Navisworks makes teamwork smoother and reduces mistakes, though it takes effort and money to use well. Clash detection is easy to run, and there are many tools to review clashes in detail. I especially like the walkthrough function, which is very easy to use and lets you move around the model freely.

Pros

\- Brings models together - Clash detection - Better teamwork - 4D simulation (time + 3D) - Easy review and navigation (Walkthrough) - Animation walkthrough - Autodesk Customer support is very easy to reach.

Cons

\- Performance issues Sometime - High cost - Limited collaboration features compared to newer platforms (like BIM 360 or Revizto) - Visualization limitation

La experiencia general ha sido positiva en términos de coordinación interdisciplinaria y revisión de modelos. Navisworks facilita la identificación temprana de conflictos, lo cual optimiza tiempos y reduce costos en obra. Como BIM Manager, su uso ha sido fundamental en procesos de validación y comunicación entre equipos. Sin embargo, su rol se mantiene más enfocado en revisión que en autoría, lo cual condiciona su alcance dentro del flujo de trabajo BIM.

Pros

Desde la perspectiva de un BIM Manager, Navisworks presenta una calidad sólida orientada a la coordinación y revisión de modelos. Su capacidad para federar múltiples disciplinas y detectar interferencias (clash detection) es altamente eficiente. La estabilidad del software y su integración con otros entornos BIM lo posicionan como una herramienta clave en fases de coordinación. My overall experience with navisworks is very good and i will continue to use in my career for the forseeable future.

Pros

What i like the most about autodesk navisworks is the ease of use for visual representations in 3D and clash detection.

Cons

What I like the least about autodesk navisworks is that sometimes files are too large and cannot be opened on computers that are not capable.

I recently began working on a project with an engineering firm who uses Navisworks to create 3D models. I have been using AutoCAD by AutoDesk for well over 10 years now, so I am very familiar with the layout of that system, which carries over into Navisworks and therefore helped me pick up Navisworks very quickly.

Pros

If you are familiar with the layout of other AutoDesk products, picking up Navisworks should be straightforward to you as they are structured very similarly to one another.

Cons

I have only just recently began using Navisworks, but so far the only thing I don't really care for about Navisworks is that it creates files of a native filetype of which I have not found to be compatible in other 3D software.

Having used for over 10 years its the best tool to be able to share the model and views easily with non technical people

Pros

Great model federating tool it can import a lot of different files and can coordinate easily. It is also very useful to share models to not technical people so they can use

Cons

It can be slow to import models and can crash frequently on import

The ability to track project progress in a 3D view is precious. It offers a clear understanding of how elements comes together. By simulating the actual implementation of components and identifying conflicts between systems, Navisworks helps teams to address potential issues early, saving time and resources. The clash detection feature, which highlights overlaps and potential interferences between mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP), structural, and architectural elements, ensures that problems are resolved in the virtual model before physical construction begins.

Pros

The feature that I like most about Navisworks is that excels in providing a comprehensive approach to Building Information Modelling (BIM) by integrating 3D modelling and simulation capabilities. This feature allows for detailed analysis and coordination across various systems. Its powerful features help teams visualize the entire project lifecycle and make informed decisions. Navisworks is a powerful tool for project coordination, simulation, and clash detection, and it’s great that it simplifies complex tasks and boosts collaboration.

Cons

The least that I like about Navisworks is the general knowledge of operating it. This is a major drawback of the software it is not necessarily intuitive for new users. It often requires consistent practice and familiarity to stay up-to-date with all of its features, which can be frustrating if you only need to use it occasionally. The interface can be overwhelming, with many tools and options that might not be immediately obvious, which often results in a "use it or lose it" scenario.

En general es muy buena la recomiendo para el uso de planificación de proyectos cumplimiento de cronogramas, supervisión de obra etc.

Pros

Es muy versátil, se puede hacer cronogramas muy fácilmente y el seguimiento de obra es lo mejor

Cons

Se necesita una buena pc y no todas la tienen lastimosamente
