You do need to do a little bit of the tutorials to get started but in no time at all, you are easily editing videos. Cons The cost of Adobe pro is a little higher than some others. However, like most Adobe products, it offers a lot of features. If you just wanted to make a single or a couple videos though, you may be better getting a cheaper and less powerful system. I think that the giant leap happened when the movie Avatar was created with Adobe products. Anyhow the chance to detach any panel of the UI and make your custom workspace it's important as well as little innovation like having audio meter in the track and more. If do you have to start editing I suggest Premiere Pro because it's more intuitive than others besides you can also run it in almost any machine with little problems, while others such as Avid needs very specific requirements and if you don't buy their machine very often their support ignore your issue. I remember I used Premiere Pro 2.0 in a very old office PC. Enjoy editing, it's a great work! Pros The UI is very easy and clean that is a must for me, besides the integration with other products such as Audition, Photoshop, etc. make it more flexible than other software. It has anything you need to make a good work from low level to cinema quality Cons The use in cloud is not my preferred way of working. No specific annoyance except you cannot direct import project from DaVinci Resolve and so far Blackmagic raw file format is not native accepted but you have to use a plugin created by the black magic. Cons I have a very high-end pc that i edit videos on, and if you’re editing a long video jt surely does take a long time to render. At that time, it was considered much inferior than Final Cut Pro. Then, the company really did a good job and turned adobe premiere into a professional editing tool. It works well with Protool and AfterEffect (unlike Final Cut Pro X), it can export all different format files that answers the needs in the film industry. The file organization similar to Avid and more flexible than Avid. It allows the remote offline editing. Wonderful. Caption is so easy to work with. It's compatible with all other adobe products, animation, aftereffect.....etc. It has good potential for what it can do for film editing. It offers different interface for different job, like editing, audio editing...etc, and also you can make your own set up as well. It's awesome. Cons I have a list of Cons here, 1. Poor customer service. Most of the time, if there is a problem, you go online or YouTube to find solution. You don't get answer from the customer service. 2. Constantly they put out updated version, causing trouble for file sharing. Also it forces you to upgrade your editing hardware. If you have a lower version of the editing software, you gonna suffer so much bugs and problems. 3. Too little in the library, you have to pay extra, buy and buy as if the subscription fee is not expensive enough. 4. Not enough game for color correction. Very limited and poor. 5. When I tried other applications, at some point I was confronted to some limitations, where Premiere Pro wasn't. If you only need basic editing tools and don't edit regularly, you'd better acquire another product that you'll pay once and will be cheaper than Premiere Pro. But if you want to go a bit further in the editing and be sure to have almost all the tools under the hand, I'll highly recommend to use Adobe Premiere Pro. And, also they should improve proxy video previews. Adobe Premiere Pro is a software that I spent most of my working hours on :) Pros Although Adobe Premiere Pro is full of useful features and options, but the thing that I love most about Adobe Premiere Pro is the fast rendering that saves my hours. :) Cons The only thing that I like least about Adobe Premiere Pro is that it crashes sometimes during the work. If you want to create great looking videos and remove the need for things to exist in the real world - then you simply have to put in the time. Repetition brings retention and you must practice with this product. It becomes very addictive as you learn there are no limits to what scenes you can create. Pros I enjoy creating scenes virtually. Using a green screen, backgrounds from third party sites and other video sources I can create scenes of virtually anything. Cons The learning curve on this is steep. Once you understand some core concepts of overlaying, grouping, scene handling and plug-in usage the frustration over its complexity fade and it becomes an enjoyable process.
