### "Keeps my business organized and saves time"

Teachworks has been a great tool for keeping my business organized and running smoothly. It saves me a lot of time with scheduling, payroll, and managing both students and teachers. Even with a couple of features I wish were more flexible, it’s still very reliable and easy to use.

Pros

I like that Teachworks is easy to use and keeps teachers, students, and admin like me organized with the calendar, student roster, and staff listings. It makes payroll simple each month by showing the total hours and classes worked, along with any admin time. The pricing is also great for what we get.

Cons

I can’t sort teacher hours and classes within Teachworks to quickly see how many classes were taught for each student or class, though I can download the data to a spreadsheet. It’s also tricky to apply lesson packages to specific lessons. For example, with long-term students, payments can get applied to lessons from years ago unless packages are applied from the very start.

### "Consistently wonderful, user-friendly, great support"

I made a very quick decision to go with Teachworks when I started my online tutoring business during Covid. I thought, "If it doesn't work, I'll change to another company later." And I've been SO happy that I've not once ever considered having to change.

Pros

Teachworks was easy to set up and is very user friendly. Also, anytime I have a question, I just write in and it gets answered promptly and thoroughly. But most importantly? It works! I never have to worry about anything going down, data being lost, etc. It's always up, always working:)

Cons

I just wish I had more time to dig in to features I'm not using! I also wish that they had a better system for tracking student test scores like ACT and SAT. I want to keep track by section as well as the overall scores as well as if it was a practice test or actual test. I tried the feature a while back and it was just too "clunky."

### "Lacks 2-way calendar sync"

It lacks two-way Sync to Google Calendar. People have been asking for that for a long time.

Switched from

allows rescheduling. didn't realize it lacked 2-way calendar sync, which LearnSpeed has. Would never switch to product in which people have been asking for years for them to add two-way calendar sync and they haven't done it yet.

Incredible. We used to schedule on an Excel spreadsheet back in 2014. I found TW in 2015 and I love how they're always adding new things.

Pros

Ease of scheduling, customization, billing options!

Cons

I wish I could view the calendar by status of completed appointments (so I could view any missed ones, for example).

### "Like it so much, I’ve stuck with it for nearly 10 years"

It has been very positive. The online lesson feature was pretty glitchy when I used it during Covid & I ended up using FaceTime instead. But I hardly ever use that anymore - so not really a current issue. I’m not sure that I’ve ever needed customer support help - so I’d say the software works great (though I do have a very helpful husband who helps me out if I ever need it).

Pros

Love the calendar and invoicing most. Love that I can schedule lessons for the entire semester and then easily adjust when things need to change & that it will automatically notify the parents. Also love how easy it is to create invoices, edit them if needed, and send reminders to parents if they’re late. Very easy. Also love, when tax-time comes, that I can easily create a chart with all my income - to send to my CPA. Very easy.

Cons

I know a lot of other piano teachers who use other software that is much cheaper. I’m hesitant to change because I really like Teachworks, don’t want to have to learn a new software system, and have years of notes I don’t want to lose. But I do wish it weren’t quite as expensive.

### "Lots of functionality -- No live support options"

All in all, it took over 3 months and over $2000 of external support to be able to switch my CRM over to Teachworks and figure out how to use it. Now that we have a handle on it, it is finally starting to function to become a part of our business. I am saddened that this process could have been smoothed over by an onboarding call that I would have gratefully paid money for. Instead, we were left to fend for ourselves because of the lack of intuitiveness of the system.

Pros

Teachworks has a lot of functionality. It allows users to customize based off their needs. Users can bill hourly or in bulk packages. Lots of options for allowing clients to schedule all at the click of a button. I had seen teachworks years ago, but didn't want to transfer my business over because the platform seemed intimidating. Now, after 3 months it is not so intimidating.

Cons

Onboarding was took three months and $2000. This is largely because TW does not offer any live phone support or onboarding training as do many tech platforms. I was absolutely flummoxed for 3 months and hired VAs and admin to help me transition to the new platform. I begged the company to provide some sort of customer support that I would have gratefully paid for, but they said they couldn't help. Instead, I had to stumble through for two to three hours, figure out what my question even was, then ask support for help. Most of the time, I got redirected to a long help page which often didn't answer my question. There is functionality within the program, but when the documentation doesn't clearly indicate such, then the user is left to wade through pages upon pages of documentation and/or fast forward through videos to find the exact answer to the question. This is not useful for somebody who has limited time or for someone who isn't comfortable with technology. A lot of the functionality is unclear unless you explicitly ask support for help. Ex., Does the system send a message upon scheduling an appointment? Ex., Does cancelling an appointment send a message? In other platforms there are little question marks you can hover over, but in TW you're left to do some trial and error until you figure out exactly what each little thing does. I also dislike that it does not two-way sync with any calendar programs.

We've had a very smooth and enjoyable experience with the product and the customer support team. We switch to Teachworks several years ago from another software program that was much less user friendly and less useful. Teachworks has been great! And any time I have had a question or have suggested a feature improvement, they have been very responsive and quick to resolve any issues.

Pros

Teachworks has been especially helpful for scheduling and invoicing customers. And the customer support has been excellent! And we love all the different add-ons to make it even more useful and customized to our needs.

Cons

Perhaps the biggest challenge we have faced is with the Quickbooks integration. Unfortunately, there is a little glitch when syncing with Quickbooks, because of the way the VAT tax is calculated compared with the way Quickbooks calculates the VAT tax. So some invoices will change after syncing and will not match the invoice in Teachworks.

Overall, my experience has been great. I couldn't imagine finding a better supported tool which I can stretch to fit our unique needs.

Pros

This product fit our needs almost perfectly. The abundance of features, ability to customize, and myriad plugins to connect to external tools make it invaluable. The amount of time we saved moving from our previous approach this tool amounts to many hours per week. Additionally, the responsiveness and helpfulness of customer service is top notch.

Cons

Honestly, very little. There are some things I'd like it to be able to do to fit perfectly into the unique way our business operates, but I can easily find workarounds that aren't at all onerous.

It's been great. Ever since we did an assessment and migrated over, it's been wonderful, reliable and effective for our needs.

Pros

Good value for money and offers options as our needs change through the year. It's intuitive and easy to use with wonderful lesson reminders.

Cons

Inactive students - it should be easier to spot them for some given definition e.g. no lessons in past 6 months and then decide what to do with them. Currently it takes spreadsheet effort.

Very, very positive. I would not consider using anything else, and would highly recommend it to anyone, particularly small businesses.

Pros

For a very low cost I was able to set up my business communications and invoicing efficiently. It is an intuitive system that works well with other apps and is super easy to use. Amazing customer support.

Cons

Sometimes I wish there was a little more variability in what the sessions and instructors are called.

Teachworks keeps us organized and up to date on schedule changes. It's great for all staff members, regardless of location, to be able to access client and schedule information.

Cons

It would be nice to have a bar graph for the services breakdown report in addition to the pie chart. Service categories AND subcategories would also be helpful for quick management reviews.

TeachWorks makes it so much easier to manage all of my tutors and students. I dread the thought of having to run the business without it. Having easy access to all student and tutor details, the calendar and invoice system, and the rapidly growing list of integrations makes the experience much smoother.

Pros

PrObably the scheduling system as a whole. It makes it very easy to track students, lessons, tutor pay and invoicing, and it is very natural and intuitive. My new tutors learn the software quickly and easily, yet it is still robust enough to deal with all of the customisation you could need.

Cons

The integrations list is growing, but still causes difficulty for me. The mailchimp integration was a welcome addition, but many email systems are still not able to be accessed (I use ConverTKit)

The overall experience is good. I think that the main weakness is that many new good features suggested from the user are ignored, or, added after a long time. The fact that only if many users are interested in a feature, doesn't mean all the others are useless.

This is a very easy to use interface. We have tried several tutor management software systems; too often other systems require extensive training or are too cumbersome and confusing. Teachworks is intuitive and easy to use- my tutors now instantly how to use the system. The pricing is fair and very reasonable for the features it provides, allowing us as a small business to grow along with their packages and not worry about how it will affect our budget. While there are some additional features we'd like to see long term from Teachworks, customer support is very responsive to their users and frequently makes updates and changes based on our feedback. Overall great product and highly recommended.

It is very easy to use on mobile or laptop.

Pros

I love the easy lesson tracking and private and shared lesson notes features. I also like the booking feature that I have imbedded in my website.

Cons

There isn't anything I don't like about using Teachworks

Pros

Easy to manage teachers and students. Very clear to show all the teachers' schedules on the calendar. Easy to issue the invoice and record the payment.

Cons

Subscription. I can only downgrade the subscription in a certain time.
