### "Useful tool for multi personnel teams"

August 9, 2023

4.0

Has been a useful tool which freed me from depending on others for build deployments.

Pros

The most useful feature for me has been the deployment and extracting the builds. Build management across multiple platforms is also used.

Cons

Suggest integrating with more tools such as automated test tools.

### "A brilliant version control system"

January 27, 2019

5.0

At Vanadium Games Ltd, we are using Bitbucket to store our Node.Js scripts for our Discord bot and all of our Unity projects. Even though we are using many textures, we are still able to store all of our projects with ease. We use Sourcetree as a client as it is easy to use, without much knowlege of Git required.

Pros

\>There is a free option having a team of up to 5 users. This includes unlimited private repositories of up to 1GB. >Having a version control system not only allows us to share the project between users but also have multiple backups in case a user breaks something. >It is very fast and easy to use

Cons

\>In a team, each repository needs to have a project. As all of our projects only need one repository, it is unecessary step

### "Got to address the GitHub in the room"

January 11, 2018

4.0

It's always good to use a non-local Git repo for storing code, so Bitbucket has that going for it.

Pros

The basic functionality of this remote Git repository is good. If you're a JIRA user the integration with that alone is a killer reason for using BitBucket. References to JIRA tickets in commit comments will show on the ticket!

Cons

The actual UX of Bitbucket alone isn't as nice as Github. I'd prefer that the side-by-side diff was the default, the BB implementation is good but it appears in a popup window and can't be referenced by URL.

### "A great alternative to GitHub"

June 14, 2018

5.0

The best git repository on the market. A great alternative to GitHub, especially for those using other Atlassian software (such as Jira). Works great with the git repository software Sourcetree from atlassian.

Pros

It allows for private repository access for up to 5 people for free. This feature is great for small software teams who do not want their code repository to be public. Contains all if not more features than GitHub at a better price point. The biggest pro of bitbucket come to those that are using the rest of the Atlassian stack. Integrates easily with Jira, allowing for great flexibility when managing tasks and code.

Cons

Web interface can lack some info at times, and sometimes is not available due to network issues. Software can become pricey if using with large software teams.

Cons

The fact that the ssh keys can be attached to user and project, but not both at the same time

### "Simple version control system with powerful Pipelines"

December 12, 2022

5.0

I am a web developer and I use bitbucket on daily basis. It helps me to control my product updates and work with other developers.

Pros

I mostly like the Bitbucket Pipelines. It is very easy to set up and works perfectly.

Cons

I would like to see bitbucket as a separate product. But it has too many relations to Atlassian and sometimes this makes it uncomfortable to work with it.

### "Using it flawlessly for 2+ years"

November 29, 2018

5.0

Great github alternative, in a way that you can say that its not an alternative at all but a must go.

Pros

We're a small team so we currently use the free version which is limited in terms of users. We don't have any issue at all and using the UI to create, merge pull requests & review the code is pretty straight forward.

Cons

None that I can think of now. We haven't had any issue.

### "The best for private repositories"

January 9, 2019

5.0

Pros

It offers unlimited free private repositories. Bitbucket stands out from other version control systems due to its intuitive and sleek user interface making it very easy to use and more importantly, it integrates well with JIRA

Cons

For bigger teams, the costs could be high due to its user-based pricing model. Other than that, Bitbucket is just perfect.

### "Bitbucket is the simplest, most effective way for our teams to stay on top of our code."

December 6, 2019

5.0

Before Bitbucket, we were experiencing some problems with sharing and maintaining our repositories. Bitbucket has minimized downtime and helped us focus more time on the larger priorities.

Pros

Small teams or Large teams, massive amounts of code or small amounts, Bitbucket proves again and again to be the most important tool for keeping our projects on track and on time. Whether it's version control or simply managing and sharing repositories, Bitbucket has streamlined our entire process. Also Bitbucket Documentation is extremely well done and very important.

Cons

Can't say a single bad thing about the Bitbucket software. Only thing I am upset with is that I waited so long to use it for our projects.

### "Bitbucket hosted gits provides great private repos"

May 29, 2018

5.0

It provides great private repositories for sharing of the information with my team. The content versioning is utilised so much by our team. There are very few problems we face with it and it works very efficiently for all of the requests made. It saved us by reducing chances of code vulnerablity by any miscreant.

Pros

It has a simple and clear interface which has many functions that we use every day. The integration is very easy. Searching code and reviewing pull requests is very easy. It has a freemium model and it integrates well with Jira. Reviewing the commits is good feature.

Cons

We get confused sometimes with the design due to features spread all over. The design looks very sharp but the features should be easily found.

### "Bitbucket is a great continuous development tool"

January 9, 2023

5.0

I have been using Bitbucket for 7 years and have never been disappointed.

Pros

Bitbucket is sober and simple, it is a great tool to manage code and releases, it manages perfectly pull requests and code review

Cons

Email notifications could use more acute filters and there have been some wonky mishaps with authorizations management

### "If you are already a part of Atlassian Ecosystem "

February 17, 2021

5.0

I have been transitioning slowly to bitbucket since microsoft's acquisition of GitHub. I wish that bitbucket had a more of a social feel like GitHub - but I can do without it.

Pros

A number of integration points with Jira, Trello and especially Slack. Integrations is a must have for me in Code versioning systems and this does it quite adequately.

Cons

Github has more free options including unlimited private repositories unlike bitbucket's 5 private limit. However that's where the cons end. Not many to speak of

### "A great database for coding sorting"

July 3, 2023

5.0

Pros

The bitbucket has easy option to store and manage the data. Also, it behaves good for coding management. It is easy to work with and provide a lot of flexibility in uploading and downloading the data. You can run multiple applications also from the database directly.

Cons

Needs some computational side to perform the task so it can be little complicated for the non technical background people initially but once they learn it is a great toolkit to work with.

### "Simple Git "

July 8, 2020

4.0

We use bitbucket because of the cost and easy to use.

Pros

What I like the most about Bitbucket it's the UI and UX of the git page. Really easy to manage and to use overall

Cons

What I like the least about Bitbucket it's the lack of features. Yes it's easy to use but maybe too easy. It's very basic and it does not offer a very good CI system like competitor have

### "The best tool for versioning"

April 12, 2019

5.0

Pros

Bitbucket offers private repos even if you are a free user member, this is a great feature for startups, once your team grows you can adjust it. It integrates very well with other atlassian products, create interface for reviewing pull requests, adding comments, etc.

Cons

Until this day I have no complain related to bitbucket, it's a great tool that offers flexibility and great features for code versioning

### "Bitbucket"

March 21, 2019

5.0

Bitbucket is a source code repository, where most of the usage will come from developers. As a tester, it comes in handy after code is merged to view what changes were made. As it is integrated with JIRA in my environment, it is easy to see the linkage between defects resolved and the code change required. A click from the JIRA ticket will take me directly into Bitbucket and allows viewing of the pull request and all edits made. Comes in handy when determining which regression tests are required for every ticket.

Pros

Tight integration with our JIRA instance

Cons

No problems encountered with my usage of the software

### "Such a beautiful VCS with free private repos and pipelines. Could't ask for more."

March 15, 2018

5.0

Pros

Not only is this solution to version control cheap, but it is excellent. The pipelines are way too amazing. Recommended.

Cons

The only dislike is that the GUI client that is available for download is a bit confusing. If you aren't familiar with git based systems and using CLI then this can be quite confusing. Sourcetree needs modification

### "Bitbucket is a great alternative to Github"

June 2, 2018

4.0

Pros

The biggest plus with Bitbucket is the ability to host private repos. The web interface is fairly easy to navigate and the help is actually helpful. There seems to be an active push for new features on a regular basis - for those not needing Github specifically, this is a wonderful alternative.

Cons

The feature set is not yet fully on par with Github and, as a lesser-known alternative, Bitbucket does not yet have the user buy-in that Github does so public collaboration is not as active.

### "Amazing repository hosting system"

October 9, 2020

4.0

Overall I really enjoyed using Bitbucket. Our team still uses it every day at work. It is reliable and efficient. We cannot live without it!

Pros

Bitbucket is such an easy to use repository hosting and sharing system. If you are familiar with git, you will have no problem working with Bitbucket. The system has a very intuitive design and an easy learning curve.

Cons

I transitioned from using GitHub so the lay out was a little different. However the difference with barely noticeable and the learning curve was not big at all.

### "Best quality/price private git code management platform"

October 30, 2018

5.0

A wonderful platform, with many features for free. If you have to have a private repo saved in the cloud for a side project (or small team project) is the way to go. For a bigger team is just as good as any other software built by Atlassian. Best quality at a good price!

Pros

I like most the possibility to have private repositories for free. You can build a private project with a small team for free.

Cons

A little bit difficult to explore and find a particular option or function. It could be useful to have a search engine to find an option or function.

### "Complete solution for code versioning"

December 31, 2019

5.0

With Bitbucket I have the security of keeping my project versioned and with that I can develop without fear. Sharing with team members makes the process simple and efficient.

Pros

With Bitbucket I can have many private projects and all Git features. I can create project teams by assigning different permissions to each one. The ability to view code in the web interface itself allows for quick checks. You can also check the differences of each commit. Integration with SourceTree is a breeze.

Cons

If you use the tool with the default flow, you will have no problems. However, in some situations it is a little difficult to correct. I already had problems that the tool claimed problems in login while all the information was correct.

Alternatives considered

[GitHub](https://www.capterra.com/p/129067/GitHub/)

Reason for choosing Bitbucket

I need private projects and the possibility of testing without having to pay for it at the beginning.

### "Very trustworthy specially after having used other repositories for different projects over time"

March 26, 2018

5.0

Pros

Nice UI, lots of features. Very easy to start using and free tier lets you get and awesome feel of what to expect with a few projects

Cons

When trying to configure more advance features like SSH keys things got a bit harder (not much, though) because there were no clear titles or sections of where to find the specific ones I needed

### "Bitbucket is the best option to manage your firm’s Git repositories and plan codes related to your project."

August 4, 2018

5.0

Pros

The application has a clean, intuitive and user-friendly interface and you can also create merge rules according to the respective repository. They provide a lot of tutorials and tricks to get started with the software. The free model allows private code repository. Provides a lot of integrations that include Python, Microsoft Azure, TeamCity, Jira and circle CI. You can easily process the pull requests by inviting your team members to review them, before you merge them. You can also add collaborators to the code you work on. The platform facilitates development of code even from an integrated development environment as preferred by the developers or from the website. The integration of the application with Trello helps you with project management. Permission management and conflict management are handled quite well by the application.

Cons

Search capabilities are quite limited. At times you would find that the pages take a lot of time to get loaded. The application doesn't provide a two-factor authentication.

### "Great git code management tool"

June 28, 2020

5.0

We use it to version all our code base as our main git repository.

Pros

We have been using Bitbucket since our start. Their policy of having 5 users on a free private repository has helped us a lot on our start.

Cons

I've had some issues with connecting with the service. It has happened only twice in 4 years and that is the only problem that I've had.
