Clash detection is easy to run, and there are many tools to review clashes in detail. I especially like the walkthrough function, which is very easy to use and lets you move around the model freely. Pros What i like the most about autodesk navisworks is the ease of use for visual representations in 3D and clash detection. Cons What I like the least about autodesk navisworks is that sometimes files are too large and cannot be opened on computers that are not capable. I have been using AutoCAD by AutoDesk for well over 10 years now, so I am very familiar with the layout of that system, which carries over into Navisworks and therefore helped me pick up Navisworks very quickly. Pros If you are familiar with the layout of other AutoDesk products, picking up Navisworks should be straightforward to you as they are structured very similarly to one another. Cons I have only just recently began using Navisworks, but so far the only thing I don't really care for about Navisworks is that it creates files of a native filetype of which I have not found to be compatible in other 3D software. By simulating the actual implementation of components and identifying conflicts between systems, Navisworks helps teams to address potential issues early, saving time and resources. The clash detection feature, which highlights overlaps and potential interferences between mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP), structural, and architectural elements, ensures that problems are resolved in the virtual model before physical construction begins. Pros The feature that I like most about Navisworks is that excels in providing a comprehensive approach to Building Information Modelling (BIM) by integrating 3D modelling and simulation capabilities. This feature allows for detailed analysis and coordination across various systems. Its powerful features help teams visualize the entire project lifecycle and make informed decisions. Navisworks is a powerful tool for project coordination, simulation, and clash detection, and it’s great that it simplifies complex tasks and boosts collaboration. Cons The least that I like about Navisworks is the general knowledge of operating it. This is a major drawback of the software it is not necessarily intuitive for new users. It often requires consistent practice and familiarity to stay up-to-date with all of its features, which can be frustrating if you only need to use it occasionally. The interface can be overwhelming, with many tools and options that might not be immediately obvious, which often results in a "use it or lose it" scenario.
