyone uses for layout, for better or worse"

January 9, 2023

4.0

Pros

When laying out text, images, preparing documents for printing, and making mass changes across a document, InDesign is fantastic and very intuitive and fluid. The fact that so many people within the design field use this software, makes sharing and inheriting files from other people relatively stress-free.

Cons

There are many quirks and functionality issues that come into play depending on your project. For example, we deal with importing tables into documents on a regular basis and InDesign is very particular about how those can be imported and implemented.

### "Great industry standard with room for improvement"

April 12, 2022

5.0

Very positive usability experience that I cannot imagine my daily work without. A must have for every level of designer.

Pros

This is a great industry standard software, that is a must for every designer. I like it compatibility with other adobe programs and if you know how to use one of them, like Photoshop, transitioning to indesign is quite easy. It is hard to pinpoint my favourite feature, because to be completely honest, it has everything you need to create print ready artwork. It doesn't require any additional plug ins or paid features, it just is a completely fully functioning program.

Cons

I think it could benefit from having an option for a very minimal image editing feature. Since all the adobe programs connected, I wish you could change the image from RGB to CMYK straight in InDesign instead of opening it in photoshop. It's a small step, but something that every designer has to do to make print ready designs.

### "Il miglior software per l'editoria"

January 6, 2023
