Pros During the pandemic:How it handles virtually unlimited exams and exam takers. How easy it is to copy exams (making it possible to split exams for separate invigilators).How easy it is to create exams - both from scratch and via pdf upload. The variety of exams it handles (supports audio files, has built-in tools, can accept scanned responses, support multiple files in addition to the exam question paper).Now:The auto-marking feature, the types of auto-marking questions, the 'jumble the questions' feature... all making it easy to create worksheets/tasks students can reuse during revision season. The customer support is outstanding, and the platform is very flexible and customizable which are its strongest features. After using it for two years, I would definitely recommend it to other educators looking for a reliable digital platform to conduct their assessments. Pros The customizable features have been the most impactful. Exam.net gives me the flexibility to design assessments based on my needs and the needs of my students as they prepare for college exams. It allows me to create essay questions quickly and easily and provides a platform for me to score these responses in an organized and efficient way. Cons I think that Exam.net has done a lot recently to improve their platform even more. I have been using it now for more than two years, and my students really enjoy it. The one suggestion I would make is to maybe expand the ability to add images and videos. Pros I’m an English teacher and the most useful features for me are: the possibility to add audio tracks, the possibility to add the options such as help for translation, synonyms, spelling check, text to speech and also the possibility to add accessibility tools such as mind maps, schemes for students with special needs. Pros My favorite thing about exam.net is the ability to enter robust math equations, including fractions, exponents, radicals, logarithms, integrals, derivatives, etc. Doing so is relatively easy, as well. Cons I cannot think of any cons. Exam.net is a wonderful tool. The students appreciate a clean and simple interface, and I enjoy the time I save not having to grade quizzes and tests. While not 100% percent foolproof it’s the best tool we have. Pros Easy to use and make your own exams. You can add pdfs and audio files. You can monitor student answers. There is a chat function that works for the whole group or to send to individual students. You can make tests that autocorrect. You can even send off written essays to Ouriginal to check for plagiarism. If the internet goes out in the middle of a test, they can continue writing. Everything is still saved. Cons Some students can still find away around the security measures to access the internet. I wish there was a function that allows the students to insert footnotes. I wish there was a way connect the exams to Teams making it easier to give feedback and share the exams with students. But would highly recommend. Pros Easy to create tests, and to make sure the students quickly join the test and starts answering questions. Works great for longer writing tests and more quiz-like tests. Easy to print the tests when all the students are done which saves a lot of time. Cons Quite hard to now download the app for MacBook. Could be a MUCH easier process and I hope this will improve. For students it shouldn't be to many clicks before they have the app, and working through iCloud is not optimal. It is very easy to use and very intuitive, so makes it a practical solution to the ongoing problem of workload and cheating. Cons It would be very helpful if pupils could automatically receive their answers at a point of the examiners choosing, for example releasing the scripts. Pros Being able to customize tests and have some questions be automatically marked correct or incorrect, significantly reducing the time it takes to grade large groups of students. It is increadably useful when multiple groups of students will be doing the same test. Cons Actually creating tests can be somewhat tricky. I wish the ability to change the default settings of newly added questions was added to the product as that would reduce the amount of time it takes to make tests with the settings I need.
