### "Much better than github"

June 2, 2019

5.0

I love Bitbucket. It has always provided a more intuitive and easy to use experience. I highly recommend it.

Pros

The web-based app is fantastic. It has a great UX, its easy to use, and it just looks nice. My favorite feature is the side-by-side comparison for diff comparisons. Whenever you have code with particularly long lines, the traditional word wrap comparison becomes virtually unusable. But Bitbucket has a really nice side-by-side comparison that allows you to scroll horizontally. It is indispensable. It also integrates with Jira really nicely. Whenever you name a branch after a Jira issue, you get a really handly link in Bitbucket that will display the Jira issue card in modal. Lastly, Bitbucket has better prices for private repos (especially for smaller teams).

Cons

Not a strong mobile presence (albeit, there are few cases where you really need to be able to interact with yoru code repos from a mobile device, but it does come up from time to time)

Alternatives considered

[GitHub](https://www.capterra.com/p/129067/GitHub/)

Reason for choosing Bitbucket

\* It has better prices for companies our size. \* Tasks that involve using the web-based app are much faster in bitbucket (i.e. code reviews, general branch management, merging pull requests, etc).

### "Market leading product by Atlassian"

July 30, 2019

4.0

Overall Bitbucket is a great platform for professional developers for personal and commercial use.

Pros

I have been using Bitbucket (personally and commercially) for couple of years and I'm really satisfied with the services and features that they offer. Letting free users create unlimited repos and allowing up to five users is a good way to go, which attracts more users. Pull requests helps to get code reviewed by experts and get them approve before it available for others and helps to maintain quality code leading to quality software. More useful features like Pipeline lets user to deploy/release more often.

Cons

As a market leader, pricing plans can be adjusted to attract more

### "Facilitates project management."

May 1, 2023

4.0

Due to its smooth integration and cooperation with other Jira tools for project management and documentation, using bitbucket on a daily basis is pleasant and hassle-free.

Pros

One of the biggest advantages of Bitbucket is the integration with other Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence) which makes project management much easier.Another advantage is good access control, which allows for a high level of security of the repository content and other related information and allows for convenient management of these resources.Bitbucket has CI/CD tools to ensure rapid deployment of changes to production and efficient testing of code. It's probably a matter of habit or subjective preference, but I also really like the very convenient and intuitive code review tools. I also like the use of colours to increase the readability of the code, which I think has been introduced recently (or I haven't seen it before).

Cons

As far as I can understand, there were some inconveniences with the process of migrating data from a competing system to Jira.

### "Bitbucket comparative to other tools as a version control system"

September 25, 2019

4.0

If you are looking for features like builtin CI/CD, free private repositories , integration with other tools like jira and trello you should go for bitbucket, But if you work mostly on free source ,public projects and want larger community support, have larger team github would be best choice and you could get features like CI/CD with other third party tools.

Pros

I have been using bitbucket for both my private projects and professional project, first its free for even your unlimited private repositories and that's a great thing, VCS like github which has the largest public repositories does not give you private repositories for free. If you are familiar with git then bitbucket has every easy UI. Second it has CI/CD builtin which is the major reason I have choose bitbucket over github for project which need CI/CD. One of great feature is its integration with other popular tools like jira, trello, slack etc.

Cons

One of the major downside of bitbucket is its community support, currently github has the largest number of public repostiories while bitbucket lags behind. Bitbucket does has plugin support but if we compare to github then github has larger plugin set. Github gives you lot of free source project which you can fork, bitbuck doesn't have that much public projects.

### "Our Git and CI/CD environment of choice"

August 5, 2022

4.0

Bitbucket is in charge of most of our Git repositories, and we barely had a problem in 10 years. Recommended.

Pros

The product is quite easy to use, tough user and project management on different projects can be a little confusing. Widely used and integrated with a lot of external services. I especially liked the seamless integration with Vercel to publish NexstJs projects without any problem - usually quite hard to configure. Free tier gives you a lot of space and options, nobody else does.

Cons

Account management could be improved. The border between free tier and payment version is not always easy to understand.

Reason for choosing Bitbucket

### "Controller of high level versions, an option among the most used."

June 30, 2018

4.0

Excellent tool for version control and error handling, allowing the integration between various tools and collaboration with teams, a great alternative that is worth trying.

Pros

When one is a software developer, it is essential that a version control tool be used to maintain the integrity of our code and avoid the loss of work and progress in the face of errors that arise, and here Bitbucket enters, an interesting alternative to the most used tools, its main attraction is that it allows you to choose git or mercurial to control the versions, offers excellent funconalidades for error control, you can integrate with Google Analytics, and its main strength is that it allows you an unlimited number of private repositories which gives you total freedom to upload as many projects as you want, you and your team can work at ease and enjoy this excellent tool.

Cons

Although I mentioned previously accounts with an unlimited number of private repositories, the disadvantage is that when the free versions of Bitbucket limit only 5 collaborators in each project and users who need a larger number of these will have to switch to a subscription plan .

### "Bitbucket might loose our business to GitLab..."

July 17, 2019

5.0

Bitbucket has all kinds of standard stuff that you'd expect from a code repository service, and they got as big as they are because they offered free private repositories, unlike Github. However, they don't offer unlimited team members like GitLab does. So, not only did we integrate GitLab with our new product we're launching, but we might move exclusively to GitLab at some point. It's history repeating itself. If they want to keep people around, they'll need to make it have unlimited teams, and instead charge for other features, such as compute time on Pipelines. If they make it so you can run Pipelines on Mac and Windows as well as Linux, we'll certainly stay with Bitbucket, as no one does that yet. That'll give them a cutting edge advantage that a lot of people want. Right now we need to use Travis CI for Mac, and some other one for Windows when we do our app testing for those platforms.

Pros

Bitbucket has been a part of our operations since the beginning, and it comes with built-in CI/CD. When we push to the repo, Pipelines runs, and it calls the webhook to deploy it on our servers when it passes.

Cons

They limit the number of users account...

### "The most powerful code repository out there"

September 26, 2023

5.0

Pros

Easy to use, very clean and intuitive interface, easy to manage teams, good integrations with the likes of Jira... In short, one of the best (if not the best), code repository software out there, especially if you use other Atlassian software as it has unparalleled integration within that ecosystem.

Cons

More dashboard views would be nice but that's just nick picking, it is not a key feature

### "Bitrix24 user experience"

April 28, 2022

5.0

First of all I want to thank the organizers of Bitrix24 because they do an excellent job of providing a great service to entrepreneurs and different companies, I can describe my experience with it as great compared to the other alternatives available. Bitrix24 provides distinctive and beautiful backgrounds, but I think that providing the option to add images as backgrounds would be an excellent step, so that companies and entrepreneurs can put their company's images or logos in the background, and this enhances the sense of belonging. - As a final point, I think that this type of application needs a kind of suggestion program in artificial intelligence, for example, there are many companies that need employees with certain characteristics, such as an application programmer, so Bitrix24 suggests a group of users on LinkedIn who meet the appropriate conditions. This applies to real estate, Delivery services, canning services, .... All that the company and the entrepreneur needs, this point can be worked on in the long term by investing more in DEEP LEARNING

Pros

One of the most prominent points that you answered me about is that it is easy to use, its interface (reception) is simple and it offers multiple options for entering and registering email facebook or number phone ...other It also supports many operating systems, whether mac or windows, and is available for android and ios

Cons

\- The application does not support the Arabic language, I am sure that adding the Arabic language will provide many users in the Arab world Having a clock showing the time on the front of the site. I think it is advisable to add a reminder of today’s date directly below it. This will be excellent, especially since the pressure of work leads many users to forget dates and make mistakes in appointments.

Cons

### "Bitbucket as a Source Control "

Pros

In my opinion Bitbucket is one the best option that you can choose beside Github, especially because the product environment is big. You can use other softwares from the same developer as Bitbucket such as Jira dan Confluence.

Cons

I think BItbucket still lacks of feature for their repository setting. If we see at Github, there's so many thing that we can use and choose inside the repository setting.

### "Bitbucket review"

March 14, 2020

5.0

Overall this is really good software for team development process and if you are not fun of Github you can use this for sure because it has a lot benefits with integration of other atlassian products such as Jira.

Pros

This is great subversion software by Atlassian. It has tons of apps you can use with Jira and it's first soft that provided free private repos. I can invite more people for colaboration than Github so it's best option for starting companies to use this for team. Unlike Github I could say that Bitbucket is also used by huge companies because it has Bitbucket server, you can install this to your server and use inside local network.

Cons

Truly telling I don't mind any Cons for now that really affects on development process only may it's not available mobile app yet.

### "Bitbuket - The enterprise level GIT repositories"

October 19, 2018

4.0

BitBucket is helping use in managing the code and deploying the system in a quick way. Configuration management is possible with third party software like JIRA. Power of the tool can be understand when you start working on it and making the things easy for you.

Pros

Bitbucket is enterprise level GIT services provider with provide the web repository for manage the code. It user interface is very simple and easy to understand. Version Control also make it simple and merging the code also become an easy task. Managing permission in web based environment is also remove the confusion when you same console in different environment. Code review and other operation can be also take it form web-based interface. Integrity of Bitbucket with other DevOps is also great and encourage for management for pick this up as version controlling.

Cons

There a some learning curves in it as a new feature come in their is no demo for it and add with just a small note and a documentation which make that feature completely out of the league. Setup is also little confusing as you have to set up the security and permission in the beginning of the setup.

### "Secure, collaborative and easily integrable for a virtual startup team"

May 23, 2021

4.0

For specific use cases such as security conscious, integration-critical startup teams, Bitbucket is a pretty reliable choice for version control, collaboration and documentation. While it can still have a ton of features, dabble more into open source communities to add features and drive active participation, I think it has achieved its core aim of a secure codebase manager

Pros

Security is the first thing that comes to mind when I pit Bitbucket against its major competitiors - Gitlab and Github, both of which I have also used for more than 2 years. Being part of a startup where our codebase having security vulnerabilities would be nothing short of catastrophe, Bitbucket's enterprise grade features such as IP whitelisting make it much more easy on the minds of our developer teams that our code is safe. Secondly, being a virtual team, we practically live on Jira(Jira and Bitbucket are both owned by Atlassian, so super easy to connect) and Slack, and BB provides super easy integrability with both.

Cons

Bitbucket is a popular tool for production-specific startup teams, but it's free offerings are limited for other users. I personally use Github for my personal projects. Bitbucket also lacks a community support as strong as Github does. When we say Open source, we immediately think of Github, not Bitbucket.

### "Perfect platform for hosting sourcecode"

August 28, 2018

5.0

We use Bitbucket every day to manage our source code and we use the pipelines feature to handle deployment. Bitbucket integrates really well with just about every piece of software with an API. It's much cheaper than some other options (especially if you want private repositories) and it is just as robust. The interface is clean and polished. I highly recommend it!

Pros

Bitbucket's most competitive feature is the built-in integration with Atlassian's other products as well as their pricing for private repositories (their free). I love how easy it is to set up continuous delivery for our products via Bitbucket Pipelines. I also really love how the interface isn't distracting, there is very little extraneous content to distract you from the project you are viewing.

Cons

I don't have much negative to say about Bitbucket. It can sometimes be hard to find things if you are working in an account that isn't set up well...but if you set up your organization correctly, it's not an issue.
