### "Great for editing image for big catalogues"

April 28, 2023

5.0

We have 4000 new articles a year who need to be edited for our website and catalogue. We have been using Indesign to do this for years and are really happy.

Pros

It is easy to layout pictures and texts onto a pageto create flyers. It is also easy to integrate our photos on the pages we designed.

Cons

When moving things, sometimes it happens that fonts and links change or are gone by accident. There is high learning curve for beginners.

I literally can't think of a better tool to develop your creativity in editorial design. It's simple, intuitive and allows you to see your ideas clearly.

Cons

For me it has none, it is an ideal tool.

### "I feel trapped"

October 7, 2021

4.0

It's flexible and functional and I can't imagine life without it, but I'm resentful.

Pros

I worked in advertising out of college and have used various platforms over the decades. InDesign definitely serves my purposes.

Cons

The expense and Adobe's inability to play nice with operating systems has always been a pain, and an expensive one. The subscription plan makes upgrades seamless, but I miss the days of a one-time payment and I'm good to go for years.

Reason for choosing Adobe InDesign

I use Mac, and went with the bigger name brand.

### "Super Detailed Program!"

April 12, 2022

5.0

Pros

Adobe InDesign works great to create detailed material (like flyers, posters, booklets, etc...)

Cons

I thankfully am the one who doesn't do the initial creation of files for our organization. Someone else creates them, then I go in and proof and edit. I think ID is a more complicated program to use. Maybe it's just because I don't know all the ins and outs of it, but I do think it's super detailed and can be confusing as to how to utilize it. I DO think it's a great program - if you can get some training on it and spend some time figuring out all the cool features! I just prefer something a little more simple. However, it works great for our church for all the graphic needs we have and all the printed material we put out regularly!

### "El programa más completo de maquetación"

February 19, 2024

5.0

### "Great Program"

April 7, 2022

5.0

I've been using this software for a number of years, and i also teach others how to use it.

Pros

This program is great for designing brochures, flyers, and anything else you would normally use other desktop publishing programs with. However, you have MUCH more control over the design to create a better-looking final product.

Cons

This is not a drag and drop piece and software so there s a learning curve t use it.

### "Design Solution"

January 27, 2022

5.0

Adobe is hard to get support from, but you can always Google and get answers.

Pros

I love being able to integrate graphics and images easily into layouts with linked graphics/fonts easily packaged.

Cons

I have no complaints! I love InDesign!! I have used it as a designer for over 25 years and will until I no longer design. Best layout software ever!

### "As of yet still irreplaceable"

November 23, 2023

5.0

Pros

Makes designing multi-page documents so much more manageable and the process much cleaner, especially when it comes to managing many high-resolution images and text formatting.

Cons

Spellcheck is not that intuitive (compared to word processing apps). Doesn’t help with grammar errors.

### "The industry standard for print"

June 6, 2022

5.0

Pros

No other software manages to link the files from the established programs Photoshop and Illustrator like InDesign. The Pre-Flight Assistant saves you from unpleasant surprises during the printing process.

Cons

Understandably, you have to make sure that all the files you use are in one folder if possible to avoid missing links. Fortunately, there is the option to pack projects into a folder.

### "The Holy Grail of publishing"

November 19, 2023

5.0

Pros

Indesign is a part of Adobe Suite so it can integrate with other Adobe programs. I mostly use it in conjunction with Photoshop and Lightroom. Indesign also feature many customizable layouts to create beautifully curated print designs.

Cons

Large files can become an issue if you don't have a computer with sufficient storage space. Also, because of the large files, exporting can be very time consuming. External storage may be necessary.

### "O software certo para design e edição editorial"

March 15, 2023

5.0

### "InDesign is The Software for Publication Design"

September 6, 2022

5.0

Pros

InDesign software is very intuitive. I recently taught a new hire how to use InDesign to layout a 150-page publication. She had never performed this type of work before, but learned the software easily and did an excellent job with her project. She was able to use InDesign Help to answer a lot of her questions about how to accomplish various tasks.

Cons

I wish that InDesign had the ability tom detect spelling errors. Sometimes we write newsletter copy in the layout in order to fill a specific space. Most text has been edited in Word, so those errors are detected prior to placing in InDesign. We have to rely entirely on our proofreaders to spot error in stories that we write on the fly.

### "meh."

May 12, 2023

4.0

Pros

I like how the design layout is easy to standardize to industry level and to format overall.

Cons

It’s not an intuitive program. I much prefer adobe’s other platforms like illustrator and photoshop because it just makes more sense to use. In my opinion, it’s much easier to use design wise and just feels more efficient.

### "InDesign Review"

January 7, 2022

4.0

Overall pleased with this but cost and low levels of support hamper the overall experience.

Pros

InDesign has been around for many years and hardly changed - this is due to it being so well put together and the functionality working so well. It is easy to use, learn and there are plenty of functions that can do whatever is required of it.

Cons

Software is expensive as it is a subscription based model. Also we have issues with users who are on different versions - this usually corrupts the file. In addition to this users do find they get locked out of the file and this means work has been lost. Support for this is limited from Adobe. The console to assign users also periodically goes wrong and requires a call to the helpdesk to resolve, this is not usually very quick.

### "Offers the Best Option for Professional Quality Printed Materials"

October 25, 2022

5.0

Pros

I like the flexibility InDesign offers for creating marketing materials from standard to unique sizes.

Cons

There is a bit of a learning curve to overcome, so if you are brand new to graphic design, InDesign is not what I would deem very user-friendly.

### "One of the best publishing softwares from the almighty Adobe family. "

November 27, 2022

5.0

Pros

To me, it's the best when it comes to the publishing industry. Interactive PDF, brochures, magazines, posters, info sheets as well as books can be designed effortlessly with indesign.

Cons

I don't have much to say but the procedure of automatic page numbering is a bit complicated and can not be easily handled by a beginner.

### "A reluctant fan of InDesign"

June 23, 2022

5.0

Pros

I was a very reluctant convert to InDesign having been a Quark XPress user for many years. Though it took a while, I can now say I am a happy InDesign user. My favorite feature is the way it works so seamlessly with other Adobe products and fonts. I use master pages, automatic page numbering, layers, libraries, color swatches, and effects on a regular basis, all of which make my job easier.

Cons

When I first started using InDesign, I found it a bit awkward to use. It didn't work smoothly and reminded me of Pagemaker back in the day. However, in the past several years, Adobe has made a lot of improvements which erased my original objections. I can't say that I have any complaints.
